haha good one! so i figured that was an intended red herring. just wasnt sure if there was supposed to be another way to disable it.
The Sojourner  [author] 19 Nov, 2018 @ 12:49pm
@jandlml, GLaD you liked it. I've been waiting for someone to notice that fizzler gag .
jandlml 18 Nov, 2018 @ 4:45pm
not sure the intended but i was not able to disable the middle fizzle wall the laser didnt work. i did use blue gel on the frankencube fun map,i do like breaking the monitor :steamhappy:
zeo1337 17 May, 2018 @ 12:33pm
In no way whatsoever does this require gliches. Are you guys really that blind?
dire.fcs 8 Oct, 2016 @ 1:04pm
I found another way to get in the exit: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=777341881; don't know if it's your playthrough but i coated the frankie again but this time i used it to jump and grab it to the funnel and i still didn't disable the laser catcher fizzler.
The Sojourner  [author] 17 Apr, 2016 @ 6:31pm
@dire.fcs, GLaD you enjoyed this one. You're not the first to discover that shortcut actually.
Have you tried deactivating the fizzler anyway? You might find it funny.
dire.fcs 17 Apr, 2016 @ 2:28am
Nice fun map and great visuals; my solution doesn't need to deactivate the fizzler in the middle room: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=667376209 : I used the coated frankie to jump and pass over that fizzler ...
ncrecc 7 Apr, 2016 @ 12:31pm
Oh, how hilarious : I waited for half a minute just for the frankenturret to hop it's way on over to the button that was hidden in a pit for no reason, and then guess what happened: it missed!!

Excellent map.
damon 8 Nov, 2015 @ 8:47pm
The map has real nice graphics the puzzle hurt my brain and now i have autism thanks mom
tanger2b 8 Nov, 2015 @ 8:41pm
This map had many very cool small tricks that I love and I cum harder when beating map than when beating meat. I enjoyed much clarity involved with corners and when I moved the frankencube to the other side I screamed hard not only because being penetrated but also because happy so I like with thumbs up and add to favorites.

Wildgoosebuttsucker is a queerbag who is too busy imagining faults in other people to escape the fact that he was dropped on his head continually until he was 20 years old.

I add you on steam and hope you come to speak with me because I am very cute twink and I hope we can being friends soon.
tanger2b 8 Nov, 2015 @ 8:39pm
I enjoy the simple details and I like how there isn't not many elements and the map are divided well and still requires lot of backtracking while solving first time. There was not a very much a lot going on visually, but I pooped out the little bit of shit that Jim hadn't forcefully removed with his rock hard willy when i saw that chamber moving in the distance after I got up to that laser cube button. Breaking the wheatley monitor was cute but I FUCKING HATED IT BUT ITWAS AWESOME SO I ALSO LOVED IT ITS A LOVE/HATE RELATIONSHIP LIKE MY STEPDAD.

All bitches complain about fake laser and slow box but that is because they are shit. They play this game for less than second and think they are cute boys. I KNOW CUTE BOYS I AM ONE I AM SEXY TWINK BOY SO SHUT UP!
tanger2b 8 Nov, 2015 @ 8:39pm
I've played a whole bunch of maps and this is my shit. Like daaaaaamn dude ur fucking sexy, no? YEEEESSSSSS!!!!! This sexy map is like beautiful woman and also like map from good days in 2012 and such. This map makes me think of days on TWP when the police would respond to my 911 calls pertaining to my abusive stepfather. Maps made in these days are like 911 operators who tell me to shut up and let Jim continue thrusting while one hand is still on the phone and the other is in my pants.
TG 5 Oct, 2015 @ 11:47am
Nice visuals p0rtalmaster, I thought having only one monitor is a bit dull, so you could've been adding more.

