Hi again,
Thanks for the info =PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper.
I understand your frustration in not being able to complete it. Having checked it out, I can see you put a lot of good work into it, but as you say - it's lacking quite a lot.
Regards
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 9 Nov, 2024 @ 1:50pm
@Not.Silent It's lacking quite a lot.
I was going to do a remake of this route with terrain data so it wasn't just flat level ground.
I made this version before I knew how the games import terrain data worked.

The route has the correct latitude and longitude coordinates to input the correct terrain data, however that would have required me to raise all the current laid track.
However Google changed the method of getting the API key to use Google maps overlay in the game which was free at the time.

Hi =PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper and Cyclone. Now this is Final, I will now Subscribe and check it out for creating and publishing on.
I will acknowledge your creation when publishing. Well done.
Cyclone 3 Nov, 2024 @ 5:11pm
Can confirm it shows as final now. Will poke some people who make scenarios.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 2 Nov, 2024 @ 11:47am
@Cyclone Should be marked final now.
Providing the game recognizes me as the original up-loader.

I no longer have the original PC I started this route on, and I don't know if that's a determining factor.
Cyclone 28 Oct, 2024 @ 4:08pm
In the game, when publishing, you would find a button there that says to make the route final. Click that and you will update it again in its current form on your PC, and you will not be able to make any further update beyond that. This also unlocks scenarios to be uploaded for the route, which is why updates to the route would then be blocked. Just make sure every junction and path works, especially given the game's updates, before marking it as final. :steamhappy:

I did recently download the current form of the route, so if it's not installed I can guide you to have a clean version in the event you have to redownload it. The clean files are in the subscription archive, which is currently a WinRAR file at best. An update now would be in a different format that works with 7Zip.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 28 Oct, 2024 @ 3:52pm
@Cyclone I'm not sure how to do that to be honest.
I don't exactly put out many workshop items to be more familiar on how to do that.
I even tried Googling how to do it, but get directed to game library results.

I thought the title would have been sufficient to indicate it was finished.

Granted, now that I have a better understanding of versions, it should say Union Pacific Idaho and Ontario Oregon Finished Version v0.6.1 not 6.1

I almost had the track line finished, which would have taken less than an hour to do before I moved to adding buildings, roads, trees, weeds among other small details along the route.

Unfortunately, my PC at the time couldn't handle what the route currently has and kept crashing.
I no longer have the original file or means to use the built in tools the game has to finish or update this route.
Cyclone 27 Oct, 2024 @ 11:10pm
Hi. If this is a final version, can you please update it to say so? That way users can create and release scenarios for it so we can enjoy the route just that little bit more. :steamhappy:
Beeman 20 Mar, 2021 @ 10:02pm
I do know that google now bills for API data, But the limit is extremely high before they actually charge anything, I have an API account set up with them now and they said that I would not be billed unless I reached the maximum usage, which is like 200 gigs a month If i remember correctly, and they will stop data transfer unless I approve of the charge.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Mar, 2021 @ 7:32pm
Have the the terrain data to cover the following states Idaho, Washington, Oregon.
Most of Nevada and Utah and part of California connecting to Oregon and Nevada.

I don't think anyone's PC would be able to handle a route that covers all rail lines in those states plus detail.

1000 word limit part 2
At @43.253508,-115.8843042,146m/data=!3m1!1e3 google/maps is the intended end point for that part. Boise ID

Will try to add this part of the line @44.5218614,-116.0449218,146m/data=!3m1!1e3
Cascade ID

The original end point was going to be about @44.383166,-117.3065696,146m/data=!3m1!1e3
near Huntington Or.

Between those point's makes it a rather decent size route.

I can try to go further than Huntington, about @45.3487784,-118.1663128,21z
and attempt to get as close to @45.3569079,-117.2363022,18.76z as i can.

I do have a 64 bit PC, better than the one that i did this route with at the time.
Still get out of memory errors though not as bad or often as i used too.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Mar, 2021 @ 7:21pm
@Beeman
I had intended on redoing this route with the correct Lat and Long with imported terrain so that it's not going to be flat like this one is.

Unfortunately Google now requires billing info just to get a static map API key which is needed to use google maps in the game which is what i was using to lay track in the correct place.
Only thing i am missing to get started actually. Have the Terrain imported in the original starting area on this version.

