Is it intended for the mod to screw over starting locations for Mali, Russia and Canada? Barely any deserts or tundra tiles unless you reroll like 10 times.

Is this compatible with Improved Start Biases? If not, does it do similar things in single player or would I need to disable one and enable the other if I'm switching between SP/MP?

@Emhyr: BBS doesn't change the starting biases. I would advice you to DL BBG (if you haven't already) which would take care of starting terrain type.

Ok, finally figured out what is wrong with BBS, it does not work with Mac, so congratulations, now I understand why we have 2 groups. Windows players (about 2/3 of players) and mac players + people that dislike BBS/G. So thanks for splitting Civ community in two.

Does this mod add bias to Poland towards coast and lake? According to the wiki Poland shouldn't have any starting bias but every single time I re-map I start near coast with a big lake next to me. It's weird because Poland's UB encourages it to go CH but the terrain forces me into harbor.

I'm not sure if anyone else is finding this happening, but we (my friends and I) think there is a problem with how BBS populates the map. Last three occasions; 6 players, small continents map, 5 of us will be placed on one continent and the remaining player will be by themselves with most of the City States. This seems unbalanced. It could be just bad luck but we are too scared to use BBS again, hence why we ask is it happening to others?

@Vanidy / Mr_Esclave: BBS is essentially a solver, trying to place player the best way possible. It could be the case that you are asking to put too many CS / players for the map size. After a while it would go back to the classic Firaxis solver in any case but that could mean several minutes on a larger map size.

Whenever I use this mod my game won't start. It waits on start screen forever. Is it about my pc performance or I am missing another point? Once I disable the BBS mode my game starts as it should be. I don't know what to do.

@BigBossBilly: It does for Legendary. Standard and Balanced would yield the same results

@Dewalian: Correct only the graphics are included as the TM wonders' power are imbalanced so I did not want to implement another layer of comparing each wonder strength vs. player placement.

Hi, the description says that Terra Mirabilis wonders are included in this mod, which is right. But Terra Mirabilis wonder's effect changes doesn't seem to apply in this mod. Is this intentional or not?

@Siniganggang: Several ways.

# You can create a preset once and load the configuration.

# If you play with Multiplayer Helper, the default setting when creating the game would be original Civ6.

It is unfortunately not possible to default a list of wonder: the exclusion variable is an array but the default database is only able to take single value (which translates into all on or all off).

@OneMoTurn: Custom Continent Split makes fault line a magnet for Inca albeit not guaranteed, Custom Mountain Lover is lifting a base game setting that was limiting the number of mountains he could get.
You can disable these simply by overriding the trait in your SQL / XML custom bias file "e.g. DELETE bla blah". Simply put the load order after so it modify the database after BBS.

thanks for the clarification jack... another question if i were to say create a custom spawn bias for Inca, would your 'Custom Contient Split' and 'Custom Mountain Lover' overwrite it? just want to play around with giving him a tier 1 hill and mountain bias and see if i can get some of these bad spawns out...

for your 'StartBiasNegatives' table you are creating, am i correct in assuming that when it says 'Tier 1 = most impactful, Tier 5 = least impactful' that for example:

INSERT OR IGNORE INTO StartBiasNegatives (CivilizationType, FeatureType,Tier)
VALUES
('CIVILIZATION_GAUL','FEATURE_FLOODPLAINS_PLAINS', 1)

That this would make it very unlikely that the gaul would spawn on floodplains?

@S'en: BBS reads whatever biaised are in the database.
For "custom biases" it work the same e.g. if you are using BBG.
If you are editing an XML make sure the load order superseeds the other mods so it doesn t get overriden.

In general I would suggest you to create effectively a very simple mod with your edit rather than changing the base game file.

If I want to change the start bias of some Civs would it conflict with this mod if I changed Civilizations.xml directly?

Or do I need to change the bias via your mod?
