Haha I really liked that. I enjoy how you have to maneuver a lot!

Nice puzzle!

Cool puzzle. The first half of my time was just doing what I could do and seeing what that got me. Setting up a gel accelerator finally helped me see what the moving platform was for. Initially did a bridge climb, but had a head slap after seeing the better solution in videos . Nice!

Cool little map

Congratulations Fumbly, you made a beautiful conversion gel map I actually like :-) Some interesting moves in here. I'd rate it a 6/10, rather upper medium than lower hard. No issues with the faith plate btw. I didn't read the description before, so unfortunately the cc was a red herring for me and thinking about when and how to get it and what to do with it disrupted my flow a bit :-( Maybe you should've hidden the cc a bit more to make it a clear secret. Anyway, after I read about it I tried to reach out for it. A soon as one prepared the exit conditions it's not that hard to take a short detour and collect it.
With this map you've once more earned a huge thumbs up! Thanks for creating :-)

Pretty neat puzzle, though I think medium-hard is a bit of an overstatement. Still, a very enjoyable map with very minimal elements but a surprisingly precise solution. Big thumbs up :D

The companion cube was easier than I thought it would be. Nice chamber.

Whew! Excellent diabolical map! Never did get the cc. Thanks for your work!

I took so long to solve this one that I thought it had whipped me. Good gel map. Very well made. A real thinker of a logic problem. Some different strategies required and I almost didn't see them. Thanks.

Great as always! This one only took me an hour or so to solve, so I guess I'm getting better? :steamhappy: Also it looks like gel has no maximum velocity and just keeps getting faster and faster?
Jinx136 22 Feb, 2019 @ 12:50am
This is the first time I had to fling a gel . This took me days to solve, though. The solution didn't come to my mind immediately. Added to favourites.

Thanks for the fun!

Nice! I tried to upload my blind run, but Youtube says they don't have enough disk space to store the whole thing.

Very good and original map, and clever use of the conversion gel. The faithplate gave me a hard time too but nothing too tedious. I solved it exactly as Nobody No-One did, except towards the end where I climbed with the lightbridge like Almisuifre. Glad to know there was a cleaner solution. Thanks for sharing!
volodi-mir 23 Jul, 2018 @ 3:50pm
pretty tough map but I enjoyed it very much! great job :)

Fun map. Excellent use of conversion gel. I didn't find any exploits.

Excellent puzzle! Took a while to see how to get the cube on the moving platform. From that point to the end, it was pretty straight-forward. Thumbs up and favorite :)

Here's my blind run on it: https://youtu.be/UK7ySAMdhy4 Thanks.

@bullfrog Thanks!

Excellent puzzle. As long as the player orientates the portals correctly and walks onto the faith-plate directly from the back they shouldn't end up in the goo like I did; but once I'd worked that out, I was fine. I couldn’t see any exploits, which is pretty impressive for a map using conversion gel – you also used the conversion gel very well, which is also rare.

Thank you everyone for such wonderful feedback!
@LB The video is very much appreciated, thank you :)
hestia.is.bestia 23 Apr, 2017 @ 9:16am
The faithplate needs some work. It doesn't reliably launch the player into the ceiling portal and its very annoying. You can see my map https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=817200788 to see how its done properly.

Nice puzzle! I got the OCC: https://youtu.be/febBpCXrE64
Almisuifre 14 Apr, 2017 @ 5:58am
(I meant the lower surface facing the button)
Almisuifre 13 Apr, 2017 @ 1:42am
I imagine the intended move now, it's cleaner than what I did, so I also suggest to remove the upper surface facing the button (making sure player is still able to aim the surface from below).

Don't blame yourself, it's quite common to have some fixes to do after release. Being the puzzlemaker and the beta-testers is a tough work (but we all love it..!) Especially with conversion gel...for now I never tried myself at mapping with.
In regards of your publications, you seem to be more experienced than what you say ;)
Fumbly Bumbly  [author] 12 Apr, 2017 @ 8:04pm
@Almisuifre Thank you. I'm surprised that people liked this one, because its development feels really messy and I feel like I've neglected and rushed through really important fixes. I think due to my lack of experience with conversion gel I got a bit ahead of myself and thought I'd fixed every possible exploit when in reality I've needed to change this 7 times. That said, I don't excuse my mistakes for lack of experience or knowledge. Anyway, you didn't need to do bridge climbing at the end, but it's fine that you did since that last part is more of a wrap-up section of the puzzle rather than its core. I'll remove those walls, but it might have to wait until my next map is published, since I'm currently working on it and I don't want to change Beemod's settings again just yet.
Almisuifre 11 Apr, 2017 @ 2:35pm
Good job ! As quat said, you did a great job with some elements hard to implement neatly.
The last task involving bridge climbing is less elegant than the rest of the puzzle imo, but it's a great map anyway.

The two upper surfaces in the cube dropper's area allow a shortcut which bypasses the plate.
Removing them will prevent it while keeping the design intact.
Fumbly Bumbly  [author] 8 Apr, 2017 @ 5:49am
@RectorRocks Hey, thanks for playing! Yes, you were supposed to launch yourself into the ceiling portal. I think no matter what I do to fix it, it will always remain finicky. My best advice is to launch yourself by walking onto the faith plate directly from the back, for me it works every time that way .
Rector 8 Apr, 2017 @ 5:45am
Was I supposed to fling into the (painted) ceiling from the faith plate? It was a little finicky to do since it only happened like once every eight times and requires you to jump on a precise area to hit it.
kimist108 6 Apr, 2017 @ 8:53pm
Nice challenge!
quat 4 Apr, 2017 @ 12:45pm
Awesome map!!!!! Favorited ;)

Bonus points for using track platforms and conversion gel properly, two elements I haven't figured out how to use well ever
Fumbly Bumbly  [author] 3 Apr, 2017 @ 7:49am
@Veckman Thank you for your feedback and the video. Indeed, it is difficult to make a conversion gel map. That exploit should hopefully be fixed... hopefully .
Veckman 3 Apr, 2017 @ 6:31am
Challenging map, excellent!

But it's really hard to create a chamber using the conversion gel.

I agree with dire.fcs. I just cheated after I confirmed I could get the gel there just to save time.

Loved this map. I think you did a really good job on the map design and the restriction of gel.

@jandlml Thank you!
@dire.fcs Thanks for your feedback. The puzzle should be more stable and less tedious now :)
jandlml 29 Mar, 2017 @ 5:50pm
i really liked thiis map, nice set up.
dire.fcs 27 Mar, 2017 @ 10:05pm
Another good map,; i think you could use the bomb blob instead of drop, so we don't have to repeat the exit part ceiling too many times. Also you must be aware the conversion gel and portal refling can give some unintended solutions.
Fumbly Bumbly  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 8:39pm
@jgaultney Oh, ok. I'll experiment a bit more with changing this map to see what my best options are. Thank you so much for your feedback :)
jgaultney 27 Mar, 2017 @ 8:17pm
No nudging, just some fast re-portaling on the floor panel and wall panel just beneath the exit.
Fumbly Bumbly  [author] 27 Mar, 2017 @ 7:51pm
@jgaultney I assume that you spread the gel that way by nudging it, since gel bombs can interact with the player in that way. I've changed the bombs to drips, so hopefully it's fixed now. The only major annoyance now is that the final step is a tad too tedious. I might try and find other ways I can get around this (maybe I'll just try a gel stream instead), but for now this should hopefully suffice :)
