Not bad!
I really liked this test chamber!

Bad ending you only need the portal gun in the room at the end, no lasers just gravity.

glad you're liking them!

Nice DejaVu. Thanks!

I know, I just meant that I was in a better situation because of the update :p And could you add me please? I don't want to talk to you through a comment section..
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 30 Jun, 2013 @ 2:02pm
i think the only way to do it so far is to upload it manually, not through the PETI. this means i'd have to remake the courses and reupload them. i'd lose all my count and subs and ratings. i'm a little too greedy to do that lol
Poulet repas 30 Jun, 2013 @ 10:51am
I understand. Especially when you are supposed to put something in the middle of a 2x2 square... it's impossible in the PeTI editor! :0 And now with the BEE Mod update, I think that the people who didn't download it can play the chambers with the energy pellets but it bugs a little bit.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 29 Jun, 2013 @ 10:17pm
HAH! finally someone besides me who has done that! i had my laptop and my computer sitting rigt next to each other. i flew around using noclip and measured all the courses by block. with some of the smaller blocks, it's actually pretty hard to get close measurements sometimes, isn't it? as for the lasers, i used them because the only way that people could use the energy pellets is if they download beemod, and i understand that not everyone wants to do that. you lose a lot of audience as soon as you say "download this first," because no one ever wants to bother. but since the lasers replaced pellets in this game anyway, it felt fitting (and not that much different when you play it). as for test chamber 01, there really is no good way to do that geometry. i tried so much on that one to get it right. but the toughest one by far to get was 12
Poulet repas 29 Jun, 2013 @ 5:37pm
I won't say that yours is more accurate because you used lasers instead of energy pellets... That doesn't make it exact to Portal 1... And I played Portal 1 on one screen and PeTI editor was on the other screen so I think that I made them pretty accurate... I counted every square and looked for every details! But I don't say that your recreations are bad! No it really felt like Portal 1 :) (The only one that was not as good as the other ones is "Original Portal: Test Chamber 01", because of the geometry). Btw I just created new chambers that are even more accurate that the ones that I did in the past (like I added angled walls). You made a good job.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 29 Jun, 2013 @ 4:44pm
well it depends on what you want to do when making them. if you're trying to make them exact, like i did, well, i don't know what to say. because of course i feel like mine would be the most accurate ;)
but if you're making them with a new twist, that 's the really fun part. you get to take the old chambers and reimagine the puzzles with all the new stuff available in P2. to that, there's really no end of possibilities.
Poulet repas 29 Jun, 2013 @ 2:03pm
Oh! I thought that you could just move the arrow! You saved my life :) Thank you! I know that it may be annoying but can you give me some advice and constructive comments about my Portal 1 chambers? It would be appreciated.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 29 Jun, 2013 @ 1:57pm
when you place a piston platform, there's two adjustable aspects to it that you can click and grab. the first is an arrow, that shows where the platform will go up or down to when the platform is activated. then, there is a sphere on the other end of the arrow. grabbing it and moving it changes the start position of the platform. move it up, and then move the arrow down to where you want it to lower to when activated.
Poulet repas 29 Jun, 2013 @ 11:47am
Does anybody know how to make a piston start up and then go down when it's activated? PLEASE tell me!! :0
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 19 Jun, 2013 @ 3:49pm
yeah i really wish this game had moving platforms that worked like the ones in the first game. a good few of my remakes could use them.
i'm glad you enjoyed the maps!
DvN 19 Jun, 2013 @ 12:55pm
It would be great if that platform above the water could move. Still, nice map,
Extragamer 31 May, 2013 @ 2:24am
This map made good!
asminahipi 28 Dec, 2012 @ 5:04am
muy buen trabajo ! feliz año !
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 13 Aug, 2012 @ 6:13pm
xD i tried flinging myself in there during testing and couldn't do it, so i never put the release in. i'm impressed, good sir. its now on my to do list.
N-Sunderland 13 Aug, 2012 @ 6:53am
You can trap yourself behind the glass panel in the final room if you fling yourself in. You should implement a system similar to the one in Portal 1, where GLaDOS let you out by making the floor underneath you fold over, and then opening the side. You could do that with angled panels and triggers.
Stric_Matic 18 Jun, 2012 @ 12:34am
Well, you managed to recreate it as much as possible (using only the PTI editor) but it just isn't the same due to lack of moving pellets and platforms. The puzzles with lasers instead of pellets are much simpler, especially the one where you had those angled panels and you needed to redirect the pellet in the original.

