I agree with Curilee: It feels more like exploiting the game engine than it does solving a puzzle.
The game already asks us to accept that Chell can somehow dive through a portal 100 feet away at 80 MPH without dropping her cube -- but at least that concession is done in the name of making the puzzles more fun, more playable.
The idea that she can not only do all that, but also snatch a cube off a horizontal surface right next to the portal hole feels like too much to accept.
Again, if I had thought to do it, that would mean that I found it within the realm of things worth trying, and I probably wouldn't be compalining.
Anyway, so what if I didn't love the level. Lots of other people had a good time with it. So, thanks for taking the time to create something that makes people happy.