1000 word limit part 1
Beeman 26 Jan, 2019 @ 8:08pm
Also if youve got a 64 bit computer, the new X64 version of train sim is 100x more stable than the old x32 version and supports a HUGE amount of data
Beeman 26 Jan, 2019 @ 8:06pm
I actually am an employee for the Idaho Northern and Pacific. I would be more than happy to provide pics, details and anything more you need. If youd do one thing for me lol. I work the Oregon branch of the Idaho Northern, which runs from La Grande OR to Elgin OR (22 Miles) I would LOVE to see a route based off of that but I am not very good at tranferring the DEV terrain files into Train Sim and actually building something using the Google Maps overlay, it looks horrible lol. And the manager of the INPR says that reopening the Thunder Mountain Line is something he would like to make happen in the near future.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:08pm
Would have been one comment if not for the 1000 limit which changes the order in which the comment is supposed to go.
Thanks Steam.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:05pm
I may consider taking another shot at making this route again not sure when though but it probably won't be any time soon.
Recently got a new PC so all the route files for the old and new route plus the terrain data i had for the area i don't have anymore nor do i remember the name of the site i got it from.
I also don't have Google maps linked to the game like before and will probably take me some time to figure out how to get all that set up and how to get it all working again.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:05pm
The reason i say "Was" is because i haven't worked on the new version since probably 2015 and about all that was added was the imported terrain and a few miles of track.
Stopped working on the route primarily because game crashes which were constant made me lose a considerable amount of work because unlike the flat version i was also adding scenery as i went.
Adding in the fact i was working on this alone for about 2 years and only had the game since 2012 and never having done a project like this before it burned most if not all of my motivation of doing it.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Jan, 2019 @ 5:04pm
My plan was to finish connecting the branch line that ran thru Boise back to the main line Image 3 for refrence which i had but unfortunatly my game crashed and lost all that time it took to connect that section.
Was going to add a few more miles of main line on that side of the route for AI reasons mostly.
My next task was to make the Thunder Mountain Line from Emmett to Cascade.
After that i was going to finish the other end of the line in Oregon near the Idaho state line which looking at google images in the game looked like a gravel pit yard of some sort near Wiezer Idaho.

I discontinued working on this workshop route with the intention of redoing it from scratch.
With the new improved version it was going to have imported terrain so that the route isn't all flat like this one is.
Was also going to use assets that are avalible to everyone. Meaning if it's DLC that you can still get unlike Portland Terminal.
Merciless Reaper 18 Jan, 2019 @ 4:02am
IM a Boise Local, If you need help with getting this started let me know ;). Drive by the cut off daily and have a book on the old short line from Nampa to Emmett. Sad that the Thunder Mountain Line Shut down. Last time i saw any of thier stock was when i was in Emmett a few weeks ago. Not much there anymore which is a shame. The line to Cascade is starting to fall into disrepair.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 25 Jan, 2018 @ 4:13pm
The classic american assets comes from the Train simulator Delux editon 2012 so you would already have it installed if thats the case.
Will post a link if i can find it in the store if you don't have it.
Usually the two easiest ways to check if you have it is if you go into editor mode and should be in assets "Kuju"

The other way to check is to go into where your game is installed.
My file path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Assets\Kuju
Should be 3 folders inside labled RailSimulator, RailSimulatorCore and RailSimulatorUS.

The Portland Terminal route DLC unfortunatly was retired meaning you can't buy it anywhere.
Only one site i have found where you could Possibly ie haven't confirmed as i already own it is off a site that isn't secure to my knowladge and wouldn't recommend it.
Proceed at your own risk.

I am sure there are other ways that are safer to some degree but none that i have found so far.
The Bush Zebra 25 Jan, 2018 @ 3:07pm
not to sound too nooby but where would i find the Portland Terminal trackage dlc if i may ask as well as the classic american assets? could not find ether in the steam store.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 25 Jan, 2018 @ 3:30am
Been 4 years and haven't been on this route in that amount of time.

Was starting on a remake of this route which would have actual elevation, hill's grades using the ingame terrain import data for the actual area instead of a flat terrain.
However do to conflicting issues (Workshop route IE not mine) and hardware issues the project is on hold.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 25 Jan, 2018 @ 3:30am
Portland Terminal for Trackage, Classic American Assets.

