I am really digging this sequel to Thomas Was Alone. Less of the platforming nonsense and more shooting!

I am bit confused as to what prompted Thomas to become so violent, but I am sure as I play further into the game his motives will become clear. I suspect it has something to do with those pesky yellow blocks...those filthy, nasty, multiplying bastards. Who are they to rob me of my health?!

8/10 blocks, would recommend.

There are plenty of dating simulators on Steam, like Hunie Pop and the endless dearth of Sakura titles, but not many cater to a female audience. I applaud the developers for taking a brave step and being one of the few hosts of an otome game on Steam. That said, Blood Code is...okay. It's not bad, but it certainly has it's flaws.

The characters have likeable personalities and can be empathized with. Leia has several plot developments in her character, and it's interesting to see how she evolves throughout the school year. Most of the supporting characters have interesting developments as well. Also as a plus, the art for Blood Code is beautiful. There are few visual novels on Steam that can compare with the character art in Blood Code. Top notch!

However, while the individual characters have good development, the same cannot be said for the incoherent side plot of warring factions. The Vampire faction is angry at the Church faction for past transgressions, but it's not clear always what exactly the Church did to make the Vampires so angry, and why it's relevant to the main plot. This may or may not be due to the Chinese-to-English translation. It may just be bad writing. Either way, the game could do without the side story.

I know Blood Code is a visual novel, but just because it is a visual novel does not excuse its game mechanics from being underdeveloped. The magic system is weak. I understand that taking magic classes in certain magic types increases your chance of attracting certain male characters, but that's all it does. The mechanics would be more engaging if learning magic skills enabled different dialogue responses or actions with characters.

The verdict: Buy if you enjoy otome games and men with pretty hair.

If you've spent the bulk of your Steam gift card or wallet on AAA games and have a little left over, Montaro is a regretless, fun use of that extra 99 cents. This game is a well-executed infinite runner with adorable graphics and dank memes. Play as the famous Shiba Inu DOGE and collect coins to upgrade DOGE into other memes.

Even if infinite runners aren't your cup of tea, the game is at least worth playing for the trading card unlocks. You will most likely get a Doge icon to use in Steam chat, which in my opinion, is pretty neat.

Kill zombies! Laugh at questionable phrasing! Improve your typing skills!

Perhaps your boss is breathing down the back of your neck at work because you type as slow as a retarded, greasy-fingered Tyrannosaurus Rex. Maybe you want to improve your WPM for that job you're applying for. Or, you're just a gamer who wants to have fun. This is the game is for you.

It's pretty simple: type the words attached to zombies to explode them into a flushy flash of fesh. Fail to type your words fast enough, and you become the zombie's Monday Meatball Marinara. Despite the simplicity it's a fun mechanic, and it feels awesome to burst bodies like bloody balloons by rattling off random phrases on the keyboard.

There's some sort of plot in this game, and apparently the two dudebros have some stake in the matter. The humor from this game doesn't really come from the characters or story though. The funniest thing about TotDO are the extremely random, oddly paired phrases that you type to kill zombies. In my playthrough I experienced phrases such as "finger lickin good", "sexual carnivore" and "insane clown playground", and that's just using the default word library.

I would not recommend this game to anyone who is squeamish about violence. It dials everything up to 10, and then some. I was annoyed at the pathetic portrayal of the females in the game, but all the characters in the game are morons so it's not too offensive.

Overall, it's a fun game to kill zombies and improve your typying skills. 7/10, would recommend.

It's a decent game, but not worth $4.99. If you can, pick up Hieroglyphika when it's on sale. Why? The mechanic of using pictograms in place of text evokes mystery and discovery not very common in modern games. It's neat to pick up equipment and discover the abilities of each item.

Despite this clever mechanic, insanely punishing difficulty and long AI turns will have you pulling out your hair. I consider myself a "hardcore" roguelike player, but I rarely make it past the fourth level. The lack of moving animations is a letdown, but I am more disappointed there isn't more background music in the game. Enemy turns take forever, so you're stuck listening to the same three tracks on repeat.

TL:DR Buy it when it's on sale. There are some fun mechanics, but infuriatingly long turns and insane difficulty. Needs more music.

I got this game because I received an 80% coupon for Endorlight after completing a badge for Paper's Please. That being said, I want my 70 cents back.

Endorlight hardly qualifies as a game-it's more like an unfinished student project. The logo looks slick, as does the main menu screen, but the pixel art lacks spirit and uniqueness. The gameplay is laughable. The exit for the next level is nearly in the same location every time. The whip weapon doesn't work. There are jewels and chests to oepn, but what purpose do they serve other than scoring points? Am I supposed to score points? Can I use these points to buy upgrades for my crappy, non-functional weapons?

I can see this game being fun with more work- but the developers need to tie up loose mechanics and give the players incentive to progress through levels.

The trailer does a good job advertising this game like it's a darker version of Link to the Past. It had me so hyped I decided to put five dollars into my Steam Wallet to buy it. Big mistake. Once I got the game, I quickly realized that the gameplay doesn't live up to the polish of the trailer, and only resembles a Zelda game on the surface. While the world of bit Dungeon II looks visually interesting, there is little to no story or exposition to explain what's going on. I'm supposed to transport a dead woman's soul apparently...but why should I care about her? Who desecrated her grave? Where the heck am I supposed to be going? It's a shame there's not more background about the world of Bit Dungeon II, because I really would have liked to know more about the world.

Mechanically speaking, there are an abundance of collision issues with the game, especially with walls and destructible objects. Colliding with these objects makes the character sputter back and forth, to the point that you'll be pushed into the room you were previously in. The depth of the battle mechanics is woefully shallow. Point. Click. Kill. That's all there is to it. The puzzles are disappointing too...they consist of moving rocks over switches, and that's about it. I was hoping to acquire different tools to solve different types of puzzle challenges, but the game emphasizes action over puzzle solving.

TL:DR Bit Dungeon II looks awesome in the trailers, but doesn't live up to the hype.

Suits: A Business RPG is one of those games you pick up for under a dollar not expecting much. Upon playing it for about fifteen minutes however, you realize you've come across a gem. Suits: A Business RPG is a hilarious take on white collar culture in the form of a Final Fantasy 4-esque RPG. You'll do battle with demented coffee cups, evil corporate bosses (putting a whole new meaning on “boss fight”), and other business-related denizens using staplers and other office supplies in a turn-based battle system. The game is divided into five main areas, and can be completed in about 2 to 2.5 hours if you stick to completing the main quest. Finding all the secret areas and cleverly hidden jokes within the game however, may take you upwards of 3 to 4 hours, due to the sheer number of Easter eggs included. The developers could have charged more for the game, and I would still feel like I got my money's worth, on merit of the game's humor, story, and Easter eggs.
