Great design. Great puzzles. Great sense of satisfaction when reaching the exit.

tricky but fun map!

Thanks

func_door_rotating, simply make the gate models prop_dynamic and parent them to the func_door_rotating.
Blondie 15 Feb, 2018 @ 6:11pm
I know this is old but could you please tell me how you implimented those walkway gates at the end? I can't use prop_door_rotating or func_door_rotating, what did you use and how?

I think chambers like this misinterpret the point of the game, of Aperture, it is to mke science, not make people crazy! Should be a puzzle not a "what if i do this" map.
ChrisLP 25 Dec, 2015 @ 9:59pm
Now i watched the video which HAS NO PORTAL MAGNET on the cylinder and if you added one after the video, YOU SHOULD REMOVE THE PORTAL MAGNET, let players control their portals, that's almost cheating, i hate magnets!!!
ChrisLP 25 Dec, 2015 @ 9:54pm
IMPOSSIBLE MAP!!! Haven't watched solution yet but i'm tired, too boring...
nintendo.erk  [author] 27 Nov, 2015 @ 9:33am
hehe ;)
Thanks a lot.

I can't believe I never played this map before. Excellent!
nintendo.erk  [author] 11 Jan, 2015 @ 3:35am
I've placed antlines and signs to help guide the player a bit and as ɹəʇsɐɯlɐʇɹ0d suggested I changed the soundscapes, hope you'll all enjoy :)
nintendo.erk  [author] 24 Dec, 2014 @ 11:03pm
Thank you both :)
I'll see what I can do about guidance, maybe some fling signs near the first circular cubicle would clear things up a bit...
Sejievan 24 Dec, 2014 @ 1:14pm
Very good map dude, i really like the way that you used the old aperture theme, well done!, but i have to agree with @quatrus i also had to watch the walktrought to figure out the solution XD, this map really would benefit from a little more visual indications.
Stagger Lee 22 Dec, 2014 @ 8:44pm
Well done
nintendo.erk  [author] 22 Dec, 2014 @ 1:18pm
Thank you for playing, sorry for the lack of guidance but this map is meant that way. It doesn't even have antlines.
Anyway, I'm glad the walkthrough helped :)
quatrus 22 Dec, 2014 @ 1:13pm
Kind of hard to figure out the solution - portal from top of cube, picking up the cube, sliver of a portal shot to the exit area - probably wouldn't have solved before getting frustrated without your walkthrough - maybe some guidance - lighting, arrows, etc could have helped. thanks for another map - learned something....

Indeed you did well with the style. Only thing I would change is the soundscapes: I used ug_sphere_water_01 (or any similar soundscape) for the outside areas and ug_sphere_int_01 (or any similar soundscape) for the indoor areas.
nintendo.erk  [author] 19 Dec, 2014 @ 9:13am
Thank you for playing and the feedback.
I agree it is not the most clean solution to crouch and grab the cube from the corner of the button
Anyway, I made this map because I wanted to try out the underground style for the first time :)
The Sojourner 19 Dec, 2014 @ 12:29am
Not exactly fond of the cube grabbing trick, but everything else was fine. This test looks solid to me.
nintendo.erk  [author] 18 Dec, 2014 @ 9:43pm
Really sorry to hear that, the video shows the easiest way :)
CoolDudeClem 18 Dec, 2014 @ 6:44pm
Nice visuals but I can't solve it as I'm useless at aiming well while doing a verical fling.
nintendo.erk  [author] 16 Dec, 2014 @ 7:50am
Haha, I have that all the time. Thanks :)
Linking-Yellow 16 Dec, 2014 @ 7:36am
Of coures it looks like my solutions were a bit more complicated after looking at your solve video, lol.
Linking-Yellow 16 Dec, 2014 @ 7:31am
It's been a while since I played a puzzle that challenging, thanks.
TS_Mind_Swept 15 Dec, 2014 @ 2:21pm
8/10
nintendo.erk  [author] 15 Dec, 2014 @ 12:51pm
Thanks, I did make some minor changes to the puzzle. GLaD you liked it :)
DeathWish808 15 Dec, 2014 @ 12:47pm
Great looking map and it felt like a whole new puzzle just from the redesign. Funny how atmosphere can make a good puzzle so much better. Great work!
nintendo.erk  [author] 15 Dec, 2014 @ 11:31am
@ TeamSpen210 : I fixed the info panel, have got no idea where it came from. It wasn't there when I previewed as far as I can remember. I also placed placement helpers like you suggested but the fizzlers are still a mess, I did exactly what that tutorial said but I still can see a line in it... screenshot
nintendo.erk  [author] 15 Dec, 2014 @ 12:36am
@ Jade : thanks again :)
@ Teamspen : thanks a lot for your feedback, I'll look in to it when I'm home from work.
TeamSpen210 14 Dec, 2014 @ 6:18pm
A couple minor suggestions:
- If you look back at the entrance from the main chamber an extra indicator sign is visible. The back of the real one is also nodraw-ed wrongly.
- For fizzlers larger than 128x128, do something like this VDC page with the brushes so the emitter effects appear non-distorted.
- Some info_placement_helpers in the circular cubicles might help to hint how they are meant to be used, and make it easier to perform the sideways portal swap in the first one .

Really good map. Looked beautiful. Nice thinking outside the test chamber. Thanks for your fine work!
nintendo.erk  [author] 14 Dec, 2014 @ 2:37pm
Thanks a lot, i had quite a lot of fun creating this map.
The first time in this style but it turned out quite well IMO :D
jgaultney 14 Dec, 2014 @ 2:22pm
This took a bit longer to solve that I thought it would. Partly because I kept getting
side-tracked with sightseeing and exploring and because you added a couple of new
moves to the solution. A win/win addition for me xD. Thumbs up!!
