Everyday I question more and more whenever this shows up on rotation how this even got in (Though considering it's part of the Tropic Crisis "Event" then gee, I think there's a pretty good reason why it got in).

Every gameplay session has gotten gradually worse overtime since it was added to the point where I'm just gonna disable it from the casual queue entirely. :jarate:

The area near the first point with the open windows bothers the heck out of me, there's like stacked crates on there which makes the player think you can access the clearly wide open window area but it's blocked off with an invisible wall.

This is one of the best tf2 maps, but people hate it cuz it doesn't fit tf2 design. wtf, it doesn't have to be, and it's a fresh design from tf2 design. That's why I like it. I hope the creator will continue, but he said he will not

This map is incredible... and look... know that there are people who loved the map, don't look at the dumb haters, but at those who loved the map... I hope you haven't completely given up on making maps...

Easily my favourite modern TF2 map. It has colours and stands out! Plays really nice too especially between the van loading and the casino areas

the arches on 2nd (around where the tank comes in) have z-fighting at the bottom bits, where the red brick meets the white. the 2 types of bricks being used looks kind of weird and the red bricks are rotated on some sides but not all. pls fix

This map is so cool. Fantastic job. Love all the details from the cart being dropped off by a heli, the lil robots carrying health packs, that one little hot tub, being able to walk on the chandelier, etc.

The more I play this map just to see if my negative impressions of the gameplay were too sudden, the more I find things that have me convinced that this map wasn't actually playtested (awful sightlines, a spot above a bush in the casino where Stickies just stick to nothing, a railing next to the second to last point with no collision, the truck that carries the bomb is way too janky). This is dreadful.

please consider reverting the respawn times on red last. I played one game today and everyone in the server was confused why they were getting 35ish second respawn times, I think it's the longest of any map in the game currently. not sure if it was unbalanced before since I only played it once but I hope you give it another look

[1/2] Yes, my point is Valve would be unlikely to hire this person as is and if they did they'd give them pointers or a crash course when they're inducted to the company, which is not impossible as Valve as a company has done that plenty of times, but they still wouldn't let this fly as is themselves. This is the company that's cancelled more games than it's made due to quality concerns we're talking about.

And it doesn't matter if you know once you've played it for the first few times, the point of all of TF2's original design (barring Hydro's confusing nonsense) is that it's EXTREMELY clear the first time you play something. I'm not saying stick to that like it's sacred either because if we did we'd never have had cp_steel or cp_hadal, but this map's much newer than steel on a mode meant to be much "simpler" for newer players than control points.

[2/2] A good example of where Valve would think differently on this themselves or in the past would also be pl_snowplow, which was scrapped for being too confusing when it at least followed nearly all of the "rules" better than this. Regardless of "knowing" these things, the grates, background music, and a misleading diverting path are all at large odds with the games regular gameplay even on some of the more out-there maps/

And I already said I don't care as much about the art style, we already have maps set in Egypt, Japan, and even the Moon that stand out way more than this does, my issues are all gameplay related and if writing this is all it takes to be the "bane of your existence", god knows how you react if someone cuts you off in traffic or something

P.s. there are some interesting concepts and round start/end music + announcers you could split hairs over but I don't really mind, but the execution of the map is just not "Valve"

Yes this has to be two comments in this order

Multiple things that wouldn't meet "Approved for multiplayer game" standards regardless of what the guy says about a hex code somewhere, TF2 included

>Flowing water/lava texture on walls, latter partially blends in with players, both look like CSS custom map "quality"
>Constant background music across nearly the entire map, most games would only have emanating from small objects in specific areas e.g. radio on de_train or cs_office
>Openable "gate" doors that are not transparent like the metal grate doors on dustbowl, goldrush, etc, but rather weird opaque dark textured huge chunks of wall that don't look like door at all
>Street area has diverting path with it being unclear what way the truck will come, meaning someone could build a sentry gun in its path, or at the right fork in the road without realising it will be crushed or useless. Obviously no train tracks like normal payload, but you could have used tyre marks

>Moving, player coloured (Red + Blue object as some carry health kits), voice line playing, humanoidish NPC's that just wander around the map carrying health or saying nonsense in a game that has never ever had any of these, in a genre that pretty much never has these the only exception I know of being titanfall where they intentionally blend in with and fight like players.
>Object that constantly changes type, I've seen multiple "bruh where the objective weren't we just on a truck?" and valves playtesters might be a meme but they stick to that for a reason

There's other nitpicks too like parts of it feeling a bit off art style wise, lacking an art pass once you get about halfway through the streets, and the actual casino area feeling too large in some rooms like the lobby and too cramped in others like those weird side bits. But these 6 are the ones that I feel fundamentally effect gameplay the most and aren't just not liking the hue of a buildings paint

Wow, this map is cool. One of my favourite ones in this update. So big and so many cool details. Some details that I have never seen on any other maps. Botlers with medpacks are cute. I liked it
