Stellar Warrior is an unfinished/broken game disguised as a SHMUP that is both impossibly difficult and mind-numbingly simple. The first level is a basic SHMUP where enemies can be fought and their bullets dodged. The rest of the levels are just thrown together without any sort of flow or guaranteed way out. The player is quickly overrun by enemies and even off screen enemies are firing well in advance. There is no indication of how much damage your bullets are doing and boss fights can last around 20 minutes while hitting them constantly.

There are numerous bugs that are just short of game breaking. Upon dying, the player is invulnerable for several seconds, but it also prevents the hit box from collecting pick-ups. There is no way to restart a level or get back to the main menu and the game must be force closed. The game states its saving checkpoints, but these are never used. Don’t plan on getting 100% achievements either as all of the level completion ones are broken. The leaderboards have their share of problems as well – there is an overall score one that is broke and I am still trying to wrap my brain around how the developer thought combining the scores of both players in 2 player-mode was a good idea for a single score leaderboard.

Then there are the controls, which require the player to hold down two buttons to perform a charged shot, another button for movement, one for the shield, and 4 keys at a time to activate all of the special weapons. So, if you want to have shields on while firing a charged shot and all of your weapons while moving it would take 8 keys being pressed down at once! In two player mode that could be 16 keys! I don’t even think the most expensive gaming keyboards can handle that.

This brings me to what this game really is. It’s as if the developer thought “I want to design a game where the only way to win is to mash 8 keys down at once through the whole game and I will label it as a bullet hell game.” That’s the secret to the game – because the shields are unlimited as long as you hold the button down the entire game and you also need to hold down the fire key to get past the bosses, but they are bullet sponges so you’ll find yourself holding down all of the fire and special weapons keys. I found that fortunately the game will let you configure the same key for multiple actions so I just mapped all firing and shield to 1 mouse button and held it down the entire game. I was able to make the game even easier by configuring both player 1 and 2 to use the same keys in order to control both for double-fire power. Not sure what I just played, but in the end it was not a SHMUP and sort of played itself.

I didn't notice much of a difference from the original difficulty. It's still all the same levels with too many enemies and ridiculously long boss fights. Not sure why the developer would think this would be fun. The associated achievements are broken so these cannot be obtained anyway.

There is not much to say about this game. It is very short (took me less than 10 minutes) to finish. Majority of the game is seen in the trailer, which just consists of a series of simple levels where you find the key and then the exit. Some of the levels had both the key and the exit next to each other. The only challenging part was a fake exit in one of the levels, otherwise they were just too simple. I paid 3 cents for this and still feel ripped off.

The game's launch screen boasts about it being made in some custom game engine "SovKey Studio", however the icon for the game is clearly Construct 2.

The game is so slow and repetitive. It feels like a game that has an hour of actual content that has been stretched out to 20x that for some reason. Just from the start, the intro takes forever (just watch the trailer video) with no way to advance the dialog. The enemies are all lifeless zombie bullet sponges that fire off shots at timed intervals. They are very easy, but it takes forever to take them out (the first enemy in the game takes 20 hits to kill.) The graphics look like they were just taken from a prefab castle game with elements like ladders stuck in there for no reason at all as the main character floats around. The controls are terrible as well. Rather than having a separate attack button for each spell, the game requires the player to select the spell (1-6) with one hand and then click the mouse button with another, but the mouse isn't even used for aiming - it fires in the direction the character is facing. One of the spells is to block an enemy bullet, but in order to use it you have to take your hand off the WASD keys to press 2 to active it, click to fire, and then press 1 to go back to the default attack spell and click again all while getting your hand back to the WASD keys to move again.

The levels also take an exponentially long time to unlock. Each has a certain crystal requirement to unlock. Just completing the current level doesn't provide enough crystals to go to the next level. You have to replay the past levels over and over again to collect enough to finally move on. I had to play level 1 twice to go to level 2 and then play level 2 four times to unlock level 3 and so on. There are only 10 levels in the game, but it will take hours to actually play that last level.

Finally, the dev has taken repetitiveness to the next level by promising those who purchased the game on itchio a Steam key once it was released and then doing the complete opposite by removing the game files from itchio so customers can no longer play the game and have to re-buy it again on Steam.

Piggy Poggy Pog is yet another re-skinned clone of the same short (less than 10 minute) platformer game TSS Studio continues to spam the store with.

I really liked the concept of this game of navigating through orbits to collect crates and then successfully landing on the exit. However, there just isn't enough content to justify it being sold as a complete product, especially at its current price of $6.99. You see everything there is in the first couple of levels. No new mechanics are added to the game as you progress. The developer admits that the game is too simple and the fix was to add artificial difficulty to make the game longer. For instance, rather than have intuitive controls using toggles, it requires the player to activate thrusters with one hand and turn them off with another. The level design stops adding anything new and just adds more tedious narrow paths that must be navigated rather than an actual challenge or puzzles. Finally, the DLC appears to be “pay to win” rather than getting any new content, it just gives the player access to aircraft that should be included already in the game. By level 9 it is near impossible to progress any further with the default ship as it cannot accelerate fast enough to get through the small orbit and requires purchasing the DLC to advance the level.

Not only is the music super annoying - infinite loop of a kids nursery song "This Old Man", but the developer (if you can call him one) just took https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/draw-game-83537 and asset-flipped it as his own work. The 100 levels are also very repetitive and only take about an hour to complete.

It's an asset flip of White Peas[assetstore.unity.com]. Most of the levels are very easy and only a handful are challenging toward the end.

This isn't much of a game. It just feels like someone started tinkering around in Unity for the first time and completed a beginners tutorial. Why someone would charge money for this is beyond my comprehension.
There is just 1 simple level with 4 platforms where up to 3 enemies spawn in from the sky and they either go left or right - following the exact same path until they fall into a hole at the bottom and respawn again. The enemies spawn in with random speeds and hit points, but it is essentially the same thing over and over. All you do is jump over them and collect orbs to level up or shoot enemies to get points to purchase skins. The skins do nothing and leveling up just makes the bullets do slightly more damage, but the gun is almost pointless anyway as it's just easier to jump over them or avoid them since they are very predictable.
If that wasn't bad enough the achievements take forever to get. The orbs needed to level up grow exponentially so to get to level 10 you have to collect for hours.

Take HellGunner, remove all of the different enemies, pickup/health, and strip it down to a small map and you get this. Both apparently by the same developer (EHTechnology).
