@cybrxkhan nothing i could find, i tried changing a lot of things, the crash happened even when making my character kill himself and i kept playing with diferents characters, at the same ingame day it would crash

@cybrxkhan Hey, love the work you do on this mod! amazing to see like, 40 glagillion small dlc flavor packs in one. one suggestion id like to ask you to add for the faiths and such is a sikhism family. fitting into the eastern family with some special tenets and stuff, and historical doctrines with a few different faiths to divide it a little more. maybe to put a cherry ontop to the flavor of pamir? i understand sikhism was outside the time frame of the game, but it was right after, and i think creating a cool alt history event chain, leading up to one final decision, could be cool. Good luck on your next updates!

@东宫门里伏金剑 Thanks for the heads up. I'm not too familiar with what Harem Politics does, can you clarify which trigger you're referring to in particular? Is there a reason why the other mod is using or modifying RICE code?

@ZoiberNomas At a glance doesn't seem like there should be any conflict in terms of mods, other than you seem to be missing the MHG and RICE compatch. However CTDs can be notoriously tricky to diagnose even in vanilla but especially with a large mod list with several mods doing a lot of things, since there's a lot of stuff going on. Are there any recurring patterns to the crashing, like if it happens when you do a certain activity, or when a certain war is declared by you or an AI, etc., that seems to be reproducible? If there is that might make it easier to narrow down what could be going on.

Hey, i've had a crash 80 years into the game and im not sure what caused it, this modlist shouldnt cause any problems with RICE right?

It seems to be incompatible with Harem Politics, where the RICE trigger will always trigger before Harem Politics, whatever its order.

@Mr. Bones: Yes, even PI devs have acknowledged it's a bit of a mysterious issue. Researchers/modders I corresponded with, who know the region's history better, recommended RICE's current setup as a preferable placeholder until I have time to refine the region better at some point. The Brahui do still exist, however, as RICE has some unique flavor concerning them such as events to spawn them as courtiers in certain counties.

@BreadDaddyLenin Have you brought this up to the Rajas of Asia folks? I think that might be something with their loc files then that aren't being read correctly when running with RICE, assuming your mods did update properly.

@cybrxkhan back again, and yeah, it looks like the Filipino titles are broken. playing with ROA below RICE and no other mods, booted into 1066 Maynila as a Tagalog.. chieftains instead of lakans. no filipino tiles anywhere it seems.

Some of the naval tiles are also missing their LOC. west philippine sea is sea_cham

Also, everyone is naked, so without any comp patches for extra clothing we are booty butt naked which isnt accurate either lol. but thats not a bug, just ROI

@cybrxkhan I did have ROA below RICE, but it was played with a modset that i previously had working before ROA became outdated. I will test with only the 2 mods to see how that goes. sorry i saw this so late.

@Leqwan Thanks for checking again, and no worries! Not sure why it's not getting Devoted Horsemanship but I just tested and have been able to replicate it. Made a note to look into that in the future. Might just be something with the logic of it.

The White huns with fallen eagle now has White huns tradition but not devoted horsemanship tradition but thats ok ill just save enough prestige to get it until the next update. also suggestion with fallen eagle give Ferghanan culture people of the silk road and Xionites white hun tradition as well if you added that tradition to hephtalites on purpose that is.

Hello everyone, just released another small hotfix for the recent version of RICE, with some other tweaks and additions thrown in (like Joachim of Fiore as a courtier in 1178). Thanks to everyone for helping me catch some further bugs and issues.

Unless there are any serious gamebreaking bugs, this will likely be the last hotfix/patch until the Nubia Flavor Pack and/or the Coronation DLC, whichever comes first.

@Eiszett I will be busy the rest of the week, so I don't have time to do testing for my active build, but I will take a look into that this weekend if I have time. Your initial comment confused me since any_owned_story doesn't work as a trigger and I thought you were talking about the triggers rather than in the on_accept. However, as mentioned, try a new game on the hotfix version I just uploaded and see if that helps at least for new games.

