To everyone:
if you are having trouble being able to start, if trying to create a scenario, it is OK to subscribe to any of my scenarios (using Warwick Rail's workshop scenarios shortcut listed below) - and clone it.

Great! Thx. W.R. Found the route. Had a King Class racing to Stroud from Swindon. I love the route, Excellent work my friend. Well done. :steamhappy:

Hello Colin. This is because the route origin has not been set to the proper co-ordinates. It is using the default, which is the position of the official DLC route used as a template - Weardale & Teesdale Network - which is 54.65717 -1.67800.

The correct co-ordinates for the origin of this workshop route is 51.56574 -1.78582

Edit the scenario you have already created (in the middle of nowhere) and enter the correct co-ordinates in the navigation pane at the top of the screen and press the white triangle select arrow to move to the centre of Swindon. You will find yourself under ground, so use CTRL+SHIFT+HOME to move to ground level. Then use the small scenario icon on the top left menu to create a new scenario. It will be placed in the route at your current position.

Unfortunately I could not find the route at all. Its now in my route menu but all I discovered was miles of green terrain. I couldn't make any scenarios at all. If anyone can assist me or advise me regarding this issue, please help. Thanks. Have a great Christmas & New Year everyone, Best wishes to you all. (Sid) :steamhappy:

It's been a long time, but will there be a V1.3?
philip  [author] 17 Jun, 2020 @ 6:28am
@thrillseeker131 Wow what a lovely story! Very glad that you both got enjoyment out of it and some interesting stories too. Yes, with regards to detail unfortunately old photos and maps don't quite compare to being there in person, but I tried my best! I can't ask for any higher praise than that!
thrillseeker131 7 Jun, 2020 @ 1:51pm
My Granddad was a fireman based at Swindon sheds back in the 50's and into the 60's, I showed him this route and let him have a play around on it not long before he sadly passed away last year ,he was blown away by the route even though he was very nit picky about small details but having been told the stories of some of the routes by him it is brilliant to be able to drive some of the extinct routes that he would've worked on. so yes this route is recomended by not only me but by an ex Swindon fireman.
philip  [author] 19 Apr, 2020 @ 6:14am
@Not.Silent Ah right yes I can see why! Indeed it was nice to have something a little bit different to the norm.
Not.Silent 19 Apr, 2020 @ 5:31am
Hello again philip. Thanks. I couldn't remember if you had. You did what I think is one of my top 10 scenarios - Banking up Sapperton. I tested this a lot, to get it to the point where it would work the way I wanted. It is a real challenge from what I remember, and is fun being able to toggle front to back (I think?). I must try it again, to create another similar one if possible somewhere.
philip  [author] 19 Apr, 2020 @ 4:59am
@Not.Silent many thanks again for your comments. Yes I seem to remember I did a few a while back now, banking up Sapperton with a Pannier tank and taking a Grange up the Highworth branch are just 2 that I remember. I know I have played some more of them which I have the DLC for. Very good they were too!
philip  [author] 19 Apr, 2020 @ 4:50am
@pparnis Sorry for taking so long to reply to this but I'm glad you're enjoying exploring the route! Please feel free to make scenarios for it (if you haven't already!)
Not.Silent 23 Aug, 2019 @ 4:09am
Hi again philip. I hadn't noticed Paul's comment below - until I started mine! I am thoroughly enjoying creating on your route 'AGAIN'. I keep going back to it to do some more. It is brilliant.
Thank you and best regards. Just for interest, have you ever run any of my scenarios?
pparnis 19 Aug, 2019 @ 1:07pm
Hi Philip
Have only just discovered your route even though it is over 2 years old.
The detail is excellent and I have tried "Not Silent" scenarios on your route, they are very good.
Also tried a "Quick Drive" and will now consider writing a scenario on your great route, if O.K. with you.
Well done, as you must have spent a huge amount of time on this, it is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for sharing,
Best Regards,
Paul

Thanks a lot for sharing this route. It's an awesome route, better then some of the paid DLC. I love the detail along the railroad, makes it a lovely route to drive even on slow speeds.
tigerbreadkilla 10 May, 2019 @ 12:30am
Hello, fantastic route, thank you.
I was just wondering if there are any future plans to take this as far as cheltenham?
I live locally to the location of all the old cheltenham stations and it has long been an obsession of mine to see the old m&swjr line in working order. Obviously this is impossible in real life now so I have turned to simulation to see if i can get my fix.
If there are no further expansion plans to this route I had considered starting my own but being a complete novice at the creator Im a little lost as where to start.
Anybody else interested in this thought at all?

