I can't understand why I have never added my thoughts on this route guys. I think now though, with all my scenarios I have created on it, you can appreciate that I think it is brilliant.
I have spent hours and hours creating on it. My final scenario in my latest collection will be published in another 2 days.
Thanks for all your hard work. The route is fantastic. Thank you.
Thanks must go to Spikee1975 too and Warwick Rail. Cheers.
Spikee1975 3 Apr, 2022 @ 8:29am
What a brilliant route upgrade. Especially with Not.Silent's scenarios.

I've a technical question though.

The RouteProperties.xml is referring to Provider "NickHudson" Product "WRBlue", although no assets from this pack are used.

The RSC/FalmouthBranch assets are not preloaded although they are used.

Here is a list of workshop scenarios for the route.

Dear Martin Freeman,
Can I make a version which has the tracks and signal replace by Cross City Line Track and JT Signals?
Nigel6446 11 Jun, 2020 @ 11:35am
I was unable to find it within the game, although showing in the unworkable workshop. I managed to find it once I had installed a scenario. To find it in free roam or quick drive, you have to go through build and add a quick drive and free roam via the editor tools. Not what I wanted to do, but for me it was the only way to play it.

Absoloutly Brilliant! I have great pleasure driving the NSE 158 on the route! The only route I use the pointless train on
len.cripps 5 Mar, 2018 @ 8:22am
Enjoyable route
KI0D 26 Feb, 2018 @ 6:06pm
RexCityRx, I made a free roam scenario for your route, and the route is great!
KI0D 6 Feb, 2018 @ 2:58pm
how do you fix that
KI0D 6 Feb, 2018 @ 2:58pm
i downloaded it, but when it was done decompressing, it wouldn't load in with my other routes

Thank you gents. I cannot imagine the amount of work this has involved. I enjoyed my first trip along the route. I don't know much about route building - having only just mastered scenarios - but I wondered what would be involved in updating the speed limits ? I clearly remember trains running through the Reading up through line at much more than 50mph when I was trainspotting there in the 70s. Thank you again for all your efforts.

Still cant see the route yet. I get to Workshop.., all add-ons are light grey, indicating they are already installed, yet rail simulator still instists I buy them again. All I can say is that Dovetail appears to be doing half a job, relying on others to develop and improve their product, while they sit back abd do sod all, which is ok if the money keeps rolling in. I notice similar things happening in FSX, also a dovetail product now. Dovetail? More like what comes out of the tail of doves.
philipcox1 22 Jul, 2017 @ 3:44am
Thank you for a truly enjoyable route, now one of my favourites to drive.
Tivvy Bumper 8 Jun, 2017 @ 4:02pm
Adding the run to Swindon from Didcot really makes this route feel more natural to me. I can't imagine the hours of work that went into this route, and it is excellent. Many thanks

Thanks Spartan, will have to give your scenario a try.

ahh the Quickdrive, there does seem to be a problem with the Quickdrive for some people....have not been able to figure it out. Nick and I have published some scenarios for the Route which are available for download on the Workshop....if you subscribe to those you will be able to run the Route....
neuner.fan1 25 Mar, 2016 @ 7:11am
Okay I had a brainwave! I recorded it on my phone and played it back. The message box appears for a split second after decompressing and says installing workshop items with a button saying ok. If that's any help.
neuner.fan1 25 Mar, 2016 @ 6:30am
Sorry, Just notoiced a grey box appear with a message but it only flashes up for a slit second, unfortunately too quick for me to read.

I definately have all the payway content though.
neuner.fan1 25 Mar, 2016 @ 6:22am
Thanks for your reply, no I've not had any messages. it's shows in the subscribed list but does not apperar in quick drive.
Martin Freeman  [author] 24 Mar, 2016 @ 7:19am
Do you receive any messages onscreen?
neuner.fan1 24 Mar, 2016 @ 5:47am
Have all of the payware items but the route will simply not load. Have tried subscribing and unsubsribing about 10 times now. Do you have any advice?
n.e.hudson 3 Feb, 2016 @ 6:04am
To the Hamster. It is obvious that you haven't even opened up the route. The milepost before Swindon says (if memory serves) 77. Every mile from there to Paddington it goes down by 1. One mile from Paddington it says 1. That, to me, suggests that the route is a lot longer than 32 miles. On the other hand, we all know that a "country mile" is longer than 1760 yards. Perhaps that is your yardstick.
Martin Freeman  [author] 12 Jan, 2016 @ 3:11pm
You're welcome, hope you enjoy that route and ours :--) For this route Nick and I have published a few scenarios here on the Workshop.