@cybrxkhan It's the issue I mentioned in my first comment: if there's more than one story active, random_owned_story might not select the right one, while any_owned_story will. Testing with a new save might not be ideal for reproducing this, because they haven't had time to get any other stories going.

@Eiszett I've been unable to reproduce the issue with a chosen candidate for minor expeditions not responding and being selected to lead it, did it multiple times with different rulers on a new save but it still works fine for me. Anyhow, I'm uploading a hotfix shortly later tonight, see if that fixes the issue on your end; if not, try testing it with only RICE and no other mods, not even minor cosmetic mods, running on a new save to see if that helps.

@cybrxkhan I wasn't remembering the text exactly, but it doesn't strongly say that it's exclusive, so having the character interaction available made it seem quite intended.

I can now also say that it doesn't work for small expeditions, either. I clicked the button to choose my own candidate rather than the ones presented, then did the character interaction, and nothing happened.

@Eiszett I've tested in-game and when I did the decision to discover Greenland/the seas west of Iceland, I was able to reproduce the issue with the interaction showing up, I'll make a note to fix that so thanks for the heads up and clarification (might've crept up at some point when I was fixing some other stuff about it in the past); however, as is WAD, I did not have any text to choose some other courtier besides the original ones suggested - see this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/iE73qtQ.jpeg

As you can see, there's no words about choosing another courtier outside the ones that are already picked for the event. If you are seeing different text than another mod is probably changing that.

@cybrxkhan The text of the event presents those three options, but it also tells me that I can choose someone else (that I can "choose a courtier"), and the character interaction to do so is available. I don't have any mods that would affect RICE.

If it's not intended to work that way, the character interaction should be made unusable.

@Eiszett For the big expedition to discover Greenland, you shouldn't be able to select someone to lead it, it was coded to force you to choose the three options unlike the smaller expeditions. How are you able to select someone else for the task? Are you by chance using any other mods that might affect RICE?

For the first expedition to Greenland, the character interaction to make someone other than whichever one of the three options you picked initially lead it doesn't work. It can give them the prestige bonus (though the interaction needs to have random_owned_story changed to any_known_story to guarantee this), but it will still send your initial pick.

@Darth Revan: The catalyst is based on the vanilla catalyst, so it behaves similarly, and it's meant to emphasize economic growth in north Atlantic settlements rather than anything with domiciles per se

@BreadDaddyLenin Just in case, did you make sure to put ROA below RICE, and to test with no other mods other than RICE and ROA (not even minor cosmetic mods)? I don't add a lot of those title names and don't have any code for SEA ones that would clash with ROA, though obviously it's still possible the two mods might be interacting funny, but wanted to check that first

Hello, I noticed coming back to Rajas of Asia with this mod (ROA finally updated!) that the Filipino title names and are no longer localized. Example: Chieftain becoming Lakan for Tagalog people, or Emperor is Haringhari. It is now generic titles for rulers and provinces in the Philippines, but not japan or china it seems.

Is this a bug?

Hi also another thing about hephtalites in fallen eagle is that their heritage is Serdinian but with rice on it is Eranian is their a way to just make the Fallen eagle culture override the rice one

Hey would you be open to fixing common\scripted_triggers\j_khd01_RICE_marriage_triggers.txt to use faith = { has_doctrine_parameter = allows_polygamy }, culture = { has_cultural_parameter = allows_polygamy }, faith = { has_doctrine_parameter = allows_concubinage } and culture = { has_cultural_parameter = allows_concubinage } rather than the current specific doctrine/tradition checks? It would make this mod compatible with other mods that change or add relevant doctrines.

not with fallen eagle on for example when ever u play as the zunbils a screen pops up and it tells u about the charecter but u cant scroll down to read the whole thing.

@Leqwan Just checked my code and looks like I forgot to enable the Hephthalite culture getting Devoted Horsemen when running with TFE, I'll make a note to do that for the hotfix this weekend.
For the bookmarks, that might be a TFE bug, RICE doesn't change the bookmark menu - might want to bring that up in the TFE discord.

For some reason the info from selecting special charecters cant be scrolled forexample playing as the zunbils or Guiyi icant scroll to read the whole thingy
