A nice little puzzle, it took me a while to come up with an answer. Thanks for sharing!

Fun map.
Čolibri 29 Apr, 2018 @ 12:38pm
Really beautiful decor. In comparison, the puzzle is disappointing; a poor cube surrounded by lots of fizzlers.
I have a texture glitch on the npc woman's head and the door with revolving handle.

tricky little map. really enjoyed it!

good map

The game crashes just before you turn the corner opposite the closing vertical door.

The initial way doesn't require some fast portal placement, but I have seen people solve it in a similar way you have described. The way I designed it in my head was putting the cube on the towers platform, shoot a portal up and then down . This way you have all the time you need, just that sometimes the cube may go out of the position...

I would change up quite few things in the map, both graphically and a little bit of the puzzle, like extending the towers platform to have more mobility.

Thanks for the feedback.

I thought the degree of manual dexterity was too great. I always thought of Portal 2 as a puzzle game for a ‘Thinking man’. A map where one has to shoot fast and shoot straight multiple times is a little unfair for older guys like me who don’t have the reflexes and accuracy of a teenager. The part where I had to put a portal at the bottom of the ‘drop box’ before the cube fell thru was a bit slim for me. It took me many tries. Although I made it thru, from my perspective, I’m giving this map a thumbs down. But having done that, I will still say it was overall a good map.

A great review. Looking back at this map it has quite a lot of problems/glitches or what not which I didn't noticed when I made this map. Heck, I didn't even building cubemaps. Probably because this was my first big map (second map released).
If these map series had gotten bigger love, I would had probably went back and fix or re-do the map.

Anywho, I hope you enjoy the other 2 parts as well.
Thanks again for the review.

Glitch: after getting the Portal Gun, I tried going back the way I came & got trapped outside the walls.
Petutski 22 Jul, 2015 @ 8:34pm
Well done! Nicely tricky logic! Thanks!
Pamsy 26 May, 2015 @ 8:56pm
Great test -- not too many elements, lots of moments where you think -- how could this *possibly* work?!
KyloX  [author] 13 Mar, 2015 @ 1:05am
There is walkthrough video if your stuck, just remember, there is always a solution to a problem, you just need to put the puzzle pieces right.
Arokthis 12 Mar, 2015 @ 10:27pm
I'm stuck in the very beginning. How the [bleep] am I supposed to reach the button up on the wall that (i assume) moves the nearby panel?
dire.fcs 2 Feb, 2015 @ 5:32am
Nice work.

Great Map..I love the old style..and the puzzle was challenging too. thanks
h99pilot 16 Oct, 2014 @ 10:19am
Dang, I shoulda known better.
KyloX  [author] 15 Oct, 2014 @ 9:27pm
Hey @h99pilot, no spoilers please, plus you probably missed the easter egg, that is why you need that cube.
h99pilot 15 Oct, 2014 @ 3:29pm
I can't believe I carried the reflector cube all the way to the last light bridge for nothing, lol.
bonkrood 12 Oct, 2014 @ 12:08pm
That was great, took a long time, didn't see the upper button at first, then it still took me awile. :)
quat 20 Sep, 2014 @ 2:07pm
good test! Spent a really long time trying to fling myself into the triangle fizzler area lol. :D

MAKE MORE NAO (please :3)
Rlski 5 Aug, 2014 @ 3:31am
Didn't finish it yet, but as far as I've been, you have really managed to catch the 70-80s atmosphere of these undergound spheres. Liked the attention to details : particles, overlays, lights coming from unreachable rooms... Keep mapping bro !
Wolf bytes 15 Jun, 2014 @ 5:36pm
Very nicely done! And man do I love the detail you put into this! I can't wait to see the next part, I do hope there is one.
Wolf bytes 15 Jun, 2014 @ 5:21pm
I found a slight glitch,, I feel out of the world with the first vertical closing doors as they closed, I just jumped at them and fell through... Might be a one time thing, or there might be a gap. Thought I'd let you know.
I'm going to restart and continue playing, since this looks like a very awesome map and I can't wait to see all the detail that you put in! (Love it so far!)
Konke 13 Jun, 2014 @ 3:08am
My first impression was that this map is well made and I can see effort has been put into it. The elevator travelling down at the start makes the area feel alive, like a human was in it. What else would it be? This is uncommon in this game and it made me feel curious.

In the second room (with the radio music), and this is purely estethic, the ceiling lamps have a light source too close to the ceiling. It makes a white shine appear above the lamp which looks weird. Perhaps you should just use light_spot? Not sure though. And I won't go any deeper into that analyze.