Donner Pass Trackage but was attempting to replace it with the Portland Terminal trackage as there was more selection in track i could use and well also thought it fit better with the RL track than the Donner track does.

As for the base ground texture i don't recall but it's either Marias Pass or Sherman Hill.

Also have no idea what i used Pacific Surfliner for other than for a fast train to look for flaw points in the track to get a smooth ride instead of a hard to notice small bit of track maybe a foot length worth that wasn't straight.
Had a couple disasters that were not part of the plan.
Hopefully i got them all can't remember.
The Bush Zebra 24 Jan, 2018 @ 9:12pm
what required dlcs does this one need to work if i may ask?
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 23 Sep, 2016 @ 2:29am
Well Boise ID does have some steam locomotives one of which can be seen in the preview images 3rd to last image.
My parents went on the Thunder Mountian Line for there anaversery think they called it the haunted dinner party or something like that.

Was about a week or two later that i heard they were closing it down.
Beeman 22 Sep, 2016 @ 10:39pm
Yes the Thunder Mountian Line. From what ive heard around the locals in Horseshoe Bend is that they wanted a big tourist railroad company to buy it. I honestly think they could really boost revenue by getting a steam loco or two haha
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 22 Sep, 2016 @ 4:21am
Not for some time now haven't really been that motivated in building it on top of computer issues or it's the game not sure which has been playing a big part of not being motivated.
Constant game crashes at annoying rate when trying to build mostly.

However rest assured i will get it worked on.

I will do a release to workshop once i get the line from Cascade ID to Emmet ID, which was mainly used for passenger tour rides which sadly was recently shut down or at least that's what i heard.
I will start from there and continue adding on.

It will take some time as this current version took roughly 2 years to make and that's not even detailed to what i plan to do to the remake.
Beeman 21 Sep, 2016 @ 11:29pm
Have you been working on your remake of this route that you were talking about before?
angelpraises7987 30 Aug, 2016 @ 8:18am
ihave it downloaded but i can't find it in my sanarios
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 23 Aug, 2016 @ 9:05pm
I didn't really add much for scenery just some spots hear and there as i tend to work on one thing at a time and track laying was what i was more focused on before adding scenery.
Unfortunatly i don't intend to make any changes to the terrain aka no hills or mountains.

The rebuild i have planned i will be using the in-game terrain inport system for that so it's not flat like this one is.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 23 Aug, 2016 @ 9:05pm
@Sparky The Alicorn of Chaos
So far only Nampa ID, Payette ID, Wiezer ID, Boise ID, Caldwell ID, Emmete ID, Fruitland ID, are what i can think of at the moment.
Where i would have liked the line to stop in Idaho for this route is Idaho Falls ID, and the branch off that is currently as far as i know is a INPR line that goes to Cascade ID.

The route is mostly in Idaho though does go into Oregon OR.

Going from Payette ID, to Wiezer ID, is in Idaho but if you keep going past Wiezer ID, the line continues in Idaho for a bit before crossing the Idaho Snake river into Oregon OR.
Going the other direction from Payette ID, there is a main line and a branch off that looks more like a siding INR but that goes to Fruitland ID, to Emmet ID, and eventually ending at Cascade ID.
Staying on the main line crossing over two trussle bridges over the Snake river into Ontario OR shortly before going back into Idaho again to i think Nampa ID.
The Bush Zebra 23 Aug, 2016 @ 5:32pm
what other parts of idaho does this route pass through if i may ask?
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 29 Mar, 2016 @ 3:09pm
Donner Pass i think is the ground texture and Portland Terminal uses the track mostly i had not finished replacing all the track with Portland Terminal track yet.
Shermain Hill i used for manual switches as for everything else i am not sure.
Started making this in 2013

I was trying to remove the amount of DLC's needed for this route so i don't remember what all uses what except Portland Terminal which uses the track and some buildings.

You can still get the route but will be missing a lot of the route.
Not that there is much scenery to look at.

However i am remaking this route from the ground up again which will and i hope will use less reqired DLC's
Epicgamervore 28 Mar, 2016 @ 6:48pm
i only have the pacific surfliner and shermain hill will it still work?
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Feb, 2016 @ 2:54pm
Posted couple videos on youtube of starting up the new version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzcVGsIPRyE should be able to notice what is going to be different and what i was originally trying to do with this one which lead me to discontinue it.

