At least I can solve one of Azorae's maps!

Don't feel bad, Miami Mike. I'm almost embarrassed how long it took me to figure this one out.

Beautiful.

the solution is simple, just the position where the cube should put is too weird, bad position design

Fun map

Clever map !

I like to have a decent range of difficulties for people who want to ease their way into stuff like Trenches and Solitude. This and Preparation are great starting points for players less familiar with more cerebral puzzles.

I'm playing some of your maps and i find this unusually easy. Took me few minutes. Anyway fun to play. Thanks

Pretty easy but fun. Nice to see a lack of connections, while still knowing what activates what.
andyb778 18. mar. 2016 kl. 18:21
I solved it slightly differently than others. I activated the bridge normally using a blue portal at the laser. Then on the far side of the river I placed a blue portal on the wall so I could quick go in and out to grab the cube to bring it to the far side. I then shot an orange portal over the river to the laser and brought the cube to the laser platform. From there it was a simple matter of lighting up the exit catcher, and going through the portal to the exit.

Great short map. I first found a bizarre glitchy solution based on putting the cube 1/2 way through the portal in the front of the laser. This created some weird effects (e.g. the laser would go through solid walls), but allowed me keep the cube on the same ledge as the laser, cross the bridge and return to the ledge to finish. But there is also a natural `proper' solution, with the cube on a different ledge from the laser.

When I finally got it, I felt dumber than the people who were trying to escape through the air ducts.

Nice map! Neat map to take a "break" so to speak from the more challenging ones. Solution's quite clever as well, I thought somehow you have to portal the laser to the catcher but then I noticed there was no portalable wall, so I assumed you had to make the cube float in midair somehow maybe via a light bridge (lol) which didn't end up happening. That led me to go into the laser room and use the cube to redirect the laser into its catcher, opening the exit. Neat little clever map. Thanks :)

Nice logical, relaxing, beautiful map! Thanks!

hello, i played your test and liked it, i wonderd if its ok of i base a puzzle im working on on yours? i can send you a prototype for evaluation if you want.
Chelliste 8. okt. 2014 kl. 7:38
I can't believe nobody has rated this since last December. Easier than most in the Azorae / Mevious pantheon of maps, but better than 90% of the maps out there.

I found it kind of easy to do. It works. No problems.

A pet peeve of mine is symboled/hidden links instead of antlines. I guess it doesn't affect the ability to solve. I've seen way worse where it becomes a tedious guessing game. Hidden links work in two cases involving a lot of antlines: If the activated object and activator are right in front of you and activating a "mechinism" (meaning multiple things activated that are in the same spot like several angled panels in a row).

Quite easy, not much of a trick to it. Nicely executed though.

Nice map, the solution wasn't too easy, nor too hard.

The solution is there: Go to the ledge while transporting your cube and fire two portals to activate the laser catcher linked to the bridge. Then shoot a portal (same color as the one close to the emitter) on the surface across the river, redirect the cube towards the catcher linked to the door, return to the other side and fire a portal on the laser.

pretty straightfroward. I like it

Just finished the No Elements. Liked your contributions to it. Decided to play all of your other test chambers. After playing No Elements, it took my brain a few minutes to re-adjust to cubes and laser beams. :)

Took me a minute, but I figured it out. Clever puzzle. I found it easy, but it can be tricky if you don't know what you're doing.

If you are stuck, keep in mind, that you never need to toss the cube and you never need to move the cube through portals.

Hint
The portal surface, with the laser beam shining at it, is visible from across the water

Nice map

i love you level design, not one of your hardest puzzles but cool none the less
GraveNoX 8. jan. 2013 kl. 0:33
Too easy and nice built map.
harbin9er 4. jan. 2013 kl. 22:02
much easier relative to all your other maps... I did notice that easier/'more user friendly' maps seem to get higher ratings. Maps that are hard/challenging get lower ratings. Weird.
AgentFire 9. dec. 2012 kl. 10:31
I did just thrown the cube from first floor to the laser emitter :)
Dale Cooper 24. nov. 2012 kl. 7:56
a little bit too easy but funny
Minus 14. nov. 2012 kl. 9:48
Short and fun !
Azorae  [ophavsmand] 3. nov. 2012 kl. 8:35
No, you should never have to place the cube inside of a portal. I'll try to fix that, thanks
LPChip 3. nov. 2012 kl. 2:49
Fun map. I'm not entirely sure if I solved it correctly, and I missed the antline for the pedestal button that gives the redirection cube. Not a big issue though...
What I did: On the ledge on the left, shoot a portal and shoot one where the laser comes. Bring cube there and to to the side of the laser emitter. The cube will be half in the portals but should be more on the laser side. Go over the lightbridge, shoot a portal and you will have the redirection cube there to set it up right. Is that the intended solution?
Innocentive 28. okt. 2012 kl. 10:21
Easier? Yes ... Fun? Yes! ... Thumbs up? YES!!!

I know that i've already asked, but once again, if youre not busy, check out some of my maps. Your highly respectable opinion would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!
tuyuqas 23. okt. 2012 kl. 4:37
Wohoooo :D Know why I'm so happy? Because this is already the 4th of your tests that i could solve without watching the walkthrough video!!!! :D This one was pretty much a relief after your "Lasers and Light Bridges". Brrrrrrrr... desperately tried to solve it for hours, without any results.
As always, fantastic job, Azorae!
gaden002 22. okt. 2012 kl. 13:42
Sometimes I don't know for sure if I used the intended solution, as was the case in this one. Never the less, I have enjoyed most of your chambers, keep up the great work.
Azorae  [ophavsmand] 16. okt. 2012 kl. 21:10
Thanks! My newest map, Pinpoint, expands on the concepts here if you'd like to check that out.
Manifest Breastiny 16. okt. 2012 kl. 21:08
Clever little puzzle. Had me stuck for a while, then I finally figured it out :D. This is getting a thumbs up from me!
Mathey2009 13. okt. 2012 kl. 21:06
thumbs up! loved it....i like the way u have to think about the portal placements....
Moth 2. okt. 2012 kl. 9:22
Agreed, a bit on the easier side but nonetheless a great chamber.
Geneosis 4. sep. 2012 kl. 2:34
Well, I think I would rate it as "Medium" difficulty : the solution is not too hard to execute, but you need to think about it a moment to get the idea ^^ Nice puzzle!
Heyu 1. aug. 2012 kl. 9:55
You're right, this is a bit on the easier side. It's nice to see somebody making use of the fact that lasers go through glass.
