I know it is an issue and I wrote about it in one of the previous comments, however I am not sure how to fix that

Is there a reason it doesn't keep track of patrilineal marriage? Just accidentally turned all my grandkids into a different house despite the fact they got it through their mum, who is married patrilineally to their father.

It could be a posibility, perhaps with a game rule, maybe I will add it later, but I am occupied with other stuff at the moment
Damianus 2 Jun @ 8:06am
Please add option to grant cadet branches to vassals of other dynasties
Mightus  [author] 26 May @ 7:36am
Maybe you changed the mod load order
Altoninus 25 May @ 3:25pm
It probably does but It's still odd because they used to work together just fine in the last patch 1.15, and the mod hasn't even been updated since last year.
Mightus  [author] 25 May @ 3:58am
it might be the case if the mod you mentioned overwrites the create cadet effect to set its own coat of arms for cadet branches
Altoninus 23 May @ 7:15pm
I play with the Happy Heraldry mod and, weirdly enough after the 1.16 patch the two mods no longer work together.
牛奶大魔王 6 May @ 7:36pm
:) thx and have good day
Mightus  [author] 6 May @ 7:29pm
Sure, I can put it in the description

it is so that if you grant the cadet house to someone in bizzare position like a "sister-wife", your children don't end up being of her dynasty instead of yours.
macintosh1257 6 May @ 6:30pm
So whats the point of this?
Mightus  [author] 6 May @ 5:14pm
Hmm, you might be right, I am having a bit of a hard time wraping my head around those family trees, lol.
So, I will scale down changes to dynasty head for now.
Texas Redhawk 6 May @ 5:01pm
Do the recent changes mean I can no longer grant cadet branches to my sons who are, in proper Valyrian fashion, married to their sisters and have their new dynasty pass down to their children?
Mightus  [author] 6 May @ 4:31pm
Thanks to the countless Targaryen lives, scrificed in testing of this update, I was able to make further improvments!
Mightus  [author] 6 May @ 3:43pm
Ok, I think I was able to alleviate the issue.
But let me know if you find something weird!
Mightus  [author] 2 May @ 2:13am
Guys I noticed that in some instances when your family tree becomes a "circle" (classic Crusader Kings, lol), that is when you grant cadet branch to a house member with whose daughter you are married to, your kids change to their dynasty as well.
idk what might be the issue, so if anyone have any suggestion how to fix that, I would greatly appreciate it.
Mightus  [author] 30 Apr @ 10:23am
I think automaticaly changing CoA is possible though; not sure about the names
Mightus  [author] 30 Apr @ 10:22am
Yeah, the dynastic cosmetics would be cool, but I am not sure how to code that... the best bet would be editing the gui, so that you get a button to edit cosmetic stuff for houses not of your dynasty; but I am terrible at moding gui, so idk how to do that...
kudashkins 30 Apr @ 5:56am
Dude. That'g great. But can you make mod for renameing and changing AI's cadet branches? Sometimes they got so stupid names for their new houses and their coat of arms. Also we need mod for banning Cadet Branches for muslims rulers, it is not historical for them, except special houses like Abbasid

