Good grief! This map took me a looooong time to finish. I hope I learned to pay closer attention to design elements.

Pretty cool overall. Some little gripes here and there, but mostly I have an issue with your buttons. In this map whether the red button is lit up or not is inconsistent and not very helpful - a dark button means both that you cannot press the button and you can press the button; a lit up button means that you can press the button and you already pressed the button, - so you just have to spam every button and see which is it.
If a dark button means you cannot press or it's already pressed, and a lit up button says "press me", it'd be much more coherent imo.

One of the computers activates the elevator, look on the screens. Then behind the door with one dot sign you'll find a puzzle with laser cubes, one of the cubes needs to be used for the laser down in that lobby area as the sign next to the button for it suggests. this gives the gun and chamber 2 and 3 are accesable both giving a cube to open the exit eventually.

Yeah I figured the ladder eventually, its just that as HL player I didnt think of looking up for a while.

And yes I didnt get passed getting the gun, simply because there wasnt anything that would indicate what to do, or what the objective is.

The first "chamber" you have been in probably is just the central hub, lobby kind of. There are 3 actual test chambers in this map, the elevator once activated takes you to the upper area with acces to them. BTW the ladder at the start is actually very simple, just stand against it and look up :D

in my opinion, with good puzzle you should understand the tools straight away and the puzzle should be about how to use the tools to achieve the desired outcome. With this map the tools arent clear at all. Climbing up the ladder is not easy and took about a minute. The first chamber has buttons that are out of service and buttons you literally cant click at all (the one near laser). I like difficult maps and can spend hours thinking about stuff, but this one is just frustrating and makes the player feel like something is just broken, because it is not clear about what you are supposed to do.

Im'm glad you appreciated my feedback. :-) And also, while I wrote that comment, I totaly forgot about Destroyed Aperture. I'm also really looking forward to that mod and if it gets as good as those teaser maps you made for it, you can take as much time as you need to complete it.

In part #3 the very beginning was a bit fiddly as well in my opinion. Having to fling yourself from an infinite loop which tends to move you over every loop by a bit (if you don't look straight down) thus making you stuck on the edge of a portal eventually combined with the floor you had to shoot the exit portal on being covered by rubble (precise shot required) made it unnecessarily hard.
And then it took me long to realize I had to fix the antlines/cable to get the first cube. I was first searching for ways to fling myself at the cube dropper to maybe break it and get the cube (always thinking outside the box), because after all the button was unusable...
Other than that finding the solution to this felt very rewarding :-)

Overall despite my many criticisms this is a great map. Very well done!

Kinda cool mixture of styles. The puzzles are of increasing difficulty, which I like.
In part #2 it was a bit too fiddly to get to the second cube. Even though I did have nearly the whole "runway" geled up, it still took me multiple attempts to get the right speed. Having the right idea but not managing it even though you should be doing everything correctly is a bit frustrating.

Thank you for the kind words, I am very glad you liked it. You didn't have to restart, a new cube should spawn in the exit tubes when they fizzle ;)
A part two might be nice, though that would take a lot of time since I am working on the Destroyed Aperture mod and I really want to see that finished first (it's been in development for over 3 years already)

This definately goes into my list of perfect maps that I would give to every person I know to play.
I enjoyed it really much, and the puzzles weren`t too easy or too hard to solve. The Portal-1-style map took me about 5 minutes, the Old-Aperture one a little more (not more then half-an-hour) and the overgrown-style map about twenty minutes ( in old aperture it took me way too much time to see, that the button for the speed gel also angles the panel, but that was purely my fault) and I really liked the little BTS-tour right before the overgrown map. I made some little ninja-skill-moves at the entrance of the overgrown area and because of that, I somehow managed to bring the old-aperture-cube to the second test chamber door while doing the flinging. It fizzled and I couldn`t get a new one so I needed to restart. Other than that, I didn`t find any problems. I wish you do a part two. Thank you soooo much for your time and effort you put into it!