what is the X,Y and Z lat and long:steamsad:
daymyron 13 Aug, 2018 @ 7:53pm
thank you, I'll try again with that info
philip  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 9:43am
@daymyron Many thanks, it certainly did! Not sure how the platform problem occured, maybe a download issue as I do not have it. Yes I did think that with the river to but it looked stranger in cuttings so left it following the line of land. If you type in lat: 51.5669013 and long: -1.7838096 and that should put you in Swindon.
philip  [author] 13 Aug, 2018 @ 9:35am
@Dom type in lat: 51.5669013 and long: -1.7838096 and that should put you in Swindon.
daymyron 9 Aug, 2018 @ 1:25pm
A thoroughly decent effort that must have taken many hours indeed, it is very pretty and is a nice run.
However, there are some issues. In a few of the stations the passengers are wading through the platforms, indicating that they were positioned on the base layer perhaps prior to positioning the platform. One other oddity is that the river follows the terrain thus in parts it goes uphill and downhill.
In terms of scenarios, quick drive has no AI or anything really, my attempt to create one, gave me the same effect as Dom reported, a train in the midst of nowt. I'm hoping that perhaps others have more luck and post some scenarios in workshop, as apart from the few issues it is a very nice little route.
rouanet.b 4 Aug, 2018 @ 2:33am
Subtile manoeuvre pour acceder a la rame , ligne sublime , merci pour ce beau scenario , du bon travail.
DomCan'tFly 2 Aug, 2018 @ 6:43am
This route is amazing, however whenever I try to create a scenario for it, it just puts me in the middle of a big empty world with nothing so I can't do anything. When creating the scenario, I selected "Route Origin" as all the others were Wearsdale and Teesdale rail network stations. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
philip  [author] 25 Jul, 2018 @ 11:14am
@andy duke Many thanks, it certainly did take a while!!

Just discovered your route and what a great piece of work it is . Thanks very much for what must be a fantastic amount of extremely hard work !!

@Not.Silent Glad you've got the hang of it, I look forward to driving them!
Not.Silent 7 Jun, 2018 @ 4:10am
Hi philip (and RolandBP). Well done on this route. Now I have a scenario by RolandBP to clone, I can create and publish on your route. I tried a long time ago, but could not figure out how to start, as you have no route indicators to choose from, and route origin is a vast wasteland. I meant to ask you how to start creating on the route, but lost impetus. I think somewhere you mention, using Quick Drive, edit to create a scenario from there. I cannot figure out how this is done. You will now see a lot from me - via Roland BP's cloned scenario - opening up LOADS of possibilities for me now - and I mean LOADS. Be prepared for 5 at least, over the next few days and weeks. Thanks RolandBP (I just created on your Whatley Quarry and published) too!!
Revarnes 20 May, 2018 @ 7:43am
Alright. Well i have to say i tried your 12:05 scenario with the Grange yesterday, and the scenery is stunning. My only gripe is that my computer almost exploded tryign to get out of Swindon in one piece.
philip  [author] 20 May, 2018 @ 4:52am
@TNGS_Revarnes The next extension will be into Gloucester on the main line and north towards Andoversford on MSWJR. I am currently planning for late summer as the release as I've been very the last few months.
Revarnes 18 May, 2018 @ 4:50am
Hello Philip. How long are you planning for this route to be? Any estimate for when it's finally going to be done?
philip  [author] 18 Mar, 2018 @ 2:40pm
@Deadly Dorito Its slowed down at the moment as other things have got in the way in the past couple of months but progress is still happening. Hopeful of a late summer release at the moment with the Gloucester extension and pushing the MSWJR forwards.
Deadly-Dorito 11 Mar, 2018 @ 3:11am
Hey philip, its been over a year now. Hows that new update coming along? :P
philip  [author] 25 Feb, 2018 @ 1:44pm
@ Ooohh I look forward playing it shortly!
RolandBP 17 Feb, 2018 @ 3:57am
The previous scenario I did originally was re-done, here is the new link:

I have just added a new scenario for this route:

Revarnes 27 Jul, 2017 @ 11:44am
Alright, thanks for the reply Phillip.
philip  [author] 27 Jul, 2017 @ 11:42am
That's Swindon
philip  [author] 27 Jul, 2017 @ 11:42am
@Revarnes Sorry for the late reply, not sure about the bridges etc., may be a problem with when you downloaded it, reinstalling might be an idea? For the scenarios type in lat: 51.5669013 and long: -1.7838096 .
Revarnes 25 Jul, 2017 @ 4:00pm
Also whenever i want to make a scenario for the route, i end up spawning in the middle of nowhere, and with no idea of where the route is...
Revarnes 25 Jul, 2017 @ 2:57pm
Hi, Very much like this route. But there's a few things which bothers me. Sometimes i notice a bridge or 2 completely missing and either a Road, or Track is floating above it. making it look like it got major gravitational superpowers. I have all DLC required, but still it seems i'm missing some bridge. Any reason why this is so?
Deadly-Dorito 21 Jul, 2017 @ 11:52am
Hi, ive recently experienced 2 very slight issues. First highworth branch is flying ( http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1084986823 ) and some of the bridges dont appear unless you are on highest settings. Im suprised this tool me so long to find :P
