I used quick portal shoot before,and then I realized it was not necessary,cool fling I enjoyed that.Like nobody said,the difficulty is about 4~4.5,but still an impressive map in 2012.:steamthumbsup:

Very cool map! By modern standards this is far from 8/10 difficulty, but it's very cleverly set up and I enjoyed executing it as well. Big thumbs up.

... this took a few goes (and quick save/load saved!) to get right - spoiler video of end move: :) and getting the gel in the right places before that takes a bit of time, but the puzzle itself is brilliant - already gave thumbs up, now also added to favourites, even though it is a bit "meticulous" :D

Nice chamber, but I had to start all over twice cause I felt into the toxic water. That's how I learned that I can save with F6, but maybe those who still don't know how to save will refuse to try the actual solution again, so maybe you could do something about that... Anyway, 5 star chamber :)

Tried hard; has to watch Mevious' playthrough to expose the one small piece of the puzzle I was missing :P

Very nice use of gels. I did notice you can skip the orange gel the first fling over to the cube and square button area using the floor the blue gel lands on as a great place to fling from jumping on the gel. Second fling over there requires knowing how blue gel works (reflects incoming velocity and preserving last fell from height). I would have named this chamber "return" or "rebound", something word that describes "giving something back quickly".

This one was tough. Even when I thought I had the answer, there was always an element I needed to factor in that I hadn't thought of yet. What did me in more often than not was that final leap that Mevious seemed to pull off so well. I would either miss the portal, or the portal wasn't high enough and I would fall into the water upon rebound, forcing me to restart the stage. I won't downvote this puzzle, because it is very smartly built. But it was aggravating too.

esmo, thanks, that second one was just a slip of the memory, I meant to prevent it. Not too worried about cheats but I guess I may as well move the light. Do you think you've got the designed solution, btw? It's slightly more obvious with the last edit.

My solution is much more hard now with the new layout, don't bother it's a nice solution, also nice that you get the right speed right away now from the red gel, I was getting too much speed for the jump earlier

save you some map edits there's this one aswell, delays things so you can go down and funnel the bounce gel to the ledge , again, I know it's not intended as you said no blue gel near ledge. cheers

a bit out-of-game but it's quite well known; fall through, bounce on to the observation window , then jump to the exit from there. cheers

okay, I admit the last break was a bit ninja, back to a simple break (maybe??), here The small amount of blue gel in the corner is enough to bounce the player back at a 45 degree angle into the path of the tractor. Using the speed gel and 2 bounce gel surfaces to multipy momentum makes this possible. cheers

As always the actual solution will not seem messy. Execution is straightforward and you'll probably know that it's right.

To take a positive from this, at least we're at the stage where the chamber breakings are a lot trickier than the actual solution! That means it's a good puzzle. :P

Thank you once again, I will try to patch that tomorrow. If you feel like trying in the meantime: the blue gel funnel is in that odd position because you're not supposed to be allowed to get it near the tractor button ledge.

okay, you're starting to make this hard now, here and here , ignore the speed gel, that's just me mixing the portals up.

I used the tractor beam for this. painted floor under ceiling with bounce gel. created portal in ceiling and fell through, while falling created portal in 'bounce gel button area' and bounced off floor back through to portal now in 'bounce gel button area'. fell from ceiling again with floor bounce resetting ceiling portal closer to tractor each time until portal was over tractor. dropped blue gel into tractor and dropped down to portal the tractor through.

this is a little extreme so unlike the others I don't think most people will do this, unless of course if it is the intended?

AFAIK the exploit involved arranging the portals so that the blue gel fell back into the angled portal under the dropper and then out of the other portal on the wall at an angle, right..?

Maybe the update didn't work, I was sure I'd fixed that by making it so that you can no longer arrange portals so that the gel falls back into the portal under the dropper.

Thanks once again, I should really have more thoroughly tested that part. I just spent an hour or so on it trying ridiculously tricky things... ended up having to just bazooka the problem by banning gel from the front of the exit. :P

I can't for the life of me think of any more ways to break it, but I'm sure I'm wrong.

okay, not clever but aquire cube through speed gel + bounce gel combo, place cube on bounce gel button and portal bounce gel through to ceiling, wall and 'tractor' portalable surfaces to get bounce gel line on floor in main room, recover cube from bounce gel button, fall through ceiling and do 2/3 bounces to exit, recover cube using exits portalable surface if you didn't bring it with you. cheers

Okay, fixed. That was relatively easy. I bet there's some chamber-breaking exploit lurking around somewhere though, it took so much meddling around to get it to work properly. :P
