I played with Vanilla Fishing Expanded, and it’s just an arcade “bad thing”, and I’m sincerely looking forward to updating this mod, even if in Dubs, but definitely not vanilla, where there are 99 types of sea creatures and not a carcass that you butchered like an ordinary animal and cooked it the meat is simple.

I don't think this mod will ever be updated in the future since Vanilla Fishing Expanded exists. In which the topic of fishing is very extensive, and in addition there are no problems where fish "turned" into meat, in the case of recipes. :sotshark:

I can't build the fishing pier at a river because the wood seems to keep floating away. Even my best builder is not fast enough to finish building it...

Does anyone else have this problem?!

How fast does the fish stock replenishes? Just download this one to give it a try because I liked the idea of aquaculture, but whatever I set up a fishing zone the fish stock remains at zero and the pier went to zero after a single catch. Couple of in-game days later and it´s still zero...

After testing all day, I figured out that this mod, conflicting with some other mod in my list, was causing animals in my game to stop breeding normally and birds to stop producing eggs.

This is just a heads up in case if anyone else sees a similar problem in their game. I'm using too many mods to post a log or help with troubleshooting.

is it intended that butchering fishes drops clothes? its making quite a mess, ass my tailor or haulers cant keep up disasembling/burning it

@Nevermind: Thanks for the heads up. I never encountered this error but I corrected the verbClass as suggested by VEF authors.

I've also reported this to VEF authors and got this response:
"Bug in the FishIndustry mod. The fish races all use "Verb_MeleeAttack" for their attacks, but that class cannot be used. Tell the author to use "Verb_MeleeAttackDamage" instead."

Hi Rikiki! There is some sort of conflict between Vanilla Expanded Framework and FishIndustry. Whenever my pawn successfully catches a fish, I get a "Could not instantiate Verb" error. It doesn't seem to matter if FishIndustry is loaded before or after VEF, the error appears anyway. Tested it on a new save with just these two mods active (and Harmony as a dependency for VEF).

Steps to reproduce the error:
1. Create a colony on a map tile with some water (ideally on an ocean coast to speed up the process).
2. Place a fishing zone on shallow water (the bigger zone, the better), assign a pawn to hunting job.
3. Wait until fish stock in your fishing zone replenishes, then your hunter should start fishing. Only successful catches of fish (not oysters) cause the error.

For some reason, whenever I try to build a fishing pier, it collapses before it can be built. Not sure why it's doing that, but does anyone else have a similar incident?

@Rikiki For some reason, when I put raw fungus into a hopper, it doesn't pick it up as food. Is that a bug? I was hoping to use my Nutrifungus farm to fuel my Aquaculture.

@Dagroth: This is a good idea but as I am using the vanilla hopper, I cannot add kibble to its allowed storage list.
You can indeed refresh the aquaculture room to preserve the ingredients in the hopper.

Would it be possible for the hopper used by the Aquaculture basin to accept kibble? It's animal food, so I think it'd make sense.

Admittedly, it'd be a quality of life change. I realised, after building the whole thing, that the rice put in would eventually rot, and so I had to turn the whole room into a walk-in freezer.

Temperature in the room with Aquaculture being below zero doesn't impact it negatively, does it?

Having an issue with this where it won't let me construct the pier because it needs "terrain that supports bridgeable" except the terrain *does* support bridges. I have no problem building bridges anywhere but the pier refuses to let me place it.

i think i found the mod causing the clothing issue, i removed prison util (i think thats what its called) and no more tainted clothes!

Same here, after cooking fishies at campfire, tainted clothes appear. The modlist is pretty heavy, so it's difficult to catch, but I'll try to check.

@Black Jesus: Well, technically, the job consists of feeding fishes so handling or growing skill would fit but you then kill them so hunting seems also appropriate.
