Nice set of chambers. The only issues I saw were not dying when I fell into the goo sometimes, and the surfaces sometimes shimmered, or was that intended.

Ha. Sort of Deja Vu in reverse!

Hello.

Here is my blind play of your map. I hope you enjoy the video. To access your map directly, just check the description. There are multiple maps in the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7wfW2GcQZs

I was actually not sure if I should post this comment. I mean, why would you be interested in how people solve the map? But I guess the comments and stuff and how i receive the map is still interesting for you ;)

Very fun map. The map design are very nice. I love the light.

Turrets highly explosive. Handle with care

@// audiotrash, like I said, that goo pit was confusing and frustrating. To try to get to the ledge to do the extended double fling as you intended somehow requires the player to look not only up to find the portalable surface, but backwards as well. Very, very frustrating and confusing, and that goo pit isn't helping.

I also know that you weren't trying to fully re-create portal, however you should be careful with your interpretations of such chambers. Valve had reasons for why the chambers were as they were.

@Inspirata: My goal wasn't to remake Portal 1:1, so yes, there should be a goo pit there.
The Sojourner 19 Sep, 2012 @ 5:25pm
I could solve the last room without having to travel through a single portal. Kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

@mood3rd, that happened to me too. I didn't know that goo pit was escapable! Actually, there shoud never have been a goo pit there, as there was no goo there in the original Portal. Confusing and frustrating in that one area.

Didn't fall in the non-deadly water once, but i'm sure you're part number 3 is much more frustrating than the original. Had to try it many times.

good work
really felt the DeJa Vu, that time.
you caused my memory to do a partial reboot.
what was I saying.
oh, partial reboot.
I lay there, in the goo, waiting for the game to re-load.
then to my amazment, realised I was still alive.

Fun, but couldn't get up to the spot to jump from at part 3. Could really do with one more portalable wall at the top to get there

Its fun playing the map.

Water doesn't kill you, i dunno if it was intended or a bug
SEMAN 11 Jun, 2012 @ 11:54am
yeh

Best of the DeJa Vu series so far! The map is beautifully designed. There is only minor issues like very slow moving platforms (the ones hovering above laser line) and no autosave in final room. Good work :)
ArgleBargle 9 Jun, 2012 @ 10:19pm
Shame on those of you who had problems. The solutions were pure Portal 1.
ArgleBargle 9 Jun, 2012 @ 10:18pm
I are confoozled. I didn't die when plunged into the murk. I'm with Kibate, though. The map was mostly true to the title: Deja vu. Thumbs up.
Nchalada 8 Jun, 2012 @ 9:25am
The only issues I'm having with these dejavu maps are the High Energy Pellets are purple and black boxes.
Le Petit Mort 7 Jun, 2012 @ 3:56pm
The alteration of making the path to the 'drop' portal-gated is thoughtful, but adds unnecessary downtime should the player fail to fling; oddly, the water in said section is not deadly.
Kibate 7 Jun, 2012 @ 3:44am
@Stric_Matic: When the pole stays up while the platform lowers it's actually a bug of Portal2, not this maps. It happens when a moving platforms moves up and down too often. You can test it when you make a map of your own(just connect it to a cubebutton and move on and off the button and you will see)
Stric_Matic 7 Jun, 2012 @ 3:32am
The platforms in the last room seem buggy - when they descend, they don't make any sound and above all, the pole stays up and the player can sit on it while the rest of the platform keeps lowering.
Kibate 7 Jun, 2012 @ 3:12am
On one hand i like that you made these chambers a bit harder than the original one, on the other hand i was expecting some breather here, aka "Oh portal1 levels, i can sit back and enjoy these because i know all the answers"
also i can't agree with most complains below me, it wasn't too slow or too hard or anything. For anyone who played portal1 would know these maps are almost exactly alike
Portalized 6 Jun, 2012 @ 10:47pm
Things moved a bit too slow for me - speed everything up and it will be much more fun and more challenging -
Platforms were way too slow - energy ball was too slow - etc. The acid was shallow - I walked out of it. But I did enjoy being back in Portal 1 even with the new design. Thanks!
Brainstone 6 Jun, 2012 @ 2:58pm
After the platforms, which float on the light beam is a chamber. In this chamber, the energy ball killed me. Consider an autosave here.

I agree with Bipolar Marshmallow
H3N 6 Jun, 2012 @ 12:47pm
im done with part 4 i had to cheat for a tiny bit of time becuase it was hard but sorry
Rulamia 5 Jun, 2012 @ 10:17am
Thanks for putting a pool in. My little ducklings loved it!
Audiotrash  [author] 5 Jun, 2012 @ 3:15am
@ Bipolar Mashmallow:
It should work just fine. Just have a look around ;)
IkeMcMonocle 4 Jun, 2012 @ 10:00pm
There doesn't appear to be any solution to the puzzle in the third room. Reaching the platform to fling yourself is impossible thanks to the positioning of the portalable surfaces.
joannebaby 4 Jun, 2012 @ 3:04pm
i had to use cheats its sooo hard i had to use noclip
PoKoroMorgan 4 Jun, 2012 @ 12:53pm
the water isnt toxic, i swam in it
