High Contrast Border Colors (All Campaigns) [6.2]

Description
Hello there! This mod significantly increases the contrast of ALL border colors and removes the horizontal gradient (solid colors only) and modifies the overall size and visibility to boot.

There are other mods that do something similar, but I wanted to make sure it worked well with the color blind modes available, as well as make the difference between normal (clashing) and internal (shared) borders more distinct.

Some of the others also didn't apply to every campaign map! This mod affects every single one (even Realm of Chaos pre-2.0 saves). Note: due to the way the border colors are applied, every time Creative Assembly adds a new campaign map (or even a variant of a campaign map, like the new regions for Realm of Chaos) this mod will need to be updated.

See screenshots for visible comparisons in-game!

More Details:
  • Internal Border widths are exactly 1/2 the size of standard borders (see screenshots)
  • Works well with ALL colorblind modes/color profiles (see screenshots)
  • Border spacing slightly adjusted (see screenshots)

COMPATIBILITY:
This mod should be relatively compatible, as it makes the bare minimum necessary changes to modify the way the campaign borders are displayed.

Fully existing save game compatible! Feel free to add & remove at will with no adverse effects on your campaigns!

For those in the know, it should work with all of these campaign maps:
  • wh3_main_prologue_map (Tutorial)
  • wh3_main_chaos_map_1 (Realm of Chaos version 1)
  • wh3_main_chaos_map_2 (Realm of Chaos version 2)
  • wh3_main_chaos_map_3 (Realm of Chaos version 3)
  • wh3_main_chaos_map_4 (Realm of Chaos version 4 - latest)
  • wh3_main_combi_map_1 (Immortal Empires version 1)
  • wh3_main_combi_map_2 (Immortal Empires version 2)
  • wh3_main_combi_map_3 (Immortal Empires version 3)
  • wh3_main_combi_map_4 (Immortal Empires version 4 - latest)
  • cr_combi_expanded_map_1 (Immortal Empires Expanded Campaign Mod)
  • cr_oldworld_map_1 (The Old World Campaign Mod)

Note: load this mod *before* the custom campaigns in your mod load order!

Updated for 6.1 - no changes were needed, just forcing the Mod Manager to change from the warning icon to the green checkmark icon instead

@madcow002000 I'm not 100% sure I understand what you mean; I just tested this one out myself after downloading the 6.1 update and it seems to be OK.

Can you give me more details? Which map did you try it out on? (Realm of Chaos or Immortal Empires, etc.)

I like this mod but the new 6.1 update doesn't let me run anything, even if it's showing green and updated. Can anyone confirm it works? Because it doesn't for me.

As of 6.1 it's still working perfectly. Finally I don't have to squint and lean closer to my monitor to see the borders

Of course - happy to help! I had to find out about that (ages ago now) somehow too, lol
(mostly through "why is everyone saying update plz" during a major update?) :er_sweat:

Oh that's marvellous, I never realised it could "fake" the update without actually pushing a new version. As yes, after checking in the official mod manager, there is no yellow triangle, neat! Thank you for engaging on the topic!

Heya - affirm!

It doesn't trigger Change Notes in the Workshop since the hash/delta is the same, but there appears to be a flag somewhere that causes the Yellow Warning symbol to show up in CA's launcher for Mods instead of a Green Checkmark :WHII_Dominate:

Happens every time during a major patch as it forces modders to check that their mod still works (but then everyone says "update plz" in the comments, of course) It's been a while since I've checked though, does this mod have a Yellow Warning symbol or a Green Checkmark in the Mod Manager? (I only see a Blue Folder for uploads)

Hello, just so you know, you didnt actually push an update on November 4th. If you used RFPM you actually have to save the mod again, if you just push update it does nothing as the file hasn't changed.
