Absolutely a fun map. Required trial and error on my part, but got all worked out. Loved taking out the turrets.
malcomr 11 Aug, 2022 @ 1:17pm
Well, that took a while. Wish I didn't have to repeat the antechamber to the turret room every time I died in the turret room. Otherwise well thought out and enjoyable.
Nobody No-One 3 May, 2021 @ 3:51pm
I agree with Fumbly that the turrets were rather annoying, but overall I enjoyed it. Thumbs up.

:maglike: It was fun to play though I'm not a big fan of gels. But the design of this map is awesome.
SpielSatzFail 7 Jul, 2019 @ 4:09pm
Another visually stunning map I have mixed emotions about.
First: the turrets are annoying and out of place! Agree to Fumbly Bumbly.
The middle part where you have to reach some heights is confusing.
Where and when to (re)use the cubes confuses me even more, e.g. I wanted to use the momentum thing again in the upper room (as I learned before) instead of transporting the cubes via beam.
BUT...
I liked the idea of killing the turrets with blue gel & a maximum amount of momentum :D
Again, as in Variable Reflection, there are several situations asking for quicksave (either because of the hazards or because you don't want to lose progress) and at least ONE possible softlock: I left a cube in the final room and went back down, leaving my portals behind. Since I can't spawn a cube without destroying it and since I need both of them to re-enter the room, I was stuck!

Altogether the ideas behind it and the visuals made me give you a thumbs up anyway :-)

Great puzzle map, but maybe you should lock the funnel control doors untill you spawn the turrets in the last room, otherwise you can just get the gels running and then spawn the turrets.
Fumbly Bumbly 4 Sep, 2017 @ 9:36pm
Very fun and impressive Hammer work! I did find constantly avoiding the turrets' gazes in the last puzzle a bit annoying, but I suppose they would have no reason to be there if they couldn't shoot me. Thumbs up and added to my favourites!

In the second room it is not necessary to go crazy and of course use the noclip. It is not easy but we need to think and find out how to increase the power output of the bounce gel. The same solution that is used at the top level to break down the turrets and reach the exit from the level. Thanks for playing ! :p2cube:
zwan33 30 Nov, 2016 @ 2:33pm
First room: Perfect and a lot of fun. Second room: beginning easy, second part as Wildgoosespeeder wrote, lots of bumping into walls --> had to noclip up to third room. Third room was fun again.
jandlml 7 Apr, 2016 @ 11:58pm
no problem,loved the map
Sleter  [author] 7 Apr, 2016 @ 9:18am
In the first room there is a counter that marks the number of times that activates the laser receiver. It can happen that one of the two receivers being activated accidentally turning off the laser when they are still required to complete the test, but it is a very rare event and despite having consulted expert programmers in Hammer we have not found an effective solution to 100%. I am happy that you still have retested the level and I thank you for the appreciation and for your patience. It 'hard to predict everything that can make a player and prevent the game will break if it happens unexpectedly. In the second room (when controlling from third room) there is another trick to prevent the cube blocked on bridge oriented laser at an incorrect direction. ;-)
jandlml 6 Apr, 2016 @ 8:35pm
what a beautiful map. not sure why i was having the problem at the begining. starting over fixed it.
jandlml 6 Apr, 2016 @ 4:56pm
i really want to play this chamber , ive only just started. i have the first bridge created but when i try to fling the other cube up it flings up,hits the laser drops through the portal and then the laser turns off. what am i doing wrong. the laser is needed to create the next bridge?
Sleter  [author] 16 Mar, 2016 @ 1:38pm
Many thanks for the appreciation.
I do not speak English very well but if you need help with Hammer and custom textures we can communicate in chat. :p2cube:

Great puzzle! I am kind of fresh at Hammer and can really appreciate the work you did. It must have taken a long time to build this. Thanks for your hard work!
KAKTUS ‡SvK‡ 13 Mar, 2016 @ 9:43am
This map is one of the best I have ever played! :steamhappy: Thanks to the creator.
dire.fcs 12 Mar, 2016 @ 7:05pm
Wow man, what a piece of art in this custom hammer map!
ChrisLP 28 Nov, 2015 @ 10:01am
Some people might not understand the greatness of this chamber, like those holes on the roof which you interect with later (not to spoil anything), OMG!!! Well, i know you can't change/edit this perfect masterpiece or maybe you do, but i demand you to add me :)) coz i wanted to tell you on private somethings i've noticed in the comments i removed. People don't understand that only because someone is saying something is wrong, everything else would suck, i swear this is the coolest thing i've played in Portal since i play Portal around 5 years ago!! Portal 3 should look exactly like this!!! Congratulations, Sleter!!!
ChrisLP 28 Nov, 2015 @ 9:57am
OH MY GOD!!!! I WON'T EVEN FINISH IT!!! I'M IN THE THIRD ROOM AND I'M REMOVING ALL PREVIOUS COMMENTS, THIS IS THE BEST MAP EVER AND NOONE CAN TELL ME DIFFERENT, FUCK EVERYONE THAT DOESN'T THINK THE SAME WAY I DO!!!! IF ONE WAY I REMOVE MOST OF MY SUBED CHAMBERS, THIS WILL BE THE LAST ONE ON MY FAVOURITES!!!! PLEASE NEVER DELETE THIS UNTIL I DIE :))) PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
D3M!5 22 Aug, 2015 @ 12:52am

Amico mio posso dirtelo: sei un fottutissimo genio!!! ;)
SDP 21 Jun, 2014 @ 11:14am
bella mappa
The Sojourner 23 Mar, 2014 @ 12:09am
Also, credit where it's due: who did what with regards to the custom materials?
The Sojourner 23 Mar, 2014 @ 12:05am
You've done an astounding job again; nice to see you've kept the super-square super-neat clean theme....
AceHeavenX 12 Mar, 2014 @ 11:20am
hope to see a next one =)
AceHeavenX 12 Mar, 2014 @ 11:20am
Exactly, very good map, quit difficult, but fuckin beautiful landscapes.
LPChip 18 Feb, 2014 @ 2:34pm
Interesting and good looking map. I'd say difficulty is around 5 or 6 out of 10, which in my books is a Medium. There were a few things that didn't feld like working, and after a chat told me you are fixing it.

