Great work! Howerver, the mod is not working...I checked the units at the recruitment tab, and it shows only that they have 45 men..

Honestly I can't remember...I assume you're talking about the samuria hero horse archers? I'm leaning towards no off the top of my head. Been playing too much Total War Warhammer to remmeber htough haha

I concur. Can there be another mod that make them as large as a regular unit with an associated cost increase.
I would do it myself but when I mod the game the .pack file appears in mod manager but doesn't actually affect the related in-game statistics. So Ihaven't figured out how to mod properly :(

any chance of making a version that makes hero units half the size of a regular infantry unit for an associated cost raise? i find that i rarely use hero units because there small numbers make them less useful that lets say a blacksmith'd samurai unit. in my eyes, heroes SHOULD be a devestatingly powerful unit, at the cost of being much, MUCH more expensive. there like the spec ops of the ancient world. i want my dreamteam endgame army!

If it worked then the gunpowder sounds for archers shouldn't be happening. I've used it myself (as well as many others) and the fix worked great. Not sure why it's not working on your end...

Read the mod description, the fix is in there. It's a common error for any unit modifying mods.

ITs very good mod, but it causes sound error. its critical error. lots of archers firing sound like cannon

So what's happening is that you have your unit size set to large instead of ultra in your game settings. If your CPU/GPU can handle it, you can bump that up to ultra and the unit size will be 60 instead of 45. Glad you're liking the mods!

Really feel stupid :steamfacepalm: , it works and I'm just confused with all the settings and stuff....I guess I'm just really bad at computers. Anyway just subscribed to all your mods since they are nice tweaks to make the game interesting but not deadly hard.... I just want some fun, not to torture myself against super ai opponents. Thanks for your mods, hope you'll make some nice stuff and updates in the future...again, sorry for all the confusion -_-

Thanks for the quick reply. I see the hero unit is at 60 but my unit number setting is at ultra, previously when using large unit number setting, it is set at 45. Is that correctly working? Sorry for asking simple things, but this is the first time I tried to add mod to this game.

Hey i have an idea for new mod for you.U could create the mod that increases the speed of all ships for faster battles.I hate ship battles and i have to do them when realy needed,so i just speed up the time,but they are still so sloooooow.So think about it.:steamhappy:

Lol 300-500 in auto resolve geez. They'd stack that veterance insanely fast! Thanks for testing that out. That's what I was thinking would happen if you made the numbers that high, but I'm glad you verified it. So I'll leave things how they are then.

So. 120 for the infantry and 80 for the cavalry. Insanely overpowered lol. I can handle them when the AI uses them, but the AI can't handle them when I use them. Especially when you start stacking multiple hero units. They become very broken very fast. Bow hero alone was killing 300-500 units in every auto-resolve. Your values are probably actually pretty balanced.

That's a fair point. I expect I'll truly appreciate whether or not I have made a mistake the first time the AI fields hero units against me.

In terms of numbers I've decided to use 120 for everything except cavalry which I put at 80. Since I play on large those are downgraded to 90 and 60 respectively. I look forward to seeing how the units perform with these numbers.

Of course! It's easy to adjust the files to fit your exact tastes! Personally I'm finding the 50% more quite strong for myself. It takes quite awhile for even 3+ groups of spear men to poke down the hero Katana cavalry. Had to do it against the ai multiple times! If I went against a katana cav hero with 120 people I think I'd poop my pants! :D

Read the discussion below. Decided to follow suit, copy your .pack and edit the values myself for personal use. Wouldn't have known where to start myself, so very glad I had your mod as a base and all I had to do was edit the numbers. Thanks for making this possible for me.

Definitely an interesting idea, but I disagree with the numbers. Given that you are restricted to one, and that they are so late game I'd just triple all the hero units numbers and keep the upkeep cost at either vanilla values or close to.

Okay I won't worry about that then! As far as the ronin go, it should be a unit database edit again I'd think. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, ronin are ikko ikki base units (although I think there might also be a rare event that also lets you hire them). I'd check the units_to_groupings_military_permissions table in the database. I'd have to poke around as I've never messed with assigning build permissions to different factions but play around with that and see where you get. Let mek now if that isn't working for you.

Thanks. I went ahead and brought all my hero units up to a 100 men for personal use. And in regards to a previous post of mine in case somebody was interested this mod [www.twcenter.net] did the trick for katana & bow wako units. Still looking for ronin though.

Sure I can get about to doing that in the next few days. And I personally use the TWeak software released by CA themselves, but if you want to edit pack files diretly use the MMS (multi mod support) tool. I believe you can find that on TWcenter.net

How are you making your edits btw? I downloaded an older version of pack manager just to mess around with custom unit cards. It was pretty bugged though.

I agree, cav should stay where they are. Infantry, I wouldn't mind seeing an even 100. Maybe you could make tiered versions of the mod for those who'd prefer different sizes? 60, 80, 100, to full size perhaps.

Yeah I'm toying with bumping it up a bit more. The thing is at full unit size, I think they'd be a bit TOO good. But I could probably get away with 80 for the infantry heroes. Cavalry might have to stay at 60 though as I believe 80 is full size for normal cav =O. Thoughts?

Exactly. I wouldn't mind them having a full size or close to full size unit tbh considering they cost so much and are restricted to one unit per clan. Plus they're pretty late game. Thats just me though. By the way you wouldn't happen to know of a mod that adds in the locked units like yari ronin, katana wako etc. to the campaign would you? I've tried radious and all those kisho ninja and crap unit cards bugged me too much to keep it.

Thanks!! So glad you like it. I've always loved playing with hero units but am always disappointed by the amount they contribute in actual battles. Plus it's so hard for them to keep experience because losing 4 guys was 10% of the unit so adding new recruits dilutes the veteran substantially.
