Description
DooM 1 E1M2: Nuclear Plant, with actual DooM level and textures.
New: CHOOSE YOUR DIFFICULTY (Can I Play Daddy-Nightmare)
Optionally supports Razer Hydra and SIXENSE DLC*.

This is level 2.
Level 1: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=73647515
Wolfenstein 3D: http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=77625885

This is no test chamber. You're on Phobos, and must fight your way past hell's army of Zombie Turrets, armed only with a portal gun. Based on iD software's DooM (shareware version), featuring the actual level, textures, music and sounds.

Mostly advanced turret combat. You need to plan carefully how to get past them. There are a few checkpoints so you don't always have to start at the beginning*. The exit room shows a scoreboard that counts kills and secrets.

There's also an optional difficult puzzle: Your secondary objectives are to find and use all three gels to be able to paint distant parts of the level. And to check what happened to the other aperture test subjects we sent through, and rescue anyone that's still alive.

Timoteeei is the first person to complete it (on Ultra Violence) and show that he got all 3 gels! So try his puzzles: http://cs2bus.com/profiles/76561198041374963/myworkshopfiles?appid=620

Remember: Portals can't be placed on metal, computer screens, switches, rough surfaces, black and dark brown metalic surfaces, liquids, or walls which aren't high enough for a portal to fit.

Update: 6 difficulty levels! Can I Play Daddy (from Wolfenstein) has only 14 turrets, bright and colour-coded lighting in the maze, non-lethal barrels, and no dead bodies. I'm Too Young To Die has 20 turrets, non-lethal barrels, and no dead bodies. Not Too Rough has the same 20 turrets but normal barrels, and bodies. Hurt Me Plenty has 41 turrets. Ultra Violence has all 79 turrets. In Nightmare turrets come back to life after 30 seconds, barrels are super deadly, cheats are disabled (sort of), and there are all 79 turrets.
I also fixed the music, lighting, some of the ceilings to match the original, added the soul-sphere sound effect, and made it more obvious when you get the key.

Bugs: *The (Sixense DLC) scaling cube may sometimes become immovable when you die and restart from a checkpoint. That's a bug with the original Sixense DLC levels too, not just this one. Restart the level if that happens and you still want that cube.
Sometimes a reflection cube doesn't fall when a lift goes down under it while hanging from a laser. You can either activate the lift first, then drop the cube onto it, or activate the laser after you activate the lift. This is a bug by Valve.
Switch in pool of waste to open hidden passage might need to be used again if you die and continue from a checkpoint (not sure).
You may see blue gel splattering outside the map in the first outdoor area. Ignore it, it's a bug (by Valve).
Cheats can't be disabled properly (Valve's fault) on Nightmare. Only no-clipping is theoretically possible to disable completely, and I didn't even do that properly. But I keep turning off sv_cheats... you'll have to use your honour for the rest.

Note! This level, textures, and sounds, come from the free (and open source) shareware game by iD Software. But you can buy the full registered version of the original game on steam here: http://cs2bus.com/steamstore/app/2280/

Wow! Wow! And WOW! I loved this. I had no idea someone could build something like this in Portal. I’ve played over 4,000 hours and this is hands down the BEST level I’ve ever played. Thanks.

i just spent. a Very long time playing this map on the highest difficulty, carefully placing all of the turrets in a couple corners of the first room and also getting all the secrets. wish i recorded it but i did take screenshots of the final results (spoiler warning for some secrets). very fun map and this little pacifist run challenge i set for myself was satisfying. shout out to my doom-obsessed friend, without her help it would have taken me even longer to find the secrets.

Amazing what can be done in this game. Thanks for making a great map with a retro feel.

Kudos for a fine retro map. Also hats off to Timoteeei for completion. I subscribed to him long ago and his "Balls and Cubes" puzzle was awesome. This game platform seems to have endless possibilities. Thanks for the amount of work it must have taken to produce this version. Innovation is a great thing...keep it up! Still my #1 fave is " Interference (HARD)" good luck there. Cheers

I beat Ultra-Violence with no cheats.

The hardest part was finding a way to remove the blue gel from the edgeless cube. The cube stack required for the laser bounce to the portal gel was also a nightmare. Barely enough room to stack it in the sweet spot and meanwhile, the bouncy ball keeps bowling it over... But I finally was able to clean the ball with portal gel so it would stay put in the receptacle and finally get into the orange gel room (which is not counted as a secret BTW).

Killing all 79 turrets was a piece of cake by comparison. Just like the original Doom, a huge waste of time but irresistible fun. A little bit more maneuvering space between the wall and the sweet spot for the cube stack would have been nice. Thanks.

Thumbs up for a great huge effort. Not my favorite style, however.
