Why would this be a matter to begin with, though, about the "dx version", though, Orion88 FIN? I simply want the mechanics to be clarified, nothing at all hostile.
I'll also try your experiment, as that's kind of part of computer troubleshooting, and as I was getting at: computers are finicky, and the main thing we'd be interacting with is the program, or with other people via the program, such as a forum online.
Oh, and to be more clear on my part, what the gameplayer is doing is akin to running a nationstate, what the *game developers* have done, whether it works or not, is to make what's called a "universe generator" as it were... now whether it works or not is another issue, if it works: it is marvelous, if it does not, it is basically a massively frustrating pain in the neck frankly, especially if it did for a while and then fails.
"Right click on Stellaris in your Steam library -> choose Properties -> And write to the Launch options "-dx9" (without those "" marks obviously) and then launch the mod. This should then launch Stellaris and the mod in dx9 instead of the standard dx11 that might help performance on lower end machines. You can see what dx version you have in use from Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/system.log.
!Also notice that if you do this and then in the future want to switch back to dx11, you need to then at least once write "-dx11" to Launch options as otherwise it will just say in dx9 mode!"
Now will it help in your case don´t know, but if you have already tried everything else perhaps worth a try.
Some problems cannot, some problems need a much keener mind, typically psychological problems than man can attain, but even there: studying sanity can help; so the same principle is at work: either address the symptoms and have the problem get progressively worse until it destroys you, or address the core issue, ignoring the symptoms as much as possible, and the symptoms will remove themselves from existence as time goes on.
One example for this is if you're dealing with basically the game's equivalent of Leninist pirates, increase the private sector and fortifications by arming the citizenry; and the problem will remove itself.
That's kind of what I mean by if you address the issue at core, the rest of the problem will kind of self-solve.
You may well be very much spot on, if not fully accurate on how to solve it, but the problem will continue until the core issue is resolved- that's what I'm up to: to translate this stance into a wargame analogy akin to this: I'm talking about finding the main base of the problem and addressing it at its base, then the rest of it should kind of self-solve.
And that's just to begin with.
@G-Man, for reference, the game worked fine until about two days post the update to 4.0.21, the version I've been using, and post a few days of playing that; it fails to launch, I'm far more interested in *how and why* this happens, to prevent it from happening on my end than anything else, but solving that would also solve most of the problems at that.
Removal or hiding of the replies will not help you at all, if anything, the mere idea to do so may well make it infinitely worse for all those remotely in charge at all, due to poor character content on the part of even one of them once.
After that, do a fresh reinstall of the game and resubscribe to the mod from scratch.
This exact issue has been resolved for many players by doing that.
Initially, we thought it was just the settings.txt causing the problem (which did help others), but in your case — and many similar ones — fully clearing out the Documents folder was the key.
Let us know if that helps!

I get the impression that your perception of reality differs fundamentally from that of most others here. Terms like “professionalism,” “Microsoft,” or “CEO” in the context of a simple bug report seem out of place and do not contribute to a constructive discussion.
We want to ensure that this space remains open to those who want to report actual bugs and help stabilize the open beta as quickly as possible. To make that possible, we will unfortunately have to remove future posts from you that deviate this far from the topic.
Still, thank you for your previous input, and we wish you all the best.
Farewell.
:D
Something happened with the programming since then, I don't know what.
@Russ; that remark of yours is both uncalled for and profoundly unprofessional at core!
Especially when the issue is that the program tends to malfunction- now some good news *can* be sent in; I was able to get the game to work, yet *was* is the vital term; and while it *should* be all the time, the situation with this particular game kicking out upon reaching 100% of the very first loading of the two, where you'd go into to select your nation or even to select a saved game; that's where it ceases to work... I'd not bring this *here*, except that the server refuses to accept the error report.
When I did get some readout, it *said* something about a runtime error; but it is specific to the game, and no, it is NOT a shortage of memory.
At least here the item has some odds of being redressed.
Thx
(i havent tried the new one yet, as am still in a 3.14 game, which was the latest version at the time but it hasnt crashed at all for me, and im playing borg lol - only the couple of questions i had for borg i posted further down, but apart from that it seems to work great)
