Just like some others I somehow thought of a stacked sacrifice . Since this couldn't be done, I thought about flinging towards the laser to rearrange the cube ^^' which was also impossible, so I eventually found the "easier" sacrifice solution :D
Thumbs up

Nice easy-advanced to ease back to the game, though I would think that turret is somewhat less than good-taste.

Another challenging level. Thanks for creating!

Really really clever, I was absolutely over-complicating the method for getting the laser cubes where I wanted them. I enjoyed the use of distance thinking for a bit there. Well done.

Thanks for the lovely comment, Bullfrog! :) Really glad you enjoyed revisiting this map, it's a personal favourite of mine too. Looking forward to hearing more from you as you progress through your favourites!
bullfrog 27 Mar, 2020 @ 10:23am
I played this Dec 16 when I was new at this and didn’t add it to favourites until Mar 17, probably because I’d forgot to press it! I’m playing through my favourite puzzles, in time order, from first to latest. This is still a most excellent puzzle and has been so ingrained on to my brain that I remembered the solution quickly. You’re one of the more prominent authors in my favourites, so I’m afraid I’ll be popping up now and then over the next, however how long, but I promise to be less verbose next time.

Me too! I was sooooo close! Thanks for the walkthrough! Great work!
Demon Arisen  [author] 2 Dec, 2019 @ 7:01am
Well done for getting close, canticle! Takes a brave man to admit he's been bested ;)
canticle 1 Dec, 2019 @ 3:53pm
I feel like such a rube...I had it all figured out, except for the one move--the one that everyone that has commented mentions. I unfortunately did not persevere and came to the comments to look for a nudge-oldest first. Fourth one in was Rector's. I did not even finish reading, because half way through I got how close I had been, but just not seen. I had also thought of stacking the cubes (vertical) with a cube sacrifice, but that is, of course, not feasible given the design. What i do not understand is why having come to that point, lateral stacking did not even come to mind :steamfacepalm: Well, despite being so close, I guess I have to admit defeat on this one---should have gotten it,...but didn't.:steamsad:

I'm using up all my Excedrin tryin' to solve these puzzles. I agree with Teo. Another great challenge.

Great level! Your maps always make the realization of the solution feel so good, like when I figured out what the room with the white ceiling and floor was for it felt so good

@Demon Arisen No problem.

Meant to upload the playthrough for this one last night. Soory!
I complicated it a bit, but excellent work. Even the turret was used well!
Mikeastro 17 Sep, 2017 @ 8:11am
Another good one
Warmonger 16 May, 2017 @ 8:43am
Good one. I wasted quite some time trying to stack cubes on top of each other . Suprisingly it worked for a moment on first try :P
metadavid 11 May, 2017 @ 11:06pm
I did solve it, but I can't quite grasp how I did that. It's the learning edge!
Demon Arisen  [author] 10 May, 2017 @ 3:36am
@metadavid The walkthrough is still available if you get stuck :)
metadavid 10 May, 2017 @ 3:33am
This puzzle is still just marginally cleverer than my brain, despite having seen the solution before...

Great puzzle. Realy had me for awhile

@Aur3Dash Thanks very much! :p2cube: I'm really proud of this one.

Amazing puzzle! It took me a while to realise that i had to bring both cubes to the laser room and then recall a cube , but that was really satisfying to solve! Favorite!

@Miami Mike That would be a good title! I'm a sucker for one word titles though.
Miami Mike 19 Mar, 2017 @ 1:50am
Awesome! Maybe you should have named it "Jump the Fence"

@Demon Arisen when you finish the map please tell me.
Demon Arisen  [author] 12 Mar, 2017 @ 1:42am
@bullfrog :) Thank you! I'm going to try making another laser puzzle soon since I haven't made one in a while.
bullfrog 12 Mar, 2017 @ 1:40am
I played this 8 Dec 2016 and it’s still brilliant. I've got no idea why I didn't ‘Favourite’ back then, but have rectified that now :)

@xx_Gavilanche123_xx Thank you! :D Comments like that make my day! As far as I know I have all the Portal emojis and I don't think there's a portal gun one...

