Track illegitimate offspring through history.

Do you have a nagging feeling that one night didn't end when you climbed out the window of the Queen's bedroom chamber in the early hours of the morning when the King came bounding up the inner stairway with his house guard?

Wild Oats will keep a record of your illegitimate progeny i.e. bastards through history. You'll be able to go back and check on them even after the father died in a bloody battle in the back end of Scandinavia, or was assassinated by their Jester.

Wild Oats will keep track of any illegitimate progeny your father or his father or his father spawned after they abdicated or were deposed by you.

Wild Oats keeps a register of illegitimate children which you can access for each character even after they died.

See at a glance the illegitimate offspring name, age, health, gender, sexuality, relationship to you, legitimacy status, marital status, congenital and inheritable traits.

Now allows for existing bastards to be added to a register for cases where a bastard register is added to a character later in life after they became important enough to want to track their bastards.

Now allows a character and their register to be removed from the registry perhaps because they are no longer important enough to want to track their bastards.


NEW - UI Overhaul
The UI has been overhauled to align better with the CK3 look and feel.

Also uses the icons from the Clearer Marriage Icons mod by Seraaron.


NEW - Memories
Bastards now have memories about their life as a bastard and the way they are treated, which change if the long awaited day arrives when their real father sends an agent from the Crusaders Adoption Agency to claim them as their son/daughter.

I will not answer requests for instructions. Unfortunately I speak one language so there are no foreign localizations, though if I get the time I may run the short localizations through a translator for less than perfect translations to other popular languages.

The mod does not work for female characters as I feel they always have a direct link to their children, regardless of legitimacy, so you can always access them through normal use of the dynasty tree. However I never play female characters long enough to know, and have a nagging feeling there might be an edge case where this is not true if they refuse to acknowledge the child at birth, so drop me a line if you think this is an issue.


This mod has great synergy with my Crusaders Adoption Agency mod, whereby combining the two mods you can adopt bastards to their dead parents, long after their real parent's death, which is perfect if you want to grab a strong independent ruler into your dynasty for that extra renown, or flip them after marrying your child to them so your grandchild can inherit a kingdom.


Compatibility
Should be compatible with almost every other mod.
You should be able to safely remove this mod without messing up your save game. It will leave data behind but should be ignored by the game, though of course the game would complain that you have a missing mod which you can safely ignore and continue. Any missing mod warning should disappear on your next save.