Your recreations are decent but unfortunately you're gonna have to use Hammer to really combine the elements of P1 and P2. Loving the mixed aesthetics in some other author's re-creations but i'm not gonna advertise them here, would be rude :)

Ahh, good old friend number 15. It's so great (terrifying) to see you again.

sigh

I like how the final elevator is as bypassable (is that a word?) as in the original
OriHarpy 5 Jun, 2012 @ 4:25am
Brilliant recreation/reimagining of possibly my favourite test chamber from Portal. Very fun level.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 28 May, 2012 @ 5:53pm
it originally did, but people simply portaled up to the next level. so i changed it so it started up. it's a small change that isn't especially noticable and effectively seals off the next area without adding any complications. i listed the change and the reason in my list of improvements/revisions in the description.
Ciirulean 28 May, 2012 @ 5:49pm
If I remember the piston platform starts down.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 28 May, 2012 @ 5:48pm
how and where would be helpful
Ciirulean 28 May, 2012 @ 4:58pm
You can cheat on this very easily.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 27 May, 2012 @ 12:43pm
no i put inactive flip pannels there. they have a darker outline.
Urist McYeIIowDucK 27 May, 2012 @ 10:39am
How did you outline some of the surfaces? Did you use Hammer?
lew_b81 26 May, 2012 @ 5:55pm
It's possible to get stuck in the very last room. Usually Glados would let you out, but Cave seems unwilling to help. ;) Don't know if you left it in on purpose or not, but it'd be fairly easy to get rid of with some carefully linked flip panels. Still, great recreation!
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 25 May, 2012 @ 7:22pm
Since a lot of people complained, I changed the platforms. They will now activate permanently, and you can portal across instead of jumping. Enjoy!
MCJ 9000 25 May, 2012 @ 6:34pm
there's a part were the platform is down when it should have been up, I just portalled right out of there and bypassed the section completely.
GMAMmoose123 25 May, 2012 @ 6:27pm
i gave this one a begrudging "yay" but only for the rooms and stuff. tho i did not get thru because of the shoot AND move, something i can do but barely. died 5 times then io give up, lol (level 12 i did get thru, but CTD after, 3 times... thot u shuld no
AwesomeSauce 25 May, 2012 @ 6:15pm
This is a good recreation, but the path to the end section was just BRUTAL. I died at least twice trying to get over. But, still good otherwise!
Kibate 25 May, 2012 @ 12:07am
I did, i tried 10 times or so, i once even walked right into the pit because i was so close to the edge. Maybe it has to do with the fact that portal runs a tiny bit laggy on my pc?(i actually bought it for ps3, and thus only play portal on pc for this) which normally isn't a problem.
If it works for you i guess its okay, but you could have justaswell put a few more of those things in there, not like it was any real challenge in the original portal aswell.
Fat Ninja Walrus  [author] 24 May, 2012 @ 11:40pm
i can assure you that it is within your jumping distance. i know because i tried it a LOT while playtesting to ensure that it was possible. the last thing i wanted was to make a great remake only to have it ruined by something that simple haha. get a run at it, try jumping a little later.
Kibate 24 May, 2012 @ 11:34pm
I have a problem with the room that is seperated by a huge fizzler wall(which disappears once the laser hit the receiver) the problem is, that platform that appears is too far away for me to jump on, thus resulting in me falling into the water every.single.time (and since you can't save in the workshop maps, its even more frustrating)
SpeedKing 23 May, 2012 @ 3:41pm
also, in the room after that, i can fling myself across without using the pit nearby.
SpeedKing 23 May, 2012 @ 3:40pm
What the guy below me said. The platform shpuld be extended by defauslt, i think.
Roland il Rosicone 23 May, 2012 @ 3:06pm
Hey, there's something wrong :) I can avoid the part with the two open rooms just by shooting a portal to the platform I'm supposed to go by resolving the laser puzzle.
splintPRO 20 May, 2012 @ 1:35pm
Отлично!
