Dude, this was f_cking fantastic! I want part 2 REALLY badly! My only problem is that, the second test was kind of confusing and unnessecarily hard (is that how you spell it?).

Is no one going to point out that the creator was last online 412 days ago? I'm pretty sure Great Britain was a still a part of the EU back then...

My point is, we will probably never see any more of: "The Awakening".

The button that starts the lift platform is too far from the lift. If anyone can throw a cube that far and land on the button, they are extremely gifted or incredible lucky. I am neither. It’s a million to one shot for me and I don’t like those odds. Stuff like that should not be in a problem solving game. Move the button next to the lift or put in a few seconds delay to allow the player a reasonable time to step onto the lift.

This is acceptable for a first Hammer map as I've seen worse, but for the puzzles in the map, not particularly good either. I can say though you tried.

@Seattlegamer I basically used a custom eye texture, created a block covering the original core eye with the custom eye texture on the block. Quite ingenious I think.

A great map indeed, but as many have said, it needs tuning, with some panels, walls other similar stuff which caugths players eyes.
The voice acting... it is something you don't see in every map. I was realy amazed by the voice and the lines were good. How did you get him to voice act? friends? money friend?

All in all, well made map with some eye cathing glitches which is just a minor problem.

@kerning I agree with you on yoru first point, there may need to be a visual timer displayed in the next update. Although in the second test when you have to place the cube on the button, it is actually really simple if you stand on the lift and throw the cube onto the button. It may take a few tries but I get it first time a lot. And yes, that was my intention to confuse the player, thinking that they have to place the cube on the button, when really they have to throw it whilst standing on the lift.

The first test was nice, except for the "timed" floor button, which threw me off because there's no visual indicator that the panel flipped slower than usual. You need to make it clearer.

The ending of second test is broken with the square button by the lift. It's placed too far from the lift, which makes reaching the lift pretty frustrating when you didn't want the cube to fall into the button too fast. Bring the button closer to the lift and it should be fine.

Good map concept, need polishes both visual and puzzle elements.

As you probably already know, the art could use some fine-tuning (translation: more time/work in Hammer). If you have any future maps, try to improve on those as well if you haven't already. I have to say though, that the detail is already very good....

There's a hole in the ceiling above the panel that fell on the floor that allows players to leave the map with the funnel, and it's possible to place portals in the start, return there from the first test chamber, and get stuck.

I just found a bug, if you are fast enough in the first chamber using portals, you can go behind the panels that are starting to go back into their walls. I just turned noclip on to get out (also I like to replay maps.)

Not bad except for the cube throwing bit. And it would be nicer if the laser wasn't *quite* so close to the edge of the bottomless pit.
