alright, let me make one thing straight, this is the first map i ever got on gmod and will forever be the map i will go to when playing TTT with friends. if the creator ever notices this comment and wants me to; ill post a link of the video where me and multiple of my homies played on this very map

It's funny that you should mention that! I actually had a similar idea myself, but discovered that they do not work with the TTT gamemode. So, unfortunately, I can't with how the mode works currently. I might add this to the list of things to include for my remake of this map. Thanks for the feedback!

think you can be able to add the citadel suit chargers (the ones that heal and charge the suit power to 200 for context)

Well thanks again so much for the additional feedback! I'll most likely be either updating this map, or releasing a "new" one with a whole lot of fixes, such as the ones you've mentioned, and aesthetic upgrades (that word does suck, hahah). I like to think my mapping skills have improved quite a bit since this release, like I mentioned earlier. I'm torn on whether it should be released as a separate map or not, since it will probably end up feeling somewhat different in places. This is by far my most popular work, and I don't want to upset too many people who already like the map as it is. At any rate, thanks again so much, and keep an eye out for more maps like this in the future! Have a good one!

Lastly because I forgot to mention it earlier; I also really like that you put in a bunch of ambient sounds for things such as again the overwathch voice; the computers; and I think I heard a sound for an energy core: a lot of maps\mapmakers do not bother to do that and it makes it rather boring and even semi unpleasant to play on them: so any map\mapmaker that actually bothers to add those details is much appreciated.

P.S. In my opinion props such as say the combine consoles (aka their computers) and any other prop like that should just have their own noises just by default if it is a version that is turned on at least; and just be done with it: however that and many other issues most of which relate to the age of the source engine even just when playing the game; is another conversation entirely.

Also for anyone wishing to actually look out the window:) and just generally speaking I have got to say that having a ladder right in the middle of the window is rather awkward to say the least: so I would suggest either removing it or; seeing as how there is a hallway directly beneath it; while it may be a bit tricky to move it if I remember correctly there is a wall at a bit of a Y section so if it is not too far back maybe you could put the ladder there and then have guard rails where it comes up through the floor?..

I do have some hopefully constructive...feedback(?) and it all revolves around the very last screenshot: firstly I would strongly urge that you change the texture around the windows and any other place that you have used that texture from the metal patchwork?..in all honesty I really do not know what that is supposed to be; but the texture itself looks just horrible: to the same metal texture used on the other walls of the citadel eg. as shown in the 3rd and 4th screenshots.

That is actually rather interesting; so in other words it could be said that you have brought a bit of a new perspective to the citadel design aesthetic(?) (okay A: I had to look up how to spell that word; and. B: W.T.F. is that.!? While I know full well that it is not the only language to be; coming from someone who has spoken it all my life "English is fucked up!";) and I think that it looks pretty good actually: and I really like that you included the overwatch voice and even a combine helicopter flying around; those are nice atmospheric touches actually.

P.S. Mha your just happy with yourself;) nothing to apologize for.:D

TLDR: My previosly inexperience with making Combine architecture, combined (no pun intended :p) with the map's focus on gameplay, led to a lot of the decisions you see in the map today. Why thank you! As you might have seen in the description, this map was made for a GMod mapping contest. At the time, I wasn't super experienced with making maps for Half-Life, or, in this case, Garry's Mod. Most of my experience with the Hammer World Editor (the map-maker for Source games), had been in making Team Fortress 2 maps. You might actually notice that some of the basic aspects found throughout the detailing, such as the support pillars and out-of-bounds rooms leading to bright lights, are quite similar to the kind of stuff found in TF2's Spytech bases. Also, I focused on the gameplay aspects of this map first, more so than my other GMod maps, so a lot of the detailing had to fit around a certain layout and dimensions. I also just wanted to try something a bit different to help the map stand out, while still (hopefully) remaining true to the general look and feel of the Universal Union.

That's not a bad idea. I am thinking of making a "Citadel 2," of sorts, as a remastered and expanded version. Perhaps that would be a sandbox map/ have a sandbox variant. Thanks for the idea!

Hey folks! Just a quick update, sorry to keep you all waiting. Unfortunately, I've had some issues trying to update the Garry's Mod Addon file. What does this mean? Well, TTT Citadel won't be receiving any updates until I can figure this out. Super sorry to keep you guys in the dark, hopefully I can update it eventually. In the meantime, this is where I get off. Thanks so much for your support everyone, I seriously can't believe how much this map of mine blew up! Keep on creating!

Alright, I've made an updated version of the map to address most of the issues people have found with the current one (such as the lack of many gun spawns). Once I get a chance to playtest it, hopefully today, with some friends I'll be sure to update it here. Thanks for all of the feedback everyone!

Was looking for more TTT maps for me and my friends. This one looks amazing and cool, but I struggled to find any gun spawns even with plenty of time in free cam. Add more gun spawns and you'll have a perfect map!

Great looking map, however, i found that there are very few gun spawns and you can open any door by hitting it with a crowbar. (you can change this in "ttt_map_settings"). other than that, it was a good map.

No problem! Also, some people thought there were not enough guns available. Personally I always get some damage when I hop on the moving platforms in the back, which is annoying. I'd like to play the map again after some changes, as I think the base concept is fine. Please send me a message when you release an update.

Yeah, I was hoping I could distinguish the two sides easily enough with how I detailed it now, but I can certainly do more to change both of them up. As for the airlock problem, I very well might increase the speed they open. Thanks so much for the feedback! Happy to hear people are playing on it!

We played the map with some friends (around 8), I thought it was cool but we found it hard to navigate due to the symmetry and the airlocks (which really slows down gameplay). Maybe close the doors more quickly and add some details to each side to distinguish parts?
