fun update: we made a trailer! using the new courses, we recreated the old trailer from portal, and it's super cool! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reUiXkRjNyc
if you like it, share it with people!
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 18 AGO 2014 a las 12:20
try again, i've reuploaded
jbhypno 1 AGO 2014 a las 20:32
Test chamber 04 failed to download and kept crashing Portal 2.
Kirin 5 NOV 2013 a las 6:06
this is great! Now I don't have to hijack my sisters account in order to play portal anymore!
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 7 JUN 2013 a las 15:50
in theory, it is possible. if the designers of BEEMOD make it to where event triggers could also trigger audio clips, then i will immediately put every clip from the game i can in, and edit the chambers to match :D
Pavel 7 JUN 2013 a las 14:59
Do these chambers have dialogue from the first game?

Is it possible?
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 4 JUN 2013 a las 11:31
well i tried using translation sites and got the gist of your meanings, extragamer. thanks for the comments! i'm glad you liked most of the courses.

big update, everyone. redid a couple courses, one of them being that pesky chamber 08. also, took screenshots of all of the courses to better represent them, seeing as how the old ones were pre-BEEMOD and were completely misleading in appearance.
Extragamer 31 MAY 2013 a las 2:46
Решил ради интереса быстро пробежать данные карты.В общем есть неплохие карты хорошо переделанные.Но много минусов:в некоторых местах освещение ужасное,большинство камер смотряться настолько просто что аж....
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 22 MAR 2013 a las 15:22
it's part of BEEMOD, a mod for the test builder that adds things like autoportals, triggers, and other things that the standard editor doesn't let you use. its fun and its free. you should try it out!
DrakonLeruki 22 MAR 2013 a las 14:52
How did you put the portal guns at the beginning?
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 17 MAR 2013 a las 19:48
hey thanks guys. sorry about the loading time; my computer is really fast and so i never thought to take into account loading speed. but i'm not sure how i would separate the courses if they were merged, because i wouldn't have any sort of elevator in between them. although now i'm already starting to plan an elevator out in my head...
Lama051 17 MAR 2013 a las 10:33
Very good set of maps (no wonder since Portal 1 was awesome), the only drawback are early maps. Those are solved faster than loaded. You could have merged them together.
protoborg 13 MAR 2013 a las 16:08
I applaud your work, sir.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 20 FEB 2013 a las 10:13
well you might not be able to see it but you can probably hear it. no matter how far i move the mechanism away the noise still travels. basically its 3 cubes triggering each other to fall on buttons in succession. when the last cube hits the last button, it destroys the first one and a new one drops.
and lol yeah wost sniper i stopped listening to caden forever ago. he keeps telling me to do things the way he wants, instead of realizing the way he wants isn't as accurate. its like trying to make an iphone app with sheldon cooper
Infinite Budgets 19 FEB 2013 a las 16:02
It's so cool how you made the portal locations automaticly change in testchamber 01 and 02. I wonder how you even did that!
Eimaeus 17 OCT 2012 a las 9:53
Hey! Haven't had a chance to play yours yet. However, I inadvertently have been doing this exact same project myself without being aware of yours! Nicely done. I'll be queueing them all up and playing them a bit later. (Only up to the ones I finished, because I don't want to be aware of the ones I haven't done yet.)

Also, just ignore Cadeη, he was trolling my collection page too. I think he's jealous he's not a great mastermind like us to think of doing a project like this. Feel free to check out my versions. I wonder how eerily similar they are.
N-Sunderland 18 SEP 2012 a las 12:46
@Caden It's his collection, he'll call it whatever he wants.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 16 SEP 2012 a las 21:42
i simply meant that i took the name for PETI remakes first
Ciirulean 16 SEP 2012 a las 20:19
Umm... you didn't have the name first. VALVe did. You've heard of Portal: The flash Version right? Well when VALVe made Portal for the X-Box they added bonus levels called "Still Alive" which was VALVe basically remaking the Flash Version.

Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 16 SEP 2012 a las 20:15
well there's the song, and then the one remake by some dude who kind of stole the name i had first >.< but i'm not gonna complain, he's done a great job
Ciirulean 16 SEP 2012 a las 20:01
Lol, but you do know what Still Alive is really right?
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 16 SEP 2012 a las 19:16
im sorry, what are you complaining about this time? lol
Ciirulean 16 SEP 2012 a las 15:06
You DO know what Still Alive is right? Because it's not this.
hoborg1 5 SEP 2012 a las 16:22
Totally awesome collection! Maps almost perfect replicas.
N-Sunderland 14 AGO 2012 a las 5:58
If you have any other problems with logic, I can help :) I enjoy figuring these things out.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 13 AGO 2012 a las 19:04
Ohhhhh, make the third switch START active, and turn off once you get there? works great! i can't believe i didn't see that. thanks, dude! +2 internet points
N-Sunderland 13 AGO 2012 a las 6:34
Super easy :)

