@undercover This is a widespread problem for all servers. The solution of replacing steamclient.so for Linux servers or the .dll on Windows servers works perfectly. I've been reading that some paid servers revert the steamclient.so version to the old version after a reboot; on IndiferentBrocoli, it worked perfectly. In our case, we applied it because it affected two different mods as of today, one of them a tile pack, and disabling the mod was no longer feasible.

mod isnt working please fix

None of the aforementioned fixes solved this mod not loading on servers. Only mod out of a 150+ mod list that caused this issue.

Just so anyone else having the issue knows, you're not the only one and yes it is this mod specifically.

How could I update the Windows stuff for the server via shockbyte control panel? I get no access to the Steam.dll's

For those still struggling, I used this Reddit thread to troubleshoot.

https://www.reddit.com/r/projectzomboid/comments/1lyw5ww/psa_for_all_server_owners_who_is_facing_steam_mod/

My server is hosted by Indifferent Broccoli (Linux) and I have Windows. To get the actual steamclient.so file I needed to replace in two locations in my server control panel, I joined the Discord linked in the Reddit post. In the #announcements channel, there's a thread titled "Server Unable to Updated Mods..." that has a direct link to the steamclient.so file you'll need.

I downloaded that file, backed up the existing steamclient.so files from my control panel, and replaced them. I then restarted my server and watched the Console tab to ensure it was working. Took about 15m to restart since I have ~250 mods, but the server eventually went back live and my crew was able to successfully join.

Hope this helps, good luck all.

in some way this mod is preventing my server from starting up, an error with updating or something, somebody knows how to fix it?
Mopar Guy 15 Jul @ 2:30pm
@LEXXXOLET How do I do that? I can't find the .dll files where you say they are on Windows.

LEXXXOLET 15 Jul @ 8:38am
Server owners are advised to update their steamclient.so (for linux), you can get them at your steamcmd folder.

For windows, need to update steamclient.dll, steamclient64.dll, tier0_s.dll, tier0_s64.dll, vstdlib_s.dll and vstdlib_s64.dll. You can get them from steamcmd as well.

It is not a mod issue, it is PZ using outdated API.
mayhem_2011 14 Jul @ 1:11pm

Yeah i hope that the author has contacted steam support or tried to troubleshoot with steam to see if the issue can be mended.

As a temporary fix, just roll back to the last update from 19 January until they sort it out. I’ve tested it.

@Reactor
In Nitrado you should have some FTP Credentials in your Dashboard.
You can connect yourself with an Client like FileZilla and basically move around files like in your local machine.
3milysarah 13 Jul @ 12:40pm
@ASINSINA same I just uninstalled it because it was breaking my dedicated server. Every other mod was fine just this one for some reason. Hope the issue gets fixed soon! Love this mod so much!
Killazoo 13 Jul @ 12:31pm
we had to completly mover our server and some lost a few things on map. but after installing this and moving server ports, were back online
Woodland 13 Jul @ 12:24pm
@Omni This is a steam issue, not the mod developers issue.
ASINSINA 13 Jul @ 11:31am

Porque no te conseguís un trabajo honesto amigo?, tírate unas pruebas antes de subir a producción algún cambio "radical", si no rompes los servidores payaso...
Alchemist 13 Jul @ 9:54am
@Reactor Oh, I do not know. I've never used Nitrado and I don't know if it's possible to transfer data via SFTP. Below is a new possible solution from reddit.
Rak Turbo 13 Jul @ 9:47am

@Alchemist Thx :steamthumbsup:
Nodoiuna 13 Jul @ 7:19am
SteamCMD allows you to manually update the mod.
Vingt-_Trois 13 Jul @ 7:07am
I see
Thanks for the information @Alchemist and @luliela
luliela 13 Jul @ 6:59am
@Vingt-_Trois - Mods being uploaded, updated and rolled back are not being configured correctly by steam, and requires manual adjustment. Hopefully it is fixed soon
Overact 13 Jul @ 6:56am
Fix from @Alchemist works like a charm ! Thx
Alchemist 13 Jul @ 6:55am
@Vingt-_Trois try this fix. It is necessary only for the server owner. The players don't have to do anything. Yesterday, there was a similar problem with the Ammo Maker mod and it was fixed in a similar way. We found out that the problem only occurs on dedicated servers. And it will continue with each new update of any mod.
Vingt-_Trois 13 Jul @ 6:45am
@luliela If repairing the configuration files as indicated by @Alchemist fixes the error, I don't think the problem lies with Steam.
