Very good map, I enjoyed it a lot. The puzzle was interesting and the hammer work was pleasant. Big thumbs up!

The turret is a big improvement. The final move, like the final move in Primer , is rather spectacular.

Turret seemed to have helped, I had no trouble :winter2019happyyul: Good looking map!

Feel so stupid. Saw the possibility of a cube fall from high bridge to low bridge solution early on but rejected it thinking the cube would bounce to much to retain its orientation on the laser catcher. I should have tried it before rejecting it as it works without a hitch and maybe could have avoided seeing the solution in the video. Took a bit of noclip, but did find the traditional hidden CC:steamhappy:.

This would be a perfect map... if it wasn't for one little detail. You can see on 0:45 in the video that you actually have to put the lazer through that wall.... while on the map I sat there for whole 30 minutes before I saw that, and then had practically figured out the solution.

This is bad level design, and the very flaw on some basic PeTI chambers: the time you spend thinking on the solution is how you're gonna do it, not looking for the elements, that all should be on your face. Please make a grid there (the alternate version of glass from PeTI) so it's more noticeable, and maybe add some lighting.

Someone came up with the genius idea of putting a turret behind it, that is looking at the entrance through the hole. I may add it, should I ever install the game and dev tools again.

Brilliant puzzle, but like many others here, it took me a long time to see the hole. There should have maybe been like an arrow or something that made it more obvious. However there were still some really neat moves in this map so it gets a thumbs up from me.

This is a good puzzle.

(Don't worry, it's an inside joke. Neat map! I do have to agree with the others on the hole in the wall but I think you've heard enough of that already.)
Nobody No-One 1. juni 2018 kl. 15:41
I enjoyed it. However, I agree with what everyone else said about the hole in the wall . Actually, I noticed it really early on but immediately dismissed it as unintended until I looked at the comments and saw that it was indeed intended. It also raises the question: if this test hadn't decayed like that, how would it have been solvable? It doesn't really make sense for Aperture to design a test that is impossible unless it's abandoned and decays. Thumbs up for the rest of the puzzle though.

Great puzzle and looks fab. Like some of the others below, I also didn't see the hole and resorted to reading their spoiler text - once I knew, I couldn’t believe I didn’t notice it in the first place! After that I worked through it OK.

Thanks! No, the brids aren't there by default. They are part of ambient sound presets that are used throughout the Portal 2 campaign. The built-in puzzlemaker sets it to some "industrial" sounding stuff.

The title is a reference to the original version "Catch", like the light bridge is supposed to catch the cube.

And I'm really starting to regret that hole... :steamsalty:
DarkCloud 28. juli 2017 kl. 0:29
On a different note: the design of the map especially the plants on the ceiling and the bird sounds (i assume they're not there by default) are really creating a convincing atmosphere.
DarkCloud 28. juli 2017 kl. 0:12
Thanks for the map. Didn't find the hole though. I jumped with the cube from above aming midair. Took some time but worked as well. It's a lil unfortunate: the concept of the puzzle is cool but the thing with the hole feels so against the rules i didnt even consider something like it. Maybe I'm just too used to your everyday clean maps.

I dont know what "Catch 22" means tbh but the title could hint a lil more to the hole. Something like "decay is de key" just less cheesy ;-).
olshi  [ophavsmand] 17. juli 2017 kl. 10:11
I tried to hint at it with the lighting so that when you stand near the entrance you should clearly see the bright wall on the other side. Maybe I could have done more. But the hole doesn't seem to be a good idea to begin with.
K7 Avenger 17. juli 2017 kl. 4:14
Very clever ending. Well done. Only thing I didn't like was the hole in the wall you had to guide the laser through. I had to look at the walkthrough because it wasn't very obvious there was even a hole there.

Very difficult for me... Thanks for creating, and headache !

This is a nice puzzle but there is one thing that isn't very clear and that is the hole in the wall to send the laser through. I knew that the cube had to drop at some point, but getting there is just not fair and punishing. Change that hole in the wall to a big grate or something. Maybe the grate isn't necessary at all. Just something to give the player a better clue how to proceed.

Tried to epic-solution-jump once, ended into goo, gave up, did it the right way. Nice (didn't think it would work actually ^^) Blindrun [www.dropbox.com]

Creative puzzle with great visuals! It took me a while to see the hole . :/
Playthrough video .

Thumbs up! :p2cube:
kalonord 25. apr. 2016 kl. 6:55
It is ok because there are people who had no problem with it. I'm just not experienced player. I knew that here you need to activate the bridge with laser going straight not angled because then you have to respawn the cube , but i couldn't see how to do it. I had no problem with original map.
olshi  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2016 kl. 6:17
I thought that hole would be a neat idea. Guess I was wrong, and it only seems to confuse poeple.
olshi  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2016 kl. 20:41
How does this work? Who gets notified when I respond here?
Anyway, about the jump from the glass ledge: That looks so painful, I would never have thought of that. I don't know how I could prevent the player from trying. Sorry for the pain. :steamfacepalm:
Free Beer 24. apr. 2016 kl. 12:03
This is a really great looking map and great puzzle to match!
kalonord 24. apr. 2016 kl. 9:38
i finished it but i doubt that it was intended. I had to jump from those glass ledge and catch myself with bridge . anyway i'm going to watch solution since i spent more than 5 hours on this and could not find logical solution....
dire.fcs 23. apr. 2016 kl. 12:20
Two solutions i found: one similar to Polux and the one intended, nice map.
quatrus 23. apr. 2016 kl. 10:31
Aargh.. thanks for the walkthrough. I could see where I needed the cube but no idea how to get it there on the bridge....learned a new trick today - thanks for creating.

Your solution is awesome.