Go for it.
Nobody No-One 24 Feb, 2015 @ 1:10pm
P2 keeps crashing when I try to save the demo to a .avi
Mind if I just send a .dem?
The Sojourner  [author] 23 Feb, 2015 @ 8:51pm
Sure. Playthroughs are always welcome.
Nobody No-One 21 Feb, 2015 @ 4:03pm
There is a way to do this map w/o a blue frankencube. Mind if I post a walkthrough video?
The Sojourner  [author] 18 Feb, 2015 @ 11:31am
Thanks for playing.
Yuuubi 17 Feb, 2015 @ 1:47pm
I just finished the map... I loved it ! I didn't coat the frankencube in the blue gel and everything worked fine for me. I was stuck at the very end and then I understood the solution ! Great design overall :)

Piranha.A's laser field bug happened to me too. I feel no guilt in also noclipping around. In fact, waiting for the cube to walk through the field was so TEDIOUS that I just noclipped every time. Really, don't encourage that.
kimist108 1 Jan, 2015 @ 6:39pm
Ohhhh, that was mean. That defunct laser light that did not get rid of the fizzler. Once I stopped taking the wrong cube over to the exit area for the first cube to take over and swithced my thinking to take over the other cube first, I had my aha moment. Watched Piranha's walkthough. Did not use blue-coated cube at all. Just portals. Maybe the name of this map should be just Walking. That would be a big hint.
The Sojourner  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 4:13pm
Thanks. See you 'round the workshop.
wildgoosespeeder 1 Jan, 2015 @ 11:30am
I did p0rtalmaster. It is a nice map.
The Sojourner  [author] 1 Jan, 2015 @ 10:32am
Lemme just summarize my thoughts about this map once and for all: it was made mostly for esthetics, not so much for the too-slow, too-confusing, too-ambiguous puzzle :P

I know you can see how poor the puzzle design was, because as a matter of a fact, coating the frankencube in gel is not required. But please, wildgoosespeeder, take a break from criticizing the puzzle to enjoy the looks of the map that I worked hard to debug.
wildgoosespeeder 31 Dec, 2014 @ 6:23pm
This is nowhere near "medium"! It's very hard to process because so many concepts are thrown into one map that I have never seen before and needs teaching. I don't feel bad looking at Piranha.A's solution. I would have never guessed coat the frankenturret in blue gel because they don't bounce around . That is something that I'm pretty sure that Valve overlooked or had technical problems so they hid that fact because no official Wheatley chamber requires a frankencube to be coated in gel, or allowed the player to coat a frankencube in blue gel , at least if I remembered correctly. Taking that oversight and creating a puzzle without training it, irritating!

Sacrificing up the wazoo! Assuming optimal measures were taken before me playing this chamber, awesome!
wildgoosespeeder 31 Dec, 2014 @ 6:23pm
Slow frankencubes really ruin pacing. To make it worse, they can get stuck! The laser field button is stupid sometimes. What a cheap shot to stop the player from disabling the fizzler! I agree with Piranha.A. Just remove that laser catcher, repurpose the laser, or find a different way to break the monitor.
Kazitor 26 Nov, 2014 @ 1:43am
The frankenturret can't even walk onto the platform button...
Kazitor 26 Nov, 2014 @ 1:37am
This is would be a lot more fun if the frankenturret's button was closer to the laserfield. Maybe there's satisfaction in seeing it once, but not having to wait time and time again.
Kazitor 19 Nov, 2014 @ 1:02am
Not sure what actuarial tables have to do with building a chamber...
The Sojourner  [author] 19 Sep, 2014 @ 8:29pm
I'll edit the map and repost with the intended solution after the competition's over.

Thanks to everyone for playing, and...umm... bug-testing :P
LPChip 19 Sep, 2014 @ 12:05pm
I was unable to complete this, also because I refuse to use the blue frankencube glitch as part of the solution. I am able to go pretty far without it, but not able to finish it. To get the reflector cube, I can use the blue funnel and jump over the fizzler taking the blue funnel with me, but at some point I do seem to require the glitch once. If there's a different way to do it without the glitch, let me know and I'll change the thumbs down to a thumbs up.
Innocentive 9 Sep, 2014 @ 10:05am
Finally managed to solve this chamber (after two fruitless attempts ;) I made a video of how I opened the exit .

