Damn I was missing the large grating, my mind just blanked it out ^^'
cantor0305 29 Jan, 2024 @ 12:47pm
very nice idea

This one is tough, I gave up too soon.
[idS]SchwarzeWitwe 3 Jul, 2023 @ 7:39am
Really nice one! Took me a while and my solution seems to be just another one! :steamhappy:

Thx for creating!
vallibus 26 Jan, 2023 @ 1:43pm
Didn't solve it the intended way (which is very nice,) but still happy I completed the chamber.
Hikari 21 Oct, 2022 @ 8:38pm
Four years. And I still remember the solution. Dang.
cnh2r 25 Feb, 2022 @ 5:06pm
Another great puzzle. Thank you!
dow101 1 Oct, 2020 @ 5:07pm
That was fun TY
Petutski 21 Mar, 2020 @ 1:44pm
Whew! Now that took lots and lots and lots of experimentation! The ah-ha moment came when the idea to use the tractor beam to hold the cube in place entered my feeble brain! Great demonic map!
Spider_Dawg 14 Apr, 2019 @ 6:03pm
Now that was truly demonic. I got it eventually, after trying countless different ways, including the same solution as Old Git, before finally seeing it. Aim the laser at the receiver, simple, right? But not easy. Awesome.

pleasant experience thanks for mapping

Nvm, saw your intended solution video and mine's different. Not all that different though. The only difference is that the second cube is still placed in the laser room, not against the wall on the grating using the reverse funnel . Here's my solution: https://youtu.be/_2zJ5CboZBs

Think it's fair to say I'm great at breaking puzzles..
zigzagtenniscoe 2 Dec, 2018 @ 12:46am
Came back to say I probably found the intended solution. Don't know why I had to set it all up with the weird angles and stairs
Demon Arisen  [author] 16 Feb, 2018 @ 10:34am
@Tronsnake Thank you! I think this might be a good one to remake.
Hikari 16 Feb, 2018 @ 10:28am
Another awesome puzzle with a mind-blowing solution! Also found the unintended solution that @wildgoosespeeder found.
Libbybapa 6 Sep, 2017 @ 6:35pm
I enjoyed it. Blind run: https://youtu.be/Sm62nsFO2OQ Thanks.
DarkCloud 28 Jul, 2017 @ 1:07am
Thanks for the map.
hestia.is.bestia 19 Mar, 2017 @ 4:28am
I did it a bit differently. Here's my run https://youtu.be/Z7Ar8Vi-HgA
Demon Arisen  [author] 6 Feb, 2017 @ 2:48pm
@gerversluis Thanks! Glad you liked it even though it's a bit weird :P
gerversluis 6 Feb, 2017 @ 2:40pm
Clever map!
bullfrog 6 Dec, 2016 @ 1:42am
Re my previous comment “agile mind, or someone who is just plain evil” : well, you have an agile mind, but probably a bit evil as well – I’m pretty sure I came up with the same type of solution as zigzagtenniscoe ; I’ve now looked at the intended solution and that is much, much more elegant
bullfrog 6 Dec, 2016 @ 1:01am
I can’t make my mind up; was that puzzle created by someone with a very agile mind, or someone who is just plain evil? Hummm, I’ll carryon trying to decide which it is, but in the meantime, thank you, that was brilliant.

Portal-less way to get the cubes to keep the exit open:

http://www.cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=786366516

How? I have the precision of an Xbox 360 or Xbox One Controller! :steammocking:
Demon Arisen  [author] 27 Aug, 2016 @ 4:16pm
@zigzagtenniscoe Yes that's why it's called Cubed, glad someone appreciates the clever pun! :D Clever solution, watch the walkthrough for the intended version :)
zigzagtenniscoe 27 Aug, 2016 @ 1:42pm
Either way, neat design as always. Took me 20 minutes in total, had to come back to it because I had to go do something else for a bit (not because I was stuck though).