Ik klop op de kaart weer, deze keer in de 2e kamer zonder te schuiven uit de smurrie van het paneel, en dus zonder knop, en deze te verhogen, en in de 3e, nog steeds de oplossing gevonden om de kubus boven de deur) het Enige dat niet zoals in het begin van de trap de eerste keer dat het moeilijk is om te klimmen om wat voor reden, maar het zijn de kleine dingen ;). Prachtige kaart, dank u! Ik hoop dat de vertaling juist is, en dat er geen spoilers... Als er iets, laat het me weten.

1 DOT signage is red because i never used the reflection cube in the "trophies room", and so i killed it in goo, the first puzzle was incomplete at the end, but i got the portal gun so it made no difference.

and this is not supposed to happen right? I got trapped because i forgot entrance door closes and recquires one button to get out, i also did some cool jumps and stood where i shouldn't be. :)

No matter how much i love the overgrown part, this chamber is completely broken and it's MANDATORY to correct the wrongs here!!! I can't explain in words coz i was pretty ninja and don't blame, i didn't see the right solution at first, lack of signals of where to go and because it's a total new gameplay style, new things to do so i miss focus. I can only say, and i hope you understand this, i did the first (1 dot test) of the reflection cubes, i've taken one of then to the center room and used it to take the Portal Gun!!!! so it fell on the goo and the first door doesn't open anymore. So i went to (3 dots test), the overgrown, took me one hour to solve, i loved it but when i took the cube back, i figured it out, i need a reflection cube in the "trophies room", so i thought i was trapped but I'm now in the old aperture and there's the other cube i need, i guess i just bugged your whole chamber, i'll confirm this on the second run.

Very nice hammer design, especially I like the big elevator :D
Was not very difficult, not extremly easy. In the dome first I had problems to get speed enough,
later I could make red color closer to the wall.:steamhappy:

I see what you mean, I have been fixing other shortcuts which also involved lowering that orange gel floor. I overlooked that squarebeam frame, thanks a lot for telling me. A fix will follow next weekend :D

Did not read through all of the comments. But, it is possible to not use the blue gel in the second chamber. I did that and so the blue gel confused me. You can squat and shoot a portal to the orange gel area. Squat at an open square in the blue gel area and you can shoot a portal to the floor of the orange gel area.

Hardest part for me was in old aperture noticing which button adjusted the angled panel for the fling to the second cube In retrospect there was signage, but it wasn't apparent what the signs meant until I saw the effect. Maybe some kind of loud, creaky mechanical noise would help?

Good job with the chamber! Everything was easy to find! Some of the chambers were confusing but once you got the solution it wasn't that bad. In the chamber with the laser cube it was hard to figure out that you had to get the new cube on the other side but other than that it was a good map!

Takes a lot of effort to do but nonetheless needed fixing.
I made a ceiling making your move a lot harder to do, you might still be able to pull it of using the portalable floor under the gel dropper though.
Not 100% fixed but close enough I think, I will leave it like this so ninja's get bonus points ;)

That jump in the underground area needs a complete orange floor or you won't make it.
The overgrown area is set up in a way that the dropping cube is cought by the bridge and at the right spot automatically, destroying it in the fizzler is part of the intended solution.

nice work. Its possible that its just me but i couldnt figure out both of the puzzles at all. at old apature i couldnt make the first jump on the speed gel room no matter how much i tried, at the abondoned puzzles getting the cube infront of the lazer at the right place was so annoying i just ended up cheating, and then i aceidently destroyed the cube by placing the funnel in wrong place causing it to catch the cube and drive it into the barrier

Btw did you try a touching the elevator door with a cube? I fixed that in a way the cube still fizzles when it gets stuck :)

You mean the old style elevator? Strange, I tried jumping there multiple times but didn't get stuck in any way. I don't think I can fix it though as it is done with a trigger_teleport. Use noclip (and I advise god mode) to see the actual layout of the map, there are actually 3 sections for the player and a "studio" for the computer monitor.
I intend on an update next weekend with some other issues fixed but this one would be very challenging...