If that solution is indeed intended I gotta say that I'm not too happy with the puzzle. First off, the fizzler deactivation is not a mere red hering, that's seriously misguiding the player all for the joke of the puzzle creator. Not a good style in my opinion. And I never enjoyed jumping off blue F'Cubes. If you watch my video you'll see why ;)

And some return nitpicking:
1. The exit door is not properly in the wall.
2. The player model is Bendy, not Chell.
3. In the end, Wheatley's and GladOS' VOs are overlapping.

Architecture is very good looking though.

I did read the description when I subscribed but missed it when writing my comment, sorry.
The Sojourner  [author] 5 Sep, 2014 @ 3:29am
Watching your blindrun, it looks like you're trying too hard with the cube throwing . Anyway, thanks for your blindrun; it proves that this is a semi-broken test, but ultimately, if you had to use everything sans the laser catcher... , you did it right.

I'll update the map after the competition.
The Sojourner  [author] 5 Sep, 2014 @ 2:52am
To answer your question, the soundscapes are custom (didn't you read the description?). Why the fields aren't working for you I don't know :P Seems to be a strange embedding issue (they worked for me)... Also, the upside-down portal is merely to avoid laser burns that would otherwise force you back.
Prototype 3 Sep, 2014 @ 4:58am
My blindrun with some creative solutions you will probably dislike. I had the same frustration as Toothless2603 with the frankencube walking . The visuals are good and I really liked the soundscape and ambience (not sure if it's custom?) plus the wheatley lines that that reflected my actions. I noticed an error in the textures on the second fizzler making them pure white. I'm not quite sure why two fizzlers were necessary, if it could be reduced to one I it would be less confusing, and same for the upside down portal. Other than that the use of the wheatley monitor as a trigger is very creative and overall I enjoyed the puzzle.
Hazellius 30 Aug, 2014 @ 1:17pm
Enjoyable test, for the most part. The frankencube walking became tiring really quickly. It's a nice idea, but in this case it would've been better to use something less time-consuming to advance as the puzzle doesn't focus on frankencube walking . My biggest gripe with the test chamber though has got to be the broken laser receptor. It took me a bit to figure out that it was deliberate, and that it wasn't necessary. It felt like a waste of time. Unnecessary objects / elements in a puzzle that are made to look like you need to use them never work in the test chamber's favour . Other than that, this is a solid puzzle.
The Sojourner  [author] 30 Aug, 2014 @ 12:16pm
Thanks, glad you liked the map :p2aperture:
Nobody No-One 30 Aug, 2014 @ 12:14pm
P.S. I like the broken laser catcher!
Nobody No-One 30 Aug, 2014 @ 12:13pm
portalmaster: my blind play through took about 10-20 mins. about the box, you may only NEED to do it twice, but since I was not sure how to solve the test, I did it a bit more. Usually I no clipped around the death field, pretending I was doing the box thing.
The Sojourner  [author] 30 Aug, 2014 @ 12:00pm
...ok, so I may have underestimated the playtime more than a bit :P 20-30 minutes for a blindrun maybe? When I playtested this myself I could solve it in about 7-8 minutes without any speedrunning. The box also only needs to be walked through twice, but no more than that.
Nobody No-One 30 Aug, 2014 @ 11:58am
Wow. This is a great map with fun mechanics and puzzle.
Dasgovernator 29 Aug, 2014 @ 8:12pm
I liked it. It was a nice and complicated solution, that took a while to figure out. It was annoying to have to let the box "walk" so many times though, since that takes a while and it doesn't feel like a big part of the puzzle.

I also agree with the people below me though, this is a long test to figure out. Even doing it again as a speedrun took me about 10 minutes.
Meta23Gamer 29 Aug, 2014 @ 3:57pm
Finally figured it out, now my roommate hates me because I won't tell him the solution
Meta23Gamer 29 Aug, 2014 @ 2:43pm
yeah, estimated playtime is definitely more than 15-20 minutes. This one is quite the head scratcher
