Playing this one after a while, must say for much of the same reasons as wildgoosespeeder mentioned I don't like this one or puzzles in its style quite as much as some others. I don't loathe it though. It's interesting in its own way.

Interestingly enough, it seems I did find another solution I didn’t see in the compilation. Do have to give you some props for being able to design something like this though. Although your newer puzzles are still a lot better 😅

Difficulty: 7.5/10
Design: 7/10
Enjoyed: 6.5/10

The short timer makes it a chore. So I quit.

It's just that you don't know how to do it, out of the many possibilities that a person could think of in this chamber, as opposed to most chambers (including some of your others, which are quite challenging and fantastic by the way) where there's only a few ways you can think of doing it, then it really comes to you. In a way this is great for the challenge of the puzzle, but it did leave me aimlessly running around for a while having zero clue what to do. (I was extremely tempted to look here in the comments for hints but I figured as a person who has over 2000 hours of Portal 2 gameplay under their belt I should be able to do without the spoilers. :P)

Wow.

I must have had this chamber in my list for like a couple years now and I can't remember if I ever did it to be honest. I think at some point I did, but it wasn't the right way cause it was missing a laser or something. I honestly can't remember though. This is definetely the first I remember I did it the right way. Or at least, what I think is the right way, because I've seen none on here so far that did the puzzle the way I did. Took me at least 2 hours and was great when I did it. I must say though, it's quite ambiguous and you don't quite know what to do. There are many, many ways you can try, most of them will lead you nowhere.

What ithilanor said. It's a bit of a chore having to deal with the initial set-up to get the perpetual laser going.

I used the same solution as N Twirl.

Puzzle's fine, just not my cup of 'tea' e.g. I don't get a kick out of solving these types of puzzle, but that's my 'problem', not yours ;)

Summerized all 3 Variante here for those interrested.

I think I got the intended solution : Here

i don't know if i did the last part right, i lined up a laser cube so that the laser was JUST touching it about as far over on 2 of the relays as it could go, inched one of the portals so the cube wasn't being hit and lift activator was so off, then inched it back to reactivate everything. I might be able to record a vid of my solution if my description is too confusing, but the recorder is a bit buggy, so I hope i can understand what i mean with what i said. Either way, it was an interesting puzzle, I don't feel like i did it right, it just feels cheated, but I did it none the less, so for that, humanity is grateful. 8/10
I got this map from wildgoosespeeder who said he couldn't solve it, well i did, so :p :p2cube:

I hate laser puzzles like DeathWish808 does. I leave dissatisfied even if I do solve it (like devious outsmart the fizzlers tests). Looking at other people's differing solutions, *ragequit*. I am familiar with perpetual lasers, as I did with a Mevious map, but that only got me so far. I hate unintuitive angling lasers to activate everything (while being on the platform). Never again will I reattempt to solve this (can't solve). Needs an official walkthrough from Gig...

Nope, even after all this time i still can't do it
My mind just doesn't work on things like that

Had to do a little ninja move there at the end, hehe. Pretty good regardless! Have a :ss13ok:
GuruMeditation 5 Jul, 2014 @ 12:55pm
Just initiated a perpetual laser and used portals to activate the elevator then the exit like this
No needed the third laser.
Very clever and nice puzzle !

Cool concept, incredibly irritating execution. Having to deal with the tiny timer makes this a chore.
Hazellius 28 Aug, 2013 @ 11:19pm
I was stumped for 2 hours at least on this one and it's been in my queue for half a year. Decided to finally go back to it and solved it in 3 minutes, but I pretty much did it the same thing as Agentfire, so it's unintended probably.

Great job
Special Agent Dale Cooper 25 Jul, 2013 @ 8:08am
After about 20 minutes I solved it exactly like AgentFire.
Great map! Thank you.
AgentFire 1 Apr, 2013 @ 9:43am
Solved with only one laser emitter and two laser relays, using only half of elements intended. Unintended or better than the original?
Gigo  [author] 4 Mar, 2013 @ 11:16pm
No.. no reportalling..
Mitch McWiggins 4 Mar, 2013 @ 7:00pm
Really great.
Is this the intended solution? Once things are set up, start the timer, reportal, and then 1 then 2 .
Fun, thanks!!
Rei 5 Jan, 2013 @ 8:10am
Great! I love it! ^_^
Wanna try my laser puzzle ?
electricfate 1 Jul, 2012 @ 6:34am
Good map, I got it in the end but it took a lot of time because I didn't know what to start with. I was familiar with the "laserception" or perpetual laser concept from Mevious' map (in which he linked to your map), however, I had many questions at the beginning. Such as:
- Do I start with reflecting the timed laser beam or portalling it?
- Where do I need to reflect/portal the beam to?
- Do I need to get both lasers going perpetually from the timed beam, or one at a time?
I'm not sure how to solve this problem of letting people know where to begin. For me it was just trial and error ( many trials) until I eventually had the right first step. There are many paths you can take that lead to nowhere.
Thanks for the experience

I dislike laser puzzles. Perpetual laser puzzles moreso. I do like the way you think. Annoying as it is. Perhaps one more second on the timer? Once I get a puzzle solved, I like to be able to execute it without too many attempts.
Brainer 4 Jun, 2012 @ 11:29am
very easy man, very easy :D
nqeron 23 May, 2012 @ 7:54am
great puzzle. Though, I managed to find a solution that required only two of the three lasers
Meow++ 20 May, 2012 @ 3:43pm
so far (in my opinion) the hardest portal puzzle i have ever tried. Very well done. Favorited
nice crispy bacon 20 May, 2012 @ 2:35pm
A "simple concept"? Lol no way. It took me like 2 hours to figure out. Nice puzzle though. Maybe I'm just slow.
Schmidli 20 May, 2012 @ 2:16pm
Lol I just position the cube so when I activated the laser, the door would open. Then I reportaled to get enogh height, clicked the button on the way down, airstrafed over to the door and finished without solving the actualy puzzle.
firat 20 May, 2012 @ 1:18am
this is day two! i'll go mental. chariot what am i missing?
great test(s) by the way:)
Serious 19 May, 2012 @ 9:43pm
I did it using just one of the non-button lasers, is there a solution using both?
Publishme 18 May, 2012 @ 5:38am
got it after some try, but i poorly have to admit that i read your little clue :/
without i´ve realised it times later :/
but great map :)
Vintage 17 May, 2012 @ 2:09pm
Ahh well that makes sense. Ignore my comment :)
Gigo  [author] 17 May, 2012 @ 1:59pm
No, no you are meant to somehow leave the lasers on by activating them with other lasers
Vintage 17 May, 2012 @ 1:56pm
Pretty sure that timer is meant to be 5 seconds not 3 (or i'm missing something)