Andy
rogers266 12 Jan, 2016 @ 2:57pm

Here you go -

http://cs2bus.com/steamstore/app/222613/

It is full price at the moment, might be an idea to wait for the next sale....your choice of course.

Andy
rogers266 12 Jan, 2016 @ 11:39am
i understand its payware, no probs. do you have a link ive searched but cant find? thanks
Martin Freeman  [author] 12 Jan, 2016 @ 11:37am
It is payware unfortunately, you can buy it from the steam store.....it is a fabulous route in it's own right though .......just to be clear, we were not involved in the creation of that route.

Andy
rogers266 12 Jan, 2016 @ 11:30am
ok thanks, could be that then, where can i get wcml over shap please?
Martin Freeman  [author] 12 Jan, 2016 @ 7:39am
Hi - strange that you are getting a "scenario failed to load" message as this is a Route and not a scenario...do you have the "WCML Over Shap" Route? We have used assets from that Route here so it is required to be able to use this Route.

Andy
rogers266 12 Jan, 2016 @ 6:31am
hi when i try to play this download, i get messages coming up saying:
'scenario failed to load'
Consist Builder-Cant load rail vehicle-WCML2 0AA Ballast'
Am i missing a file. Please advise, many thanks
The Hamster 8 Jan, 2016 @ 5:04pm
And i admit, my Previous Comment was Incorrect, i had Misread The Title For Another Workshop Add-On. Sorry.
The Hamster 8 Jan, 2016 @ 5:03pm
I Would Recommend This, But It Is Not A Realistic Length, From Swindon To Paddington it is 80 Miles, Where in Game It Says it's only 32 Miles, Explain That To Me.

I just downloaded this route but i can't use it in quick drive please help.
n.e.hudson 15 Aug, 2015 @ 4:56am
When we regressed the route to the BR Blue period, we took what was there in the original, 2000s route. If you write a scenario for the route, you can amend the scenery to include the third rail. You can amend the network properties to change the electrification from "no" to "yes". You can then run EMUs from plats 4A/B to and from the Guildford portal. It is down to you!
NIGELBPOOL 12 Aug, 2015 @ 8:26am
hi gunnery i remember it was on platforms 4a and 4b as they were for services to waterloo. and classes 421,422 and 423 emus started and terminated there. (See webpage for info)

Martin Freeman  [author] 10 Aug, 2015 @ 7:46am
Hi nigeldarl - unfortunately the Route is now Final which means that it can't be changed. I don't think that the 3rd rail electrification was in place during the era in which this version of the Route is set though ( BR Blue early 1980s )?

Andy
NIGELBPOOL 9 Aug, 2015 @ 1:09pm
any chance of a slight upgrade as the bay platforms at the london end of reading station are 3rd rail electrification (platforms 4a and 4b to Guildford also on the same line just after the gwml connection there are 4 sidings to stable emu stock.
Martin Freeman  [author] 6 Aug, 2015 @ 12:22pm
Thanks Scouser888 - for some reason many people have had problems with the QD, can't fathom it out unfortunately....we have published a few scenarios for the Route here on the Workshop so you may enjoy driving those.....also have a look for our Liverpool to Manchester BR Blue Route that we published here recently.

Andy
Scouser888 6 Aug, 2015 @ 7:44am
This is a remarkable achievement. I cannot imagine the countless hours spent in creating this route. Just one problem, the build section of TS says there is a QD scenario from Paddington to Swindon, but, it doesn't matter which loco I chose, the route does not show up. Any ideas?
Martin Freeman  [author] 24 May, 2015 @ 4:55am
I am so glad that there are people around like "The Hamster" to put the rest of us right, I grew up during the BR Blue period which I really thought was the 70's and 80's...now I find out that it was really the 50's, at least that explains why I look so old when looking in the mirror. Feel free not to recommend this "The Hamster" - but please read the title of anything that you download in the future, will avoid any disappointment.

Andy
snapper50 16 May, 2015 @ 7:44am
Great scenario. Thank you.
DaveJC64 6 May, 2015 @ 12:20am
Ok thanks for the reply, I will give the scenarios a look.
Martin Freeman  [author] 5 May, 2015 @ 8:07am
Well yes, in theory, as you cannot publish a Route on the Workshop without one.....I did add a QD but many people seem to have had issues with it, you can find some standard scenarios here on the Workshop which will enable you to run the route though.

Andy
DaveJC64 5 May, 2015 @ 1:44am
Should this route have any quickdrives as I can't seem to find any?
Martin Freeman  [author] 2 May, 2015 @ 2:31am
Thanks for the comments - we currently don't have any plans to extend further.