Here's my blindrun recording: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsUunk7E9Gg
Peppigno 18 Feb, 2014 @ 12:50pm
It's a good, tricky map. Not much difficulty but you must use your brain :beatmeat:
Killum 10 Feb, 2014 @ 8:20pm
Great map! Took a while due to some BSOD (hardware problem, not software). Never got stuck for long, had to think but never stumped. The freshness of the elements and graphics made it captivating, didn't mind spending time on it. I’ve seen MANY hammer maps that look pretty where the “Puzzle” factor is poor. To me, good looking maps don’t rate good unless the “Puzzle” factor is equally as good. This has both as well as NEW elements never seen before.

Great job, hope to see more like this!
Sleter  [author] 9 Feb, 2014 @ 3:05am
@Haggis, thanks for your comment.
The map has been tested by friends and experts mapper.
As written in the description are not required skill special reflexes but only good observation and logical reasoning.
Haggis 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:33pm
Totally disagree with the comments below. This is a fantasticaly made map which has obviously been tested rigorously to make sure the player was never trapped. While playing the map, there were a couple of times i thought i was stuck, but i allways figured out how to get out of the situation i was in. Very well designed, thorougly enjoyed figuring out this map
ARI BONGWATER 5 Feb, 2014 @ 9:49pm
Really meticulously designed and well-made, but pretty much impossible to solve. There's no directionality.
wildgoosespeeder 5 Feb, 2014 @ 4:39pm
*not reflexes or confusing layouts.

I hope this feedback helps.
wildgoosespeeder 5 Feb, 2014 @ 4:38pm
[...continued]

Also if you don't carry cubes from the first area to the second area, trapped, or at least I can't identify a way back to get the cubes. The flying around in the second room to get to the third level, I kept slamming into walls instead of flying through portals in a certain sequence. I just gave up and noclipped to the next area.

At the end, I felt like pulling my hair out.
wildgoosespeeder 5 Feb, 2014 @ 4:38pm
DISCLAIMER:
Read my profile before reading the rest of my comment!

It is very clear that you know how to use Hammer and use it very well to create the map. Playing the map is a different story with a level of frustration and confusion to make it difficult. This is the wrong way to make something difficult. In puzzle games, challenge should be in the mind of the player when creating a map, not reflexes. Throughout each area, the visuals were very confusing what to do.

outstanding map!
Predator 4 Feb, 2014 @ 10:52am
I must admit that this scenario was a little difficult at first, but after I managed to pass the various rooms and get to the end.
The secret is to use all the tools that are available, thinking creatively :)
I highly recommend it
ShadsterWolf 3 Feb, 2014 @ 1:24pm
nvm, i realized that I had to "incraese power" on the gel to burst speed on it, didn't think of that... lol. But in the second floor, can you please make those single panels up top double? It's really annoying getting stuck or when you're slightly disaligned.
Mr. Anesius 3 Feb, 2014 @ 8:28am
Mi è piaciuta tantissimo la parte del gel, fantastica!

THAT FUNEL ROOM IS AAWESOOME!!!
THAT SKYBOX IS AAAWESOOOOOME!
in the turret room I killed the turrets on one of the sides and then I wanted to fling myself to the other. there I understood that I can't pick up the turrets. well, I said to myself, it seems it isn't ment to go here and interact with these turrets, but I guess it's ok, since the gel-covering-and-blowing-up animation was quite impressive. but what to do now? I'm surrounded by water. it's a good thing I shot a little bit of blue gel here so I can jump over the it. ok.1...2...3...jump! - oh nononono the ceiling's too loooowwww!!!...I died...I hope the game sved me somewhere closer to--- WHAAAAT?? I have to play that funel thing again??? oh well, I'll finish the level some other time...
Nalkahn 2 Feb, 2014 @ 8:50am
Very nice map :)
presto668 1 Feb, 2014 @ 2:25pm
No idea what to do in the turret room. :( Also, if you go back to the really high area from the turret room, you can no longer put the cubes back in place. Seems like the light bridges are still there even though they're not active.
HMW 1 Feb, 2014 @ 2:05pm
This was fun! And very nice looking.
I'm posting some bugs / comments in the TWP thread.
Hhhologram 1 Feb, 2014 @ 10:48am
Beautiful map! it was easy but not too easy. I really liked the custom content along with the moving walls and the deadly fizzlers. I also liked that the cubes stay in line inside the portal loop because it would be rather frustating to retry over and over again. It had a great look and was overall understandable and not confusing. Great work! :p2aperture:

@Unowninator, thanks for reporting.
I increased time of cube dropper open.

Thanks to all for the comments :-)

Turns out it did drop, but got stuck inside the thing.
Unowninator 31 Jan, 2014 @ 11:00pm
I got blue gel on a cube & then it got vaporized, but a new cube hasn't dropped from the dispensor.
