Homeworld Defense is a basic clicker game guised as tower defense. I just cannot recommend it to those who are looking for a strategic defense game. The game requires a lot of clicking for collecting materials for buying upgrades/unlocking new levels. It focuses so much on collecting that each level must be replayed multiple times to unlock the next level, which inflates the overall game time in a bad way.

There is a separate element collected for purchasing/placing units within the same small area of the map during play, but there’s not much thought involved in doing so as it really comes down to placing the same units over and over. Many of the levels either limit the building of units or completely removes them altogether (requiring the player to click kill the enemies).

The game was built using UE4 and has some nice explosions; however, the camera angel/control is so bad that most of the time the game is so zoomed out that it’s hard to even see it. If you enjoy casual clicker games than this may fun for a few minutes if you can get it at a high discount.

I really wanted to give this game a good recommendation because of what a tremendous feat it must be for an indie dev to create a modern FPS single player storyline campaign with voice acted animations. I knew it wouldn’t play like a AAA game, but there is usually some charm and humor that still makes it worthwhile. Sadly, this game is a big disappointment. From the start, it just feels off… like the game’s sole purpose is to mimic those AAA games rather than do anything original. The whole time I’m thinking I wish I was playing one of those games because this part reminds me of that and it was way cooler. This one just feels like a knock off.
Upon completing the 1 hour long story, it just ended abruptly with a chopper rescue scene and the very short credits rolled. The Developer is Bovalex, published by Falcoware, and voice acted by Kelvin Cumberbatch. That seems to sum it up. I looked up Bovalex and found a fiverr account[duckduckgo.com] where he is willing to create a 1 hour game for $995. Also found a forum post[forum.unity.com] where he was in need of a voice actor. That was it. Seems like the whole game was created as a cash grab with no real inspiration or other motivation.
For $3 there are much better indie games out there or it could even fetch one of the older AAA games this one attempts to impersonate. Why not just play one of those instead?

AIDEN is a very bare bones walking simulator type game. It feels like whoever made this was likely practicing how to create something using the Unreal4 engine. It's a cluster of prefab assets that just don't work together. Lighting is off with many areas of amateur texture clipping, objects are sized disproportionately, sections and rooms are obviously copied and pasted to give the illusion of a larger map. The game is short with a few tasks of finding keys and notes within small areas. I was able to complete it in about 30 minutes.

Deadly Traps is a Parkour style type game that requires precision timing. It's rather short and attempts to make up for that by starting out very challenging from the first level. However, the level design is well done with all 30 levels having their own unique twists and is laid out in a way that allows the player to stop in between difficult areas and plan ahead. It even gives the option to skip levels should one become unbearable.

The biggest problem I had with this game was the inconsistency between starting a level from the menu and when it restarts upon dying. I would have liked to speed-run the game, but upon dying the enemies and traps do not get reset to their starting positions. This can lead to frustrating situations where the first attempt at the level was much easier due to the timing and the only way to get it reset is to exit out and load the level over again.

Christmas Race is another 100% Asset Flip by the fake developer, RewindApp. As a matter of fact, all of their games just take complete project templates from the Unity store and do little customization themselves and thus profit off of someone else’s work.
Unity asset used: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/templates/packs/sliding-santa-103647

The game plays like a template too with little content. It is just an infinite loop of making the same 90 degree turn going to the left. Each turn randomly places gifts to collect and obstacles to avoid. The only control is holding the mouse button down to have Santa turn left.

Note that there is no gravity in the game. The ball just moves back and forth by clicking the mouse. It's fun for almost 5 minutes.

Brick Breaker Ultimate is another 100% Asset Flip by the fake developer, RewindApp. As a matter of fact, all of their games just take complete project templates from the Unity store and do little customization themselves and thus profit off of someone else’s work.

Additionally, this game has a design flaw where it starts out hard and becomes too easy rather quickly. At first the player needs to make some skill shots to strategically take out the bricks before they fall to the bottom. However, extra balls are quickly gathered. Once a handful of balls are obtained all the player needs to do is shoot them horizontally and the game plays itself. It attempts to become more difficult with increasing number of hits per block, but all this does is make each level play for a longer period of time. I was only able to make it to about level 100 before at least one of the balls leapt out of the play area and caused an infinite loop.

Dupio plays out more as a mini-game with a single puzzle mechanic – much like those found in HOGs (such as hacking a safe or matching corresponding symbols.) It is an interesting concept about controlling two characters; however, it is too short and just not dynamic enough to recommend for even a casual gamer.
