TLDR: Overthought it immensely, took over an hour including a half-hour break to think about the puzzle in my mind, thought about it wrong for most of the solution (details in link). Not a perfect map since the visibility of the ceiling from the piston is low and the player doesn't have much time to shoot up there , along with all the grates just looking ugly anyhow.
Difficulty: 8/10
Enjoyed: 7.5/10

The grate thickness + limited time on the piston platform = a sollution, even harder to execute.
I'm glad that is the solution that Gig had in mind ( reactionary puzzles aren't my thing mixed in with jumping through a portal redirecting a laser ). For my end, the grating is really thick and that made it literally hard to see the solution, not figuratively. Only if the grating wasn't so thick as it is in the PeTI editor.
Nice map.