Porree 23 Jan, 2017 @ 5:26pm
I liked your recommendation. It often seems like a good idea to have portal near a cube dropper in your maps :D
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 Jan, 2017 @ 4:24am
@Mr Vapour Waterhandle Thanks very much, really glad you enjoyed it! Well, I suppose cube stacking isn't too different from the actual solution, which in a way is horizontal cube stacking :P I'm pleased you liked the turret, just goes to show that you don't need 6 turrets to pose a threat!
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 14 Jan, 2017 @ 3:53am
Also, I too am stupid and tried to stack the cubes for a long while, also because it almost works due to lazer receivers being very generous in this game, until I came to my senses
Mr Vapour Waterhandle 14 Jan, 2017 @ 3:51am
This was more the kind of thing I expected when I read of your maps being used as an example of turrets done well in a logic puzzle, and holy shit was it done well! You made some excellent use of this guy. I love how he feels like a threat from many angles, but unless you loiter there's really no reason you should ever die from him. He added such a great element of tension without ever being frustrating. It's incredible, really. One thing with this puzzle is that manually killing the turret is easier and sets you way further back from solving the rest, though this isn't a flaw.
bullfrog 8 Dec, 2016 @ 2:19am
That was brilliant and, IMHO, the best one I’ve played of yours so far. I worked out how to kill the turret pretty quickly. It then took me ages and ages to work out how to get the laser into the open-the-door laser catcher (that part was inspired and was worth a thumbs-up all by itself) and the final part took me much longer than it should have done, but in my defence, by that time my brain was frazzled! I’m gonna lie down in a dark room now for a while, but all the same, thank you, it was worth it.
zigzagtenniscoe 27 Aug, 2016 @ 5:15pm
Divided to me is easy but very clever. Well, not quite "easy", it's easy ish... you can still get stuck for a minute wondering what to do next. But your right, this is only my experience. Difficulty is subjective for the most part (of course anyone will agree that Test chamber 00 from Portal 1 is easier then Test chamber 19 lol) but with puzzles like Divided you can either find it rather easy or quite challenging. Depends if you're generally newer to the game or experienced, even though experienced players do have their times where they for some reason can't figure out a certain puzzle ever for whatever reason :P
Demon Arisen  [author] 27 Aug, 2016 @ 4:14pm
Aw thank you! <3 I suppose difficulty is subjective, I thought divided was easy but a lot of people told me they found it really difficult!
zigzagtenniscoe 27 Aug, 2016 @ 11:18am
Your welcome of course, but thank you for making such awesome puzzles, whether easier (Divided) or more difficult (this and Perplexed) I can tell they al have effort put into them and they're all very clever. Keep it up! :)
Demon Arisen  [author] 27 Aug, 2016 @ 9:56am
@zigzagtenniscoe Thanks so much, your comments always make my day! :D You're right this one is a lot harder than some of my others, which is why I thought it needed a walkthrough. Well done for persevering until the very end though! And don't worry, I have periods of not playing Portal at all as well :)
zigzagtenniscoe 26 Aug, 2016 @ 6:40pm
Smashed the like button, very satisfying and one of my faves of yours. I tried this map a while ago and gave up on it. Came back to it today, had to put it aside once, this is the second attempt and I finally got it! Definetely have to be more experienced to solve this one. Tell ya this I got 1900 hours on Portal and it still took me an hour to solve! If that should tell you anything, it should tell ya you should have played a bit of Portal first before solving this puzzle. Lol it sounds so simple though when you look back on it... solution was hidden in plain sight. Love it.

BTW sorry again for not being around all this time. I tend to have periods where I like something intensely for a period of time then move on to something else for along while.
zigzagtenniscoe 26 Aug, 2016 @ 6:37pm
Continued: I still didn't get it. I was confused, for one what is even stacking cubes on top of each other and also, what was ut supposed to do for me? I fooled around some more till I was once again at the laser area with the two cubes, then it hit me like a brick. I knew what they meant only then, putting them in front of each other. One was pointing towards the wall but in front of it had to be a cube redirecting it to the laser catcher that activated flip panel. Once you did that you had to press the button to sacrifice the cube in front of it so you could have a portal in the top room and have the laser pointing at portalable surface, which is what I wanted all along. I knew what to do right away and solved the rest.
zigzagtenniscoe 26 Aug, 2016 @ 6:33pm
Now that is what I call a puzzle! Most of your other puzzles of course are very good. But this one along with Perplexed is just on another level. And maybe a few other puzzles. This one was very challenging, on this attempt it took me 50 minutes to solve (10 minutes to get to the point where I got stuck, which is where I wanted one portal in the upper room while having the laser point straight towards a portalable surface, which seemed impossible at that time. So for 40 minutes I messed around and I tried to even look at the comments (and spoilers!) for hints and saw something said I had to stack them in front of each other, not on top of each other. Im paraphrasing of course but that's what I interpreted it as.