Leave the buttons connected to the door as they are. Behind the door, add a trigger_once (if you're using a BeeMod door, make sure that the trigger and the door are in separate units, otherwise it'll close before you have a chance to step through). Then, make a NOT gate. Except don't. The BeeMod's NOT gates are [ent_create_profanity] and really don't work properly. Instead, make your own. To do that, make an off-map laser pointing at a catcher. Connect the catcher to the door, and the trigger to the laser. Make the laser start enabled. That's it :)
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 12 AGO 2012 a las 14:20
thanks, that helps me with some stuff, but i still need to figure out how to gate chamber 05. basically, i need the buttons to open the door, but i want the door to close behind them after they walk through it. any thoughts on that?
N-Sunderland 12 AGO 2012 a las 7:39
BTW, I've looked at your posts on the forum, and I've got solutions to some of your problems (I'm still waiting for my forum account to be activated). If you want to make a door that opens when you approach and closes when you walk through, just put a "trigger multiple" (in case you don't know, just put a trigger down and select "button type > cube") in front of the door, and connect it to the door. No need for any logic gates :)

Also, carl.kenner is making a style changer mod that will apparently also remove the need for packing energy pellets.

Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 10 AGO 2012 a las 20:22
Hey thanks N_Sunderland, that mod is FANTASTIC. I've already reworked up to chamber 04 and still cruising. Unfortunately, in order to actually put the energy pellets in, I would have to remake the maps and upload them from scratch, and I have to learn how to include the models in with the map using Pakrat. I would lose my viewcount :/
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 10 AGO 2012 a las 13:10
WHOA that sounds great! i will definitely look into that
N-Sunderland 10 AGO 2012 a las 9:36
There's a mod that was just released that contains things like energy pellets and pre-placed portals. You could probably improve your chambers a lot with it :)

I made a recreation of portal 2 in a collection called Portal: 2 the extreme.
Example.Bot 3 JUL 2012 a las 4:49
I like the idea of these, I have begun a remake of the chambers in hammer, with a twist. Still developing ideas though. Will have the very first chamber done within the week, if any of you are interested I will hopefully be able to upload it without any issues later this week
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 13 JUN 2012 a las 22:16
so we're nagging valve in the forums to put more stuff in the editor, like crushers, vacuum tubes, and different skins for walls. if they do some of that stuff, i may take a crack at making the escape chambers :D i wish i could make them in hammer but i have neither the time nor the patience to learn it. so for now i hope people just keep enjoying this, and we'll see.
[SAINGS] Nolls 27 MAY 2012 a las 15:02
I am more than impressed.
Soup Calhoun 25 MAY 2012 a las 12:38
I remade the GLaDOS battle, it can't just end with chamber 19.

the portal 2 authoring tools beta should have all the portal 2 stuff in
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 22 MAY 2012 a las 18:35
well which ones, i need specifics lol or i can't change anything
Sonic 22 MAY 2012 a las 14:29
Really great job, still there are a few test chambers that could be slightly different to follow the original ones
Willium_Bob_Cole 22 MAY 2012 a las 13:27
the crushing pistons you mention, you can most likely just make out of brushes, and set them as func_door. You can probably scuplt the puzzle aspects of the escape sequences in PTI, then take it over to hammer for the visuals including lighting texturing and the like. I hope to see that, this seems like a great collection that I'm about to play ^^

If you hadnt have done this, I probably would have had a go, and I'm sure many others think the same. This was inevitable but these look good quality so yey ^^
Adzetko 22 MAY 2012 a las 13:09
Awesome !
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 21 MAY 2012 a las 11:28
buy it on here it was like $6.75 the other day i wonder if it still is
Cappy 21 MAY 2012 a las 7:51
Man, it sucks having the xbox portal 2, I cant make test chambers or play new ones. wish I knew that before I got it D:
Lilly Nightfury 20 MAY 2012 a las 20:51
I wish anyone could recreate the GLaDOS AND Wheatly battle!
Rocky ★ 20 MAY 2012 a las 10:15
just great.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [autor] 20 MAY 2012 a las 10:09
you know, i actually considered doing the escape maps in hammer. however, idk how to work hammer, i've never used it before. i've had some other people mention it, so if you guys really want to see that i can certainly try. i don't know how i'd use some elements like the crushing pistons unless they're in hammer though.
Quickhakker 20 MAY 2012 a las 6:44
are you gonna do the escape maps in hammer
spaceman256 20 MAY 2012 a las 6:19
lol the idea that someone might do this crossed my mind the other day but i didnt think anyone would do it. very well done