The first real testing area's got a cool presentation but it's a bit laggy. Have you optimized it?

Nice floating particles beneath the lights. Are those custom?

The puzzle signs on the planks are great!

I figured out how to enable the triangle puzzle but then I got stuck, or our of patience. Cool map so far, keep up the good work!
stormsend 7 Jun, 2014 @ 12:02pm
That opening sequence is awesome. As I was going through, I thought, if this is it and there's no puzzle then it's still good. Then I found out there is a hard puzzle to go along with the great visuals. Nice. I didn't solve exactly like [Tom K] but pretty near. Of couse I was a bit longer. I nearly missed the pedestal button up high.? You did a very nice job. Thank you and I'll be looking at more of your work.
KyloX  [author] 6 Jun, 2014 @ 11:42pm
Thanks for the feedback, it realy gets me on continueing the project.
It took me quite a lot of time to make it, didn't counted days as time to time I would sit and give a hour or 2 on continueing.

At the moment, doing a side project, I will continue this after that.
Thanks again.

(to bad such maps like mine aren't noticed a lot)
commander2005 6 Jun, 2014 @ 4:58pm
Very good optical design, many details, I think, you worked a few months on this project.
Compared with the huge administration area this test chamber looks like the antechamber of a huge test area. I liked this test! I'm looking forward to play your next chapters, perhaps 19 more :) ? Then I want to ride on the huge elevator, get into the office rooms and a little bit offstage.
risona-kamo 30 May, 2014 @ 3:01pm
Very good, took a little more time then expected. I was tricked with that room in the background behind the button that closed the door. Kept trying to figure out how to get to it for the longest time.
Thirty1Mortis 24 May, 2014 @ 4:52pm
beautifully done. Can't wait for more. How long did it take to make?
TS_Mind_Swept 22 May, 2014 @ 7:13pm
where's the rest of them? This one was interesting and difficult, but there's almost always that "Ah-ha" moment, but now i want to go through the rest of them. There's this big ol lead in like there's much more, so where are they? I WANT MORE!
7/10 for this one
jerruti 20 May, 2014 @ 11:58am
I finally solve it. nice puzzle.:p2cube:
but, pressing button is hard to :me:
KyloX  [author] 20 May, 2014 @ 1:51am
Thanks for the feedback. It maybe is kinda of a DOOPE that there isn't any gels, but I had this puzzle in my head and wanted to put it in and I did... cause I can.

At the moment I have a lot of things on my hands, but already have started building it piece by piece. And it will have gels this time.

Once again, thanks.
DieGuteLaunePille 19 May, 2014 @ 2:44pm
Respect! The fucking button^^ (was in stealthmode a looooong loooong time ^^)
AsinoEsel 19 May, 2014 @ 11:03am
How is this map rated 3.5/5? THIS DESERVES 5/5.
Visuals: Epic. Simply amazing (look at the screenshots!)
Puzzle: Nice. Challenging, but far from frustrating.
Thumbs up + Favorised. :p2cube:
wildgoosespeeder 18 May, 2014 @ 10:47pm
Nice puzzle but it felt lacking not using Portal 2 elements such as gels. Hope to see more for this collection.

Yaa... there isn't any soundscapes (not yet familar with it that much). I noticed that the sounds got quieter after putting a background music (after leaving the waiting room) and I didn't knew why that happened nor knew how to fix it, so tryed what I could.
The Sojourner 15 May, 2014 @ 2:29pm
Impressive work! Kinda reminds me of Seji-evan's stuff (only I can't explore all those little vignettes). While I was playtesting, I noticed something funky (could just be me though...not sure): any soundscape I try to play ends up sounding quieter than it should. BTW are there any soundscapes in this map? I used ug_cave_ext_01, ug_cave_int_03, and ug_sphere_water_01.

momentum puzzle (with no gels) in an underground style - DOOOPE!!!!! nice visuals, voice lines and the overal puzzle, which I don't think is that hard as kerning said, I don't even find it more than medium. no complaints; I'm waiting for the other parts of it. favorite-izing right now!
KyloX  [author] 15 May, 2014 @ 9:30am
When you don't have friend tester by your side, it is hard to tell if the chamber is easy, medium or hard difficulty, and so I turned to public feedback and walkthroughs.

I think this is mid difficulty due that it is quite small and doesn't have a lot of elements, but it give a though on how to solve it. The way it should be made, simple, yet difficult.