anyway thanks. love ya
Mightus  [author] 15 Apr @ 5:02pm
Haha, thanks!
Décimo 15 Apr @ 4:27pm
Okay thanks. Btw, love the capybara photo as in Lego games
Mightus  [author] 15 Apr @ 2:51pm
You can grant it to dead characters through interaction by rightclicking on their (living) children (not working for grandparents though); and currently it isn't possible to grant the cadet branch to yourself, but when I have some time maybe I could take a look and make it possible
Décimo 15 Apr @ 2:40pm
How can I grant a cadet branch to someone dead? I rightclick but doesn't do nothing. Also, isn't possible to grant a cadet branch to myself? Even if I am house head.
Altoninus 5 Mar @ 9:26pm
@Mightus, Nice.
Mightus  [author] 5 Mar @ 4:45pm
Yes, it should be
Altoninus 5 Mar @ 3:52pm
Is this save game compatible?
Mightus  [author] 14 Feb @ 5:38am
Ok, I think it works and I've updated the mod, but let me know if you run into some issues
Mightus  [author] 14 Feb @ 5:29am
I'm not sure if the game won't bug out when granting cadet branch to unlanded someone, but I can check it and if it works I will update the mod.
Pyro_Teknik 13 Feb @ 6:03pm
Question, I know the description mentions that characters have to be a duke or above, but I wanted to grant a cadet branch to someone before they gained a title during a crusade (they don't currently hold any titles) so I won't have some ugly looking CoA in my dynasty view once they take that throne and create a branch. Is there a way to do this?
Mightus  [author] 20 Jan @ 5:55am
Bastards are excluded, I didn't want to mess with bastard mechanics too much
Can'tTouchThis 19 Jan @ 4:13pm
Does this work on bastards? Say i wanted to create a cadet branch of my dynasty by having bastards would they form their own house and therefore remain part of my dynasty even after having kids?
BeatTh9Meat 28 Dec, 2024 @ 11:48am
you are amazing and I love you for this :steamthis:
Mightus  [author] 28 Nov, 2024 @ 3:37am
Thanks!
If you are asking about my custom mod playset, I think it should be mostly compatible with the mods you mentioned, not sure about the "Dark Ages" mod though, so you might have to ask it's creator to be sure. However, you can also disable the "Dark Ages" mod, I do it for more casual, relaxed playthroughs, and enable it if I want some challenge.
Hardened_Mass 27 Nov, 2024 @ 10:49pm
Have a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates the day and to those who don't, be well, be safe and produce an heir. :steammocking: Thank you for your mods. Are they compatible with Be Anyone's Relative, Be Someone's Child, Rename Anyone? It might be cool to play as the nephew of a powerful Duke in a Player designed custom House.
Mightus  [author] 25 Nov, 2024 @ 8:17am
Hey, thanks! I think it is good suggestion, but I think tweaking the cadet house decision would be better than character interaction in this case; unfortunately I am quite busy recently, and I have some other mods I want to maintain with my limited time, so I can't look into it right now.
Killstreak 24 Nov, 2024 @ 11:58am
I really love this mod, great work! I was wondering if it's possible for you to add an option to grant a cadet branch to myself (despite being a direct descendant of the house founder).

I think this could be a great addition to the game to make it possible for the player to roleplay cultural changes (like a dynasty member finding a new house, robertine to capet — or a distant relative of a deposed Muslim Emir converting to Christainity and therefore finding a distinct house)

Your work is irreplacable for my campaigns, godspeed!!! :broflex:
fihs 11 Nov, 2024 @ 2:17pm
Thanks for making this
Mightus  [author] 7 Nov, 2024 @ 8:08am
Yeah I made a check so that admin rulers may only grant cadet branches to other admin rulers, however it might not be necessary for the mod to work properly (I will have to investigate some more), and I'm considering removing this condition in later update
blazeknave 7 Nov, 2024 @ 8:00am
@Mightus - okay, we were not. However, once I moved House Head (cheat) to Feudal, they were able to grant to the Administrative leaders.
Mightus  [author] 7 Nov, 2024 @ 2:23am
I'm not sure what might be wrong, but both you and interaction target has to be administrative, so maybe that is the issue.
blazeknave 6 Nov, 2024 @ 8:02pm
@Mightus - I am dynasty/house head as governor in Byzantine. When I try to Grand Cadet Branch: I see "__target name__'s Government does not allow: Administrative government" blocking me
and Posthumously, with my sibling (only available targets) the above and additionally: the above AND "__target's father's name__ is your father" (the latter of which I presume is valid)
Mightus  [author] 24 Oct, 2024 @ 2:53pm
Ok, the mod should now be compatible with Game of Thrones mod, let me know if something is wrong though.
Mightus  [author] 24 Oct, 2024 @ 7:45am
Cool! It nice for the player to sometimes have more agency.
Canon 22 Oct, 2024 @ 12:06pm
I made a mod that lets me disable the creation of cadet branches for my dynasty, just so I can combine it with this to manage it all myself, so this is essential to me now, thanks!
Mightus  [author] 22 Oct, 2024 @ 9:15am
I wanted to make AGOT version, and the code gave me headache, lol; but I will probably look into it again eventually.
horatio 17 Oct, 2024 @ 8:35am
any word on that AGOT compatch?
Mightus  [author] 17 Oct, 2024 @ 1:15am
I may add a game rule like that later, but unfortunately I don't have time right now.
LMFAO 16 Oct, 2024 @ 10:45pm
I agree with @cat_soup as well on that matter of cost with prestige, perhaps a game rule could be added for this?
