I think the update last month maybe broke one of Ancient Cities warp portal area. The section when you need to swim underwater, once you jump in you can't jump out as it's too high lol.

@Babs is a troll who is projecting. The poor ignorant kiddo. This is amazing and thanks to the creator of this mod!

Thank you very much for this. I'm more a classic player than the remastered and I'm enjoying this way too much.

On the level 4 (Ruins) in one area there are Ultra Health, Minigun and Tek Armor on top of movable jump-puzzle columns, which you are intended to pick up by stepping on the pressure plate underneath, quickly running into the corresponding teleporter and jumping to the top, that the items are snapped to the floor, while in the remaster (and the original disc version) they are free floating in the air. It makes the puzzle obsolete as you just get on top of one of the deactivated pillars and skip the fun part by collecting all 3 items on the floor.
I thought I might manually verify actor snapping in the Editor for all the items in the game. Additionally I might decide to add secret triggers to the relevant secret areas in these original levels if they are missing such.
I'd like to ask experienced people how to get in the editor a list of all the items to go through one-by-one? What are some intended methods of testing and verifying every actor in a level that the devs and modders use?

Why wasn't this in the base game?
Miko 14 Mar, 2024 @ 6:59am
@quasardw bro do you have a link?

@Babs ???????
Kurai Shidosha 13 Aug, 2023 @ 7:28pm
It works but not from launching the game directly. You have to launch the map editor then load these maps and it'll work.
Oobwachan 13 Aug, 2023 @ 6:56pm
I tried using this, but nothing changed. I wonder if the current version of the game doesn't support this mod.

Thanks

Hello, if you choose "load game" from a game where you played Turok non-modded...
Does this put you into the mod original levels or this load only the default levels?

newbie here, how do i start this mod.
Joshjoshajosh 7 May, 2020 @ 3:27pm
Awesome thank you! I was looking everywhere for that first fake wall secret area! Only to realise it wasn't in the game anymore!!

I made a GamePlay with this MOD:
Turok: Dinosaur Hunter
TOAST 5 Dec, 2019 @ 1:01pm
I was confused why I got lost at one point, much appriciated.
Kurai Shidosha 17 Jul, 2019 @ 5:07pm
Is there a way to overwrite the default maps with these so I don't have to launch the editor?
PixelPerfect 24 Sep, 2018 @ 10:04pm
I am absolutely baffled as to why Nightdive did not offer the OPTION to play the game with vanilla levels to start with. So much for gaming preservation of original content. It's great to see that some people around still care for the original vision by the original team. This needs to happen for Turok 2 as well.
AleK 23 May, 2018 @ 12:52am
it basically undoes everything nightdive did to fix the game
Lord Cylarne 10 Mar, 2018 @ 10:18pm
Ok, thanks for the response. I then have to ask what the mod pack actually does then? Initially, I thought these were Turok: Evolutions maps (before I figured out this was a different Turok game). So what did the original maps do compared to the "now" ones?

Thanks for your time.
quasardw  [author] 9 Mar, 2018 @ 10:09am
Use the "start normal game" option.
Lord Cylarne 5 Mar, 2018 @ 1:22am
I'm not sure how this is supposed to work... level00 automatically pits me versus a boss while level01 has Turok escaping a destroyed palace! Cut to credits, level 2 cuts to credits. Level 3 is a dinosaur boss. Can I have some help please?

Thanks.
Joshjoshajosh 19 Feb, 2018 @ 1:08pm
I thought the levels looked different than I remembered!
scott04sa22 12 Jul, 2017 @ 8:09am
i played through most of the original levels and i did not found any floating life forces in mid-air on my walkthrough.
WoodenKiwi 20 Mar, 2017 @ 1:19am
Oh, I did not know this. Thank you very much for the info! :)
quasardw  [author] 20 Mar, 2017 @ 12:35am
An editor update for GOG is actually in progress of being released and will include this mod amongst a selection of others by NDS contractors and employees; if you use the Galaxy client, I believe you can already download the updated version.
WoodenKiwi 19 Mar, 2017 @ 6:30am
Hi! This is a great idea. I'd love to try this mod, but I'm using the GOG-version of the game. Is there any way to get this mod for the gog-version?

Thanks in advance!
Antroid 16 Mar, 2017 @ 8:25am
Oh, thanks! Didn't even know about this developer mode, but it was set to 1 in the cfg files for some reason. No clue how that even happened, but whatevs, checked the "normal game" after setting it to zero and the first level is finally in its original glory! Thanks again. I wish these were part of the official package and toggleable via options...
quasardw  [author] 16 Mar, 2017 @ 7:24am
@therealantroid Do you have developer mode active, or anything in your local mods folder? If so, disable developer mode because it will cause the local files to override the mods you're loading. I meant to tweak this but Turok 2 happened and I've not had time to think about further updates to this game since then.
Antroid 13 Mar, 2017 @ 8:01am
I can't get this to work. I run the editor, go to the workshop items tab, select this one, click "run with selected mods", it offers me a level list when I press "start game", but when I press "normal game" it launches the remastered level 1 with that new fancy courtyard where the second key is. I would select the first level manually but how do I even find it in the list? The first level in the list is the campaigner bossfight, and the last ones don't even do anything.

Is there a tool for creating new levels for Anubis project?
quasardw  [author] 17 Jan, 2017 @ 9:11am
The primary reason for edits was to add detailing that 1997 systems (mainly the Nintendo 64) could not handle, and to allow for increased draw distance. Relatively few edits were done for gameplay reasons by comparison, though of those that were done, the most dramatic overhaul was to the Treetop Village, which had a pretty major problem of keys that could be missed, requiring the entire level to be replayed several times in a way that the QA testers felt was a net negative.
Chaka (FR) 12 Jan, 2017 @ 2:06am
So the original ones were a bit buggy?
quasardw  [author] 11 Jan, 2017 @ 6:03pm
All the main levels were edited, at least. I'm not sure all of the spirit world levels were modified, but I know a few received fixes (for example one had a large number of life forces floating in mid-air that were brought down to the ground below).
Chaka (FR) 11 Jan, 2017 @ 3:15am
Just another question: what lvls are concerned by the changes in the actual turok version?
quasardw  [author] 5 Jan, 2017 @ 2:43pm
You can create a new one while playing, but don't try to load one that you saved during the normal game.
Chaka (FR) 5 Jan, 2017 @ 2:42pm
Game saves are not compatible i guess?
Chaka (FR) 5 Jan, 2017 @ 2:09pm
Ah ok, thx very much!
quasardw  [author] 5 Jan, 2017 @ 12:53pm
You should use the normal game option for this mapset, though starting from the first level will have the same effect. Playing with extended view distance will not cause gameplay issues, you'll just be able to see a lot of areas in levels that you shouldn't be able to see.
Chaka (FR) 5 Jan, 2017 @ 11:51am
Is this launcheable with normal game or do you have to choose lvl in starting menu? Thx.
What happen if launched with far distance? Crash?
Buttchouda 5 Jan, 2017 @ 8:55am
"Awesome work, is there a list of all of the level changes? I know some of the major ones but I'm pretty sure I don't know them all. Would love to see comparisons of all of the changes."

Seconding this! Just finished with my playthrough of the remaster and while I definitely noticed some changes I'd like to see what all I missed. My guess though is that a list of this would be very difficult to make and probably doesn't exist :(

This is one of my favourite games of all time. Glad to see the interest in keeping it as original as possible :)
When I finish my first playthrough (in about 18 years) I'll load this mod up and go thru again on Hard :)

Pretty awesome stuff, give me some time and I'll look into making cleaned up versions that work with extended draw distance.