Is the title "Cubed" because there's 3 cubes, and a number "cubed" is to the power of 3? :D
zigzagtenniscoe 27 Aug, 2016 @ 1:40pm
lol I think I completely cheated this map. With one cube I redirected the laser towards the nearest portalable surface I could get it to (the one in the same room at the same level, it goes diagonally from the laser). I put the portal to put the laser at the exact right spot, just on the point where the stairs meets the level above. I put the second cube there redirecting it towards a third cube which would ultimately aim it into the catcher. I pulled myself up through the funnel through the ceiling portal and when I got back to the exit area I put the portal back where it was before so the laser would go through in the same way as before and reach the catcher to open the exit door.
40ozKilla 20 Aug, 2016 @ 12:44am
11:00pm I can't figure out how to setup the 3 cubes for over 45 mins. Give up, go have about 6 drinks, come back at 3:40am and see the solution in less than 30 secs. The human mind is weird. Or maybe it's just mine.
Demon Arisen  [author] 20 Jun, 2016 @ 1:02pm
@dven1 Thanks! I especially appreciate the fact that you like the lighting :) I'll try my best to fix this chamber in a a couple of days.
dven1 20 Jun, 2016 @ 7:41am
Nice map, well made and lit. I did it like Old Git after trying a hundred other ways (well, maybe not quite a hundred). This solution requires a lot of fooling with portal placement and rotation but it works. Thanks for your work.
Demon Arisen  [author] 14 Jun, 2016 @ 12:30am
@p0rtalmaster Thanks very much! :D Yeah good plan, I'll try moving the portalable surface on the ceiling further back or something...
The Sojourner 13 Jun, 2016 @ 10:31pm
Just watched the solution vid. Very cool. You might consider removing/reworking some of the portalable surfaces on the ceiling to fix Old Git's & my unintended solution.
Demon Arisen  [author] 13 Jun, 2016 @ 2:07pm
@Miami Mike Yay thanks very much, glad it was devious! :D I can never quite gauge how difficult or obscure a solution is because obviously I know the solution, often tests which I thought would be really easy are apparently quite hard, and then ones which I think are really difficult are apparently quite easy!
Miami Mike 13 Jun, 2016 @ 8:17am
This is one of the truly difficult Demon Arisen tests that I look forward to, and in my view it has a perfectly legitimate solution.
Demon Arisen  [author] 13 Jun, 2016 @ 12:30am
@Jade BGE Thank you! :) Glad the description fits, I'm never quite sure whether a solution is unorthodox or not until I ask other people!
Jade BGE 12 Jun, 2016 @ 6:30pm
I liked this a lot. Your description is very fitting. A fun play for sure! Thanks.
dcook 12 Jun, 2016 @ 3:17pm
yeah/.... I did the same as jgault
Demon Arisen  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 10:32am
Hmm, clearly this needs some fixing, which is always the case with slightly weird tests like this one. Walkthrough video of the intended solution is now up on my YouTube channel and is embedded above :)
jgaultney 12 Jun, 2016 @ 10:00am
Nope. I didn't use the funnel in that way, either. :(
Screenshot
Demon Arisen  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 9:44am
@Old Git That's very clever, but no, I'll upload a walkthrough video!
Demon Arisen  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 9:26am
@dcook @jgaultney If you used the funnel to hold a cube against the grating wall then that's intended! I did say it was a weird solution...
jgaultney 12 Jun, 2016 @ 7:55am
Enjoyable puzzle. I used all three cubes to open the exit but, like dcook, did not put the
laser through any portals!?
dcook 12 Jun, 2016 @ 6:50am
Ok... solved with 3 cubes.. prolly not as intended? no lasers travel thru portals.
Demon Arisen  [author] 12 Jun, 2016 @ 1:02am
@Polux What do you not understand? Thanks for the videos anyway, that should be fixable if I put a light bridge before the exit which is activated by the laser which takes a few seconds to cross or something! :)
Polux 11 Jun, 2016 @ 2:20pm
@toncica What a cheeky question ;)
@Demon I don't understand your map ..

Demon Arisen  [author] 11 Jun, 2016 @ 1:36pm
@toncica I know I sometimes take a while to fix stuff, but please be patient. Today I've fixed that chamber, remade Pure Logic, and released a new test. I'm sorry it took a while to do, but I did get round to it eventually.
toncica 11 Jun, 2016 @ 1:22pm
I'll answer that as soon as I can. :p
Polux 11 Jun, 2016 @ 1:05pm
How many months that means? :p
