easy but fun

You could reuse one of the cubes at the end, across the fizzler, to make the chamber more complex.

Nice puzzle, thanks!

To be honest, I did have to think twice in both chambers. Well Done...

Yours is much better for simlpicity while having to scratch your head over a few things. Here is my first chamber, would like to know what you think, I'ts possibly over complicated

Simple intro area and then a decent fizzler puzzle. Kind of wish you had at least one more area with a little more difficulty, but I still liked it. :-)

Hi, I did a blind play through with commentary of this chamber on YouTube!
Please check it out, check the description to jump to your map immediately :steamhappy:
Thanks for this chamber, liked it!

@Apple5eed No problem, it's fun trying to find exploits with this kind of stuff. Plus it's rare to get front-page tests that actually make you have to think a bit. :P

If you want you can checkout my new map "Double Take", it also uses fizzlers and redirection cubes. You can subscribe to it here: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=654575834

Wow, it's really great to get all these comments. And some of you even played it twice to see the improved version... Thanks!

@Lepo: Nice. I will definitely play that one :)

@(Edgy) Asriel Dreemurr: Special thanks to you for all the comments and playing it again!

@Majacura: Thanks as well for playing it twice.

Hi, i have done a small map inspired on this, you can download it here: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=654753832
MmmmmmhHHHhhhhhhmmmm 27 Mar, 2016 @ 5:23pm
Fitting name for sure. Pretty straightforward at the same time. I enjoyed it. It's refreshing to play a chamber that's not completely cluttered.

@dven1 We've all been there lol.
Normie 26 Mar, 2016 @ 6:44pm
nice~
(Edgy) Asriel Dreemurr 26 Mar, 2016 @ 4:47pm
From what I could tell, the test is only solvable by the intended solution. :P You can still portal bump the second fizzler, but doing so doesn't help solve the test. So good job on that!

Also I found an interesting glitch with the lightbridge and cube in the first room. You can see it in my screenshots. Basically the cube was floating (acting as if the bridge was still under it) xD
gamecreator 26 Mar, 2016 @ 2:55pm
At first I thought it was going to be easy. Then I thought it was going to be hard. But it ended up somewhere in the middle. Good map.
unstalch 26 Mar, 2016 @ 11:50am
wow! best map ever i have seen. you should know that "everything can be used" in puzzle to solve it. 10/10

i literally had to think twice, nice job.. easy map but i commend you for making me think twice
dven1 25 Mar, 2016 @ 4:52pm
Nice map, well made and lit. Other than trying to redirect the laser with a regular cube (brain freeze) I found the intended solution in good order. Very enjoyable map, all in all. Thanks for your work.
Majacura 25 Mar, 2016 @ 3:15pm
I played both the version in which you could have the laser hit its target from the ground and this new one and the trick is impossible to do now, you have to solve the puzzle the way it is intended. Good work!
Apple5eed  [author] 25 Mar, 2016 @ 2:26pm
I finally managed to create a new version to fix the issues that came up here. Angled laser beams and portal bumping should not be possible any more (at least not in a way that it breaks the puzzle). Thanks again for all the feedback. It always helps me to improve :)
Hakunamtata 25 Mar, 2016 @ 7:13am
good
commandoby 25 Mar, 2016 @ 6:52am
Во второй комнате я неплохо так подзастрял. Забыл, что оптический куб обычные кнопки может жать.

AppleSeed: you should know the things you ask, if you are a good map creator. If you want, you can reveal to me if you did anything special to make this map get 1100 ratings in 1 week. My maps are playtested, and they don't even get 50 people looking at the page, in a year. All I want is to get my maps played. Try my Cube Adventures.
(Edgy) Asriel Dreemurr 24 Mar, 2016 @ 3:12am
I believe all you would need to do in order to have the second room be solved the way you want is remove all the portal surfaces on the floors and along the walls at the same height as the laser receiver for the exit door. As well as removing them on the wallblock sections that the fizzlers are on (to prevent the portal bumping glitch).
Apple5eed  [author] 24 Mar, 2016 @ 12:14am
@woodcroft: Yet another solution ^^ Thanks. I really have to be more careful with these reflective cubes.

@wildgoosespeeder: Thanks for the feedback. I was not aware of portal bumping when building this map. I am now ;) I yet have to decide if I am going to change something here but I will definitely keep it in mind for the next chamber.
woodcroft 23 Mar, 2016 @ 11:17pm
Great puzzle. At first I thought this was the intended solution: http://imgur.com/I53pJWt
wildgoosespeeder 23 Mar, 2016 @ 11:13pm
Reduce the amount of white because a glitch known as "portal bumping" makes this chamber super easy to complete. Also remove a lot of portal walls and floors.. A laser cube can be angled through a portal to open the exit.
(Edgy) Asriel Dreemurr 23 Mar, 2016 @ 11:10pm
@3eagle you use an angled panel set to 90 degrees as a doorway, and set something to open it. If portals are needed to trigger the panel, you can put a fizzler behind the panel. Once you walk through the portals will go away and the door will shut permanently.

Another way is to use a pedestal button connected to an angled panel. You can have the button be pressed permanently by lowering the timer on it until it says "- -" or infinite time. Usually I also have such a button activate an element that's needed for the next part of the chamber.

how do you pull it up? (i am a noob)
