I don't know what the game does if it finds the same duchy defined in two regions, which is happening. What I can say is that I have reports of ppl not being able to migrate to provinces that are supposed to be steppe and I don't touch that area of the game.

@Cardolam, I'm a bit skeptical, I'm not changing geographical regions, I'm just adding new ones iirc. And the new CE2 Backgrounds should take precedence over MBI's

Probably won't be able to take a good look at it until the end if the months

I am positive now that given the changes MBI makes to map_data/geographical_locations cause serious issues with migration of Mongols.
The mod needs an update.

Hey @Askil,

Are you sure the new changes made to the geographical regions related with steppe made in vanilla are taken in consideration by MBI?

This can potentially have other implications for gameplay related with steppe locations not being considered "steppe" anymore.

Notice also that I am seeing the vanilla file inside map_data/geografical_locations has been updated for KotS while yours have not.

Please, understand I am speculating a bit here, but I have had a report from a player complaining about this issue and as I integrated your mod into mine (Dark Ages), it crossed my mind something might be happening here.

Just a heads up to let you know today's CK3 v1.13.1 patch messed with the 01_event_backgrounds.txt file. Probably your mod needs to be updated too.

So far I could not detect anything wrong by keeping your present file but just let you know...

@Saroodai Yeah only this mod. It's possible it could be the file names, though I've never seen this particular issue. Is the version of the mod 1.13 ?

If you know how to locate the mod folder, could you check in common\event_backgrounds the file: 01_event_backgrounds.txt if the file doesn't have any mention of EP3, then it means that it is indeed not updating properly on your computer

@Askil So, I unsub and resub this mod and I use it alone. Issue still present. So, do you mean my game not updated correctly ?!.. If your meaning only mod must be update I can confirm that still not working as it should .. I remember same issue was present for background mods I don't remember, author updating and everything went well.. I think maybe files names or something ?!

All Road to Power DLC background missing .. I thought only 2 or three .. Now I check and around 18 pics missing..

There is vanilla night camp BG missing with this mod. I think around 2 or 3 missing .. Hope you can fix it ..

@Spinoza I don't have any issues with the new backgrounds, so I'm guessing the mod did not update properly on your side. Try unsubscribing and subscribing again.

Hi, I still have an issue where backgrounds for Byzantine events don't display at all (the background is grey, with only the characters being shown).

@Askil There is an issue with the latest update, I am getting a lot of errors in error.log similar to:

Error: "Unexpected token: wilderness_scope, near line: 2910" in file: "common/event_backgrounds/01_event_backgrounds.txt" near line: 3046

I looked at the file and indeed there seems to be a misplaced "wilderness_scope" on line 2910.

@isma I don't add any feast related illustrations and as such I don't modify that part of the script, it might be a vanilla issue or another mod that could be the problem

Hello! I really like this mod, though I was wondering, does this mod change the feast background for christian iberians? It really puts me off the immersion when I see islamic customs in a castillian feast. Thanks!

@Count Pooperfarter, that's a really interesting idea. However, the devs designed it such that when multiple backgrounds qualify for display, the first one is always chosen, so there's no randomness possible. One workaround could be to assign a different background to each adjacent barony instead of just limiting it to the region. But that’s a monstrous task I wouldn't be willing to tackle

I agree with @Count Pooperfarter. Less strict availability of the backgrounds would be a plus for this fantastic mod.

So yeah grouping a bunch of backgrounds together and occasionally shuffling them would be so huge for this mod. I would say to be very generous to what can pop up unless it is very out of place like snow in summer but things that are very similar like desert, oasis and dryland backgrounds could all be together. A lot of the event specific backgrounds and terrain specific castles could be used no problem.

Maybe randomize some of them together an example is the forest background that is only accessible when traveling in England should be available for all of western Europe. Just widening the range the backgrounds could occur and making the game shuffle through a group of possible backgrounds should do the trick.

My problem with this mod is not that the backgrounds look bad but that many of the backgrounds are rare to come by. If you implemented a way of these backgrounds popping up when you are in your castle and not just when you are traveling as well as making them not so specific that would be great.

@Sei Long You have two options, you can publish a submod or share the translation so that I integrate it directly in the mod. Either way, you will will find the locs in the mod folder, localization/english, from there you create your own path for french locs so localization/french copy every files from localization/english to your new folder and, change _l_english to _l_french , both file name and in it, and you can translate the locs
