I'm not sure, but I think I broke the first puzzle?

The sequence for the final exit wasn't that complicated, but pretty satisfying to execute. Good fun.

Are you discontinuing this series? If so can you tell us what the story was supposed to be?

Liked the first chambers (huge fan of the color correction) but the autoportal one was a bit weaker than the others. Mostly waiting.

Clever use of timed portal.....once figured out - then a bit boring just waiting for portals to cycle and move cubes....thanks for creating again.....

Just like the other map, turrets added nothing to the test. The map as a whole minus turrets, everything is great. The yellow fizzler reminded me of srs bsnss's Inquisition map pack:

The last chamber(s) was a bit tedious but I suppose that makes finishing it a little more rewarding. All in all a fun map very well executed.

it was definitely a shock.
Rubycario  [author] 27 Jul, 2015 @ 9:27pm
I'm not sure how I could have made anything clearer than what it already is, but thanks for the comment, I'll keep that further in mind when making future maps. :p2orange:

there needs to be better direction, that first puzzle was tough to solve, its definitely more difficult, unfortunately had it not been for the video, i'd say it would've been broken.

This is a glorious map,one of the best I've encountered! I admit, the first puzzle actually stumped me,and Silverblood's video was very helpful. The second two weren't as tough, but still very clever
Rubycario  [author] 24 Jul, 2015 @ 9:01pm
Thanks Silverblood! It's always nice to see other people's prepsectives on my maps, so I appreciate the videos.

Great map, definitely worth playing, includes some new challenges... Admittedly, I spent about 20 minutes on the second test until I figured out how to finish it while repeatedly questioning my intelligence myself as soon as I found out the solution.

I will be making a collection of walkthrough videos for the Secondary Fire series, here is the video for this test (Feel free to use this video as the main one on the Workshop page if you wish, RubyCarbuncle.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D20x-1L0dgg

The puzzles a great. The description is is very long in my opinion :) I started reading it then lost interest lol

What a fantastic map, thumbs up!
There are a couple of maps I'm trying to get out there a bit, try it and leave a comment :)

Fantastic. And for the record I really liked the pointless turret.
Reallifegangsterbob 21 Jul, 2015 @ 3:11pm
what is it?

Nice map. Thumbs up!
Rubycario  [author] 21 Jul, 2015 @ 9:51am
Since at least two where wondering about it, the turret in the final room was more or less meant to show the players that the chamber did have turrets in it, back when it was initially made, anyway. I can see now that after adding the glass floors as well as making the signage more noticeable that specific turret may be a tad uneccesary.

I appreciate your thoughts on this, however I don't think I'll be removing it from this map. Nonetheless, thank you for your feedback, it's very much appreciated. :p2orange:

What's the point of the caged turret in the last room?
Other than that good job.
totes amaze balls 19 Jul, 2015 @ 9:43am
Way to go!

Love the lighting, and the way you had only orange portals to shoot.
5iktor 19 Jul, 2015 @ 8:05am
Fun and a little bit challanging map,
I like tthe sings your use in your map,
but in the last chamber, why was there a turret!?
It was irretating and made the waiting for the portals to go around too long.

Thanks for the critc p0rtalmaster. :) I actually agree on the music, however I wanted something rather ominous sounding and this seemed to be the best fit since I don't have any custom music of my own to work with at the moment. I could tone down the volume, though, as I agree this track in particular can get rather repetitive.

Thanks for the comments! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :p2orange:

...and somehow this map seems similar to some of your others...and yet it's... new and different...

" Good morning. You have been in suspension for ..."

"...99999 99999 99999 99999 9999..."

...What a long time its been since we've seen an amazing map from you here on the workshop! :D :p2cube:

I too noticed the color correction and second quaternary below. My only complaint would be the music: it's not really needed, and I've heard it in way too many crappy maps, so it's gone stale for me, to say the least (if you really wanna keep it though, I recommend turning the volume down a bit) :P
quat 18 Jul, 2015 @ 4:19pm
The color correction is very nice, I haven't seen many puzzles areound the workshop that make use of color correction. Nice puzzle too <3
lfairban 18 Jul, 2015 @ 3:18pm
Excellent! Had me stuck for a while in the last part trying to figure out how to get off that ledge without getting killed.
Rubycario  [author] 18 Jul, 2015 @ 2:38am
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

About the lighting, I changed it around because after seeing images of the New Blue Portals I wanted to have Secondary Fire look different than what Reep's project was. So, to keep it similar to what I had before, I left all the lighting as it was and looked further into Color Corrections. (which in turn drastically changed the way the lighting looked) I found one I liked, (which, I'll admit, I took from The Sacrifice), which gave a little bit more of a dank atmosphere to the levels. At least while in the test chambers, that is. I plan to mess around with Color Corrections often while making these maps.

Thanks for your thoughts, though! I'm very happy to hear critic! :p2orange:

The puzzles were great, and I think you achieved what you aimed for: simple and fun. None of them took more than a few minutes but they were cleverly designed.

I'm kind of disappointed that you drastically changed the lighting scheme from the bright orange to a dreary greenish color. It seems that you've done this with the previous maps as well. Anyways, I still enjoyed it, and I'm giving it a thumbs up.
