I was banging my head for almost an hour on trying to figure out a way to jump across the water but I didn't know that one of the plates turned off the fizzler :steamfacepalm:

For some reason the suction thingy didn't work for me that time. Might just be a glitch :P

@XYHC: Yes, there was an other solution:
You were supposed to suck all turrets away with the given Suction-Tubes. In the first room you were introdued in the sucking ability with the first turret. Then you just had to suck them away using portals (one under the Vent and the other one where you want to suck) with this technique you were able to suck every single turret away within seconds ;)

Did I do this right? I tried throwing the a cube through a portal so that it hits a turret up there and falls into the goo and I get a new cube back to repeat the procress till all the turrets are killed. Took me many tries since the cube usually got left on the grate instead of falling into the goo. Was there like another solution?

I resisted the urge, to unbox the delivery :)
I thought seeing the room with the funel etc, was a preview of where I was going (not).
good shot out.
I got to VENT my anger on the turrets :)
never seen gratting that moves, before. (& have played many maps over the years)
it was a good edition to this map & used well.
thankyou for the faithplate.
as I figured it out, while at the exit, with the wrong cubes on the wrong buttons.
logical / satisfying / fun :)

This test chamber put up quite a fight, but I managed to trap myself by getting the redirection cube into the gap between the exit door and the fizzler. Also, if you have a cube on the platform with a death grid above it, you can just barely reach it by placing one portal above it and the other on a ground level wall.

best part was the cube flying accross the room cause of the PDV, fairly simple test overall, but since its the first one it should really be that way to train the player. So good job and I look forward to the next ones. 7.5/10

Same as NightGHawk8P. Cube gets sucked into the first vent, but isn't destroyed. No new cube coming into the game = stuck.

@DRUNK-N-DENNYS: Yep :D I know this "bug". The reason why that happens is cause your blue portal is too near to the vent and strangely influents the cube that way, if you put it a bit further away it stops doing that. But you're right, there are still bugs, also with particles and stuff ;)

I didn't understand that you needed the first vacuum to kill the turrets guarding the height , so I proceeded to jump across the acid pool directly ( if you jump immediately as you land on the marker, you'll preserve the necessary speed to jump over ) - doing that, glados won't comment and you'll be stuck in the end room (since it appears the game ends if Glados finishes commenting)
I waited a good 5 minutes for something to happen xD

Since the thing with the vacuum looked tricky I first thought it was the only way to do it and had no idea the level was supposed to end here :P was about to downvote but It has a such high rating I realised I might have done that thing wrong, and I found out how to do it right this time.

Great map. The second chamber could use a button for the cube dropper (the glass cube can get stuck on the platform with three turrets high up below the ceiling) to avoid having to restart the level. Otherwise very enjoyable ;)

1. Yes, there are some problems with the particles.. sometimes if you die they are hidden, too.. even if they are turned on. and the sucking particles at the end of a portal are also caused by the point_push entity, which means, that I can't change it unless I change the entity code (and I'm not able to do that :D)
2. The vacuum doesn't variate, it's tha angle from which you place the portal which affects the power ;)

Cool map. Nice concept.
But are some graphical error:
1. The particles in fornt of a portal stay, even if the suction stops.
2. If a second suction gets active the first doesn't show particles anymore.

Also the strenght of the suction varies sometime:
First the portal at the second vent and the portal over the turrets on the bridge doesn't suck them in and after replacing it does.

But really cool concept.

Best use of the vents I've seen so far! Valve may have thought them to be nothing more than a gimmick but you've shown they can be used cleverly in removing turrets and cubes off buttons.


Especially loved the part with the cube on a button and a panel with a grate beside it. The way you can temporarily remove a cube off a button via suction, then simply drop it back on by removing the portal through which the vent is operating is really unique.

Wow, that was tough. The first half was pretty good, but the second half was *hard*! Perseverance won the day in the end. Very clever second half!

Fun chamber. The last part was actually challenging but once I figured it out it was all good, except for the cube dropper. Stupid thing had two cubes stuck and wouldn't come down, so I had to portal jump and grab to unstuck it. Ended up with three cubes, lol. Obviously nothing you could do about it. Otherwise all good.

WoW that ending had me stumped. I just could not figure it out. After reading what GeoJjx said in his spoiler, I finally got there. Makes you feel silly after you see how its done. :) Great job on making such a good map. Thanks.

Fun little map. I just wonder why the vacuum pump chamber only has two walls and a floor. It looks odd that it's kind of floating in spa(aaaaaaaaa)ce.

I liked it but there are ways to get stuck without the cubes actually being destroyed in the last section. Adding buttons to respawn the boxes would fix it.
