Is there a way to set the default counting filter to "Vanilla" instead of "Automatic"?
Arthur GC 30 Μαϊ, 17:59
+1 to @Phrozehn and @SaintWacko suggestions
La Kato 18 Φεβ, 19:25
Is there any way to have this apply to all recipes, right now it only seems to work on meals or butchering?
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 23 Νοε 2024, 16:14
I do have an idea that could cover both of those suggestions, I'll see what I can do. Can't make any prediction on when I can get to it though.
hank 23 Νοε 2024, 13:41
Could we also count garden meat aswell, like lentils?
Phrozehn 14 Νοε 2024, 12:20
I'd like to strongly second adding functionality to choose what meals count towards "Do until X" for recipes?

For example I would like to make bills for meals like Lavish -> Fine - > Simple with the same target amounts that count each other meal type towards a shared total. Basically, If I have the ingredients to make fine meals, I'd rather those be made than simple ones. But if I don't have access to both meat and veg I don't want to have to go fiddle with the bills.

Better Work Benches does this but the rest of the mod isn't necessary anymore, and this one seems like a natural fit for such a hugely useful feature :) It would cut back and so much fiddling around with food bills. This would allow it to be pretty set-and-forget.

Anyway, love your mod. Hope you'll consider it!
elfxiong 3 Νοε 2024, 1:47
It seems the “count items outside of stockpiles” feature from Better Workbench Management also only work for “Vanilla” filter. I guess I have to choose between making empty stockpiles everywhere and the ability to filter.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 18 Οκτ 2024, 21:52
I can take a look at how that mod works.
SaintWacko 18 Οκτ 2024, 21:51
Any chance you could make this compatible with "Everybody Gets One"? It'd be great to be able to choose the filter on the "x per person" and "one per person (+x)" target types. As it is, something about the way it's implemented just breaks the "Count additional items" on those target types.
SaintWacko 18 Οκτ 2024, 21:07
@WJSabey The "Better Workbench Management" mod will let you do that. Just set your fine meal bill to higher priority than your simple meal bill, and have the simple meal bill also count fine meals. Then as long as you have enough fine meals, they won't make simple meals, but if they can't make fine meals, they'll fall back to the simple meals
WJSabey 30 Σεπ 2024, 18:22
Well not exactly , since it would be far less useful, if it also counted e.g. survival meals which should be their own stockpile. But having a "count fine meals also" toggle in simple meals and a "count simple meals also" in fine meals (though why would anyone want that?) would be, to the player, exactly as simple.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 30 Σεπ 2024, 9:31
Well that wasn't what you asked for initially. I'll think about it.
WJSabey 30 Σεπ 2024, 5:22
A "count all meal types" toggle is too complicated?
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 29 Σεπ 2024, 22:22
I don't see how I could have that not be way too complicated when selecting filters. I'll stick to the KISS principle on this.
WJSabey 29 Σεπ 2024, 22:18
Is it possible to let meal filters count different types of meals? I want my pawns to make fine meals first, falling back on simple meals if they run out of one ingredient type, but I would like them to only do this if the fine meals are low.
Mbos 27 Σεπ 2024, 0:23
@Kathanon
Is fine (Thats just how it goes with programming), thanks for taking the time to fix it.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 26 Σεπ 2024, 18:48
Update:
- Fixed "Custom" behaving like "Automatic" for non-meal bills.

@Mbos @Julian333XD:
Looks like I managed to break it when adding support for meals. Sorry about that.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 23 Σεπ 2024, 10:45
I'll take a look.
Julian333XD 23 Σεπ 2024, 4:38
I second Mbos' problem, it seems to be since 1.5
Mbos 15 Σεπ 2024, 12:52
For me it seems that the Custom filter is not used even when selected.(I unselected insect meat for my general butcher bill but it would still count it towards the list, same in my insect butcher bill it would still count toxic meat even though i set it to only count insect.)

Update:
- Fixed bug causing errors on opening "Take to" menu.

I'll take a look at compatibility with "Everyone Gets One" later.
Lurmey 20 Αυγ 2024, 13:02
Hiya I'm getting errors when trying to open the "Take to" dropdown on bills that have Automatic or Custom filtering selected. When I switch it to Vanilla filtering the dropdown works fine. This also applies to the bill types from "Everyone Gets One" such as One per person (+ X), which doesn't show the button for filtering but it nonetheless applies automatically.

Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 6 Αυγ 2024, 21:57
I'll add that to the description.
Thels 6 Αυγ 2024, 21:56
Please note that the Automatic and Custom filters ignore the "Count Additional Items" feature from Better Workbench Management ( https://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=935982361 ).

If you want to count all meal types when cooking, say, Fine Meals, you need to set the filter from this mod to Vanilla.
krzarb 18 Ιουλ 2024, 3:24
Thanks for the update. I haven't played extensively yet, but a quick test now has the meal count the same when I change from vanilla to automatic filter for all of my bills at the electric stove. Thanks so much for the fix.

Update:
- Fixed bug causing stacks of meals with mixed ingredients not being counted.

Thanks to all that reported this issue and tried to supply information. Please let me know if it fixed it for you.
Delmain 16 Ιουλ 2024, 20:38
Dropped a comment in the discussion thread for that bug. I tried leaving it here but it was too long for a comment.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 15 Ιουλ 2024, 3:18
Thanks. I'll see what I can find.
krzarb 14 Ιουλ 2024, 22:16
Here is the log file from when I open my current save game:

If there's any other way I can help please let me know. Cheers
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 14 Ιουλ 2024, 18:00
Yes please.
krzarb 14 Ιουλ 2024, 13:29
Sorry for the slow response. I haven’t been able to see any obvious errors in the debug log to account for the glitchy meal recognition behaviour, and tbh I’ve just changed most cooking recipes over to vanilla behaviour. Would my startup log file still be helpful?
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 14 Ιουλ 2024, 2:55
I do need a log to be able to proceed, preferably from several people that has the issue.
krzarb 8 Ιουλ 2024, 20:04
I haven’t noticed any console errors but I’m happy to post a copy of my log and mod list when I get home from work. The main mod that I have that modifies bills and workbenches is better workbench management, otherwise I’m at a loss as to what other mod would have an interaction. Thanks for looking into the issue
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 8 Ιουλ 2024, 19:50
I fixed the vanilla setting not being loaded properly (it was saved correctly), sorry about that.

Other than that I have not be able to reproduce the issues either of you have had, so I assume they are mod interactions.
Do you get any errors in the dev log?
Can you post a log?

Update:
- Fixed "vanilla" setting resetting to "automatic" when loading game.
Gidwelion 8 Ιουλ 2024, 8:42
Also i use the better workbench management mod if that helps narrow it down
Gidwelion 8 Ιουλ 2024, 8:41
I report that i have a bug similar to Jaggid Edje and krzarb.

My kibble bill wont recognize the kibble i already made unless i switch it to vanilla. Everytime i load my game the filter switches back to automatic and if i forget about that i have a huge mountain of kibble lying around my butcher table.

I use fish and vegetables from the Vanilla extended series aswell as twisted meat and insect meat for my kibble
krzarb 6 Ιουλ 2024, 15:49
Hi, I'm getting the same bug that Jaggid Edje has reported. If a "do until" bill for simple meals is set to automatic filtering via this mod, it won't stop once the appropriate number of meals has been created. Changing the filter back to vanilla behaviour will fix this. The particular bill in question was just making these meals out of any raw vegetarian ingredient minus nutrifungus.
Jaggid Edje 6 Ιουλ 2024, 6:23
I do use a few other mods that interact with meals. Common Sense and a few others.
I use a LOT of mods, so I wouldn't waste too much of your time on the issue @Kathanon if you don't get more of the same reports; it is quite probable that it is a mod-related compatibility issue of some type.

I have determined it is not Better Workbench Management nor is it Everybody Gets one though, it still happens when I remove those two mods.
Jaggid Edje 6 Ιουλ 2024, 6:19
Okay, I have more info. It's a filtering issue of some type, possibly related to insect meats and fungus meals. I use a lot of both in this colony.

Even switching to custom filters and trying to filter based on those parameters isn't picking up all of the meals it should, but if I just filter by general meat/vegetables everything works fine.
Kathanon  [Δημιουργός] 6 Ιουλ 2024, 5:59
Thank you. I'll see if I can reproduce it
