Description
Plan your last will to leave your titles to your preferred heirs.

Includes a abdicate mechanism to pass your realm to your heirs, while you continue as your current character as a vassal to your heir or independent or a landless adventurer.

Become a Landless Adventurer on abdication
Requires Roads to Power DLC
You can become a landless adventurer when you abdicate.

Gain independence on abdication
As of version 1.2.0 you can now choose to either remain a vassal of your heir when you abdicate, or gain independence to forge a new realm.

ABOUT
Allows you to plan how to carve up your realm on abdication or death, leaving all titles to your primary heir or leaving selected titles to multiple heirs of your family, dynasty, bastards, lovers, friends, or anyone you choose to.

Do you ever get tired of running your uber empire, longing to play as a simple lowly Count or Duke again?
Well now you can, simply setup a Last Will to retain selected titles from your realm and then abdicate to your heirs. Leave the empire to them while you sit in a quiet County or Duchy in the realm doing whatever you please as you watch them gamble away the empire you worked so hard to create!

Do you want to leave some land to your beloved soulmate, even though they never left their spouse for you?
Do you want to leave some land to their child, the one their stupid spouse never knew was yours?
Well now you can, even though your children won't like it, but you'll be in the ground so do you really care.

HOWTO
Last Will Succession uses a combination of realm laws and title elective laws to bequeath land to your preferred heirs.

It also uses a bespoke abdication title grant mechanism to allow you to retain titles after abdication, which includes both the Last Will Succession mod's own abdication command and being deposed by CK3 Casus belli.

Your primary heir will inherit all your titles as per Primogeniture.

Your heir will not inherit the LW law, they will have to enact that themselves each time they inherit the realm.

You cannot bequeath your primary title or it's hierarchy to any heir.

Last Will Succession is fully integrated in to the realm window, correctly showing the number of titles lost on succession and who they will be inherited by.

See the screenshots for details how to use all of the components.

NOTE
The title history will say the preferred heirs inherited their titles via abdication instead of the death of the previous holder, and unfortunately due to the lack of title history manipulation facilities in script there is nothing I can do about that.

COMPATIBILITY
Not compatible with any mod that modifies 00_succession_laws.txt or window_my_realm.gui

SAVE GAME safe to add to existing games, and if removed will revert to default vanilla laws but will not remove any variables from your character, title, etc but they should not be a problem. Also will not remove any claims to titles given under last will, but they are weak claims so will not be inherited by their holders children.

I will not write any compatches for other mods, so please don't ask.

That's possible, I meant to do a test on admin because there's a couple of things that suggest it's a no no but I never got around to doing so due to constant game updates and rl commitments.

I don't play admin, it just doesn't feel good to me, so I'll have to find time to test it and if my previous suspicions prove true then I'll have to disable the last will aspects as an option for admin.

I discovered that my administrative empire cannot use the Last Will Succession. This is awful!

When you abdicate the game handles succession just the same as if you were deposed in a tyranny war or died, so any succession law in place is enacted, regardless whether it is a vanilla law or the realm/title laws from this mod.

As far as being a cheat mod, these are the main features of the mod
1) It allows you to abdicate
2) It allows you to become an adventurer when you abdicate
3) It allows you to become a vassal of your heir when you abdicate
4) It allows your old character to become your vassal when you play your heir after abdication
5) It allows you to play as an independent ruler after you abdicate to your heir
6) It allows you to assign specific titles to specific character when you die/abdicate
7) Using mod's realm law without any of the mod's title laws and selected abdication titles is effectively primo

You have to decide for yourself which if any of those features is cheating and if you want to use any off them.

Does this respect the current succession laws when you choose heirs and such? Really enjoy the thought of abdicating and becoming a vassal, but is it also basically a cheat mod?

Ok, thanks for responding.

I haven't had a chance to look at it yet. The functionality in the mod should be fine, I've not heard of any major script issues from other modders that should affect it but there is always a chance the gui side might have an issue.

I will be updating all my mods over the week-end but no specific order in mind so the best I can say is that it will happen over the next couple of days.

Does this need an update?