I can only make ten minute videos so it doesn't show much but i am hoping to get some help from good route builders in getting it worked on and have good detail.
So far though not having much luck in finding anyone to help with the project.
Which when i do get help it shouldn't take as long to build.
Beeman 19 Jan, 2016 @ 8:18pm
Well I just took a look at it (Im missing a couple of the assets needed to view the entire thing but I did look through it and it its about what i expected haha with most of the landmark details like the ontario underpass and payette overpass and stuff but when you ever finish your new revision of it id be way excited to check it out haha
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 19 Jan, 2016 @ 6:55pm
@abeemanator A fellow Payette resident.
As for the details or scenery it's mostly empty not going to lie
I have done a little work on the payette area and a little of the Ontario section
I spent most of my time laying down track as acuratly as i could with google maps in-game
Once you see how much track there is it should be easy to understand why it's lacking in scenery

Currently i am rebuilding this route from the ground up again with changes such as terrain which instead of being flat it will have the actuall terrain imported into the game which is why this one i marked as the final version because when i tried doing it on this map i actually ended up breaking it and couldn't fix it
It will be some time before the new one is ready for workshop.
Beeman 19 Jan, 2016 @ 6:07pm
This looks pretty cool I actually live in Payette near the tracks and have watched the Portland Rose 844 pass my house, Im excited to download it and see how well you have the Ontario, Payette, Emmett, and the Nampa yards set up. I like the screenshot of the Ontario yard and overpass, I drive under it nearly daily haha
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 17 Jun, 2015 @ 9:10pm
Hey everyone. So i have decided to remake this route from scratch since what i was going to do for the update is causing issues. I will get as much done as possible for the new route which will have noticable differences in it. Be sure to keep an eye out for it i will let you know when its been uploaded to workshop. As for this route it is going to be changed to finished.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 13 Jun, 2015 @ 10:09pm
New update coming soon.
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 15 Dec, 2014 @ 1:29am
i will have to update slide pictures because i have changed more of the line to Portland Terminal Track once i finish replacing what i need to all the track will use PT track instead of a mix of different route tracks only DLC's you will need are Marias Pass for the base ground texture and some scenery and Portland Term for track and scenery all the other DLC's it says it requires were only used for a building here and there SH only is used for manual track switch overs and thats it More updates to come hope i can find some route creaters who can help me with this project i have been doing alone since day one i havent given up on it yet it will get done eventually Although if the TS15 creaters make this route before i get it finished i will be a little upset but i will also be happy but its all the more better if you made something yourself that everyone can enjoy that makes it worth it
InTheHouse 28 Nov, 2014 @ 10:13pm
I dunno if I can get it, dnt have Portland Terminal :\
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Nov, 2014 @ 5:32pm
i got the 2d map pictures in now the last picture is not in the current update version 6 it will be in version 7 and more however i have been making this route by myself and given the size of this route is challenging i hope i can actually get help in making this route such as hills scenery and detail and is able to use google map overlay ingame so it will help make this route get done faster and also be nice to look at while going down the line
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Nov, 2014 @ 10:53pm
@PassarinoTrain That UP steam locomotives number is X2295 location is in Boise Idaho as for any other information i do not know however that would be kind of cool if that really was the train he operated on
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Nov, 2014 @ 10:38pm
also forgot to mention route now has working turn table which is also on the real thing
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 16 Nov, 2014 @ 10:37pm
just did a update and added some 2d map pictures of the route which is zoomed all the way out to give a idea of how big this route is
Passarino 16 Nov, 2014 @ 9:09pm
My something-great grandfather drove that train (I think, if it's the one near the waterpark he might have, the last picture is what Im talking about in google maps)
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 25 Jul, 2014 @ 2:13am
not much of Pacific Surfliner was used just a few buildings here and there
Queen Beelzebub D.&R.G. 450 24 Jul, 2014 @ 4:12pm
i cant have it i dont have Pacific Surfliner:ss13hammer:
=PgT= Zero_CN_Reaper  [author] 18 Apr, 2014 @ 2:27pm
for other subscribers keep in mind the Y split intersection as shown in photograph 22 going left is a 25mph for that turn i recommend going 15mph or 10mph if you have a loaded train a empty train i recomend going 20mph
