Super Punchman starts out looking promising with an over the top menu screen and a short B-rated movie cut-scene depicting a dragon knocking our hero out of the air. From the store description I was expecting some funny one-liners and clichés in the vein of Duke Nukem. However, just like the hero crashing, the start of the game takes a huge nose dive. There is no more personality or story at all. It’s like someone started making a game and another person took it over to just quickly get it out as some cheap shovelware.

The game is a very bland top-down shooter where you fight 15 short waves of prefab asset dinosaurs/dragons.[assetstore.unity.com] All of the enemies just rush towards the character like brain dead zombies. Even the bosses are like this - just slightly bigger in size than the other enemies and does not feel like a boss fight at all. All of the levels are the same with just the background image changed and you just walk around the edge of the map spamming the fire and grenade keys to win. The walls on the map are transparent so most of the time when dying it's a very cheap death where the player gets cornered without knowing it.

It was so hard for me to keep playing this, even though it took less than an hour. I pushed on and made myself finish to the end because I wanted to see this story through. It was a huge disappointment. Not only is there no more cut-scenes for completing the game, but it simply restarts the game at the beginning again! One minute I get a message that a rescue ship got the transmission and is coming to save me and then the next wave we’re back to activating the rescue beacons. It makes no sense at all. It was just a very lazy release as a cash grab game.

Twine3D is a very basic prototype for a snake vs snake game. It's something one would create within a beginners Unity game tutorial within an hour or two. There is only a single small level where you move an endless growing snake in an empty 3d room and attempt to get the computer controlled snake to run into your tail. The AI is very basic too and can be defeated in a few seconds.

Sci-fi Chess is an asset-flip of Chris Stapleton’s port of GarboChess[forum.game-guru.com] (Chessforeva) for GameGuru. To start the game, it clearly states “E to play Garbochess”. The dev just took the project files, flips it on Steam, and gives no mention of any of this work in the credits.

Tetripank is an asset-flip of Riftris[forums.unrealengine.com]. The dev just took the project files and reskinned it a little to pawn it off as his own. No credit given to Duncan Hemingway[www.duncanhemingway.com] who actually made it.

Old Factory is Realistic FPS Prefab[assetstore.unity.com] with a bunch of other Unity store assets thrown together into a small map. It just seems like it was slapped together as another +1 shovelware title for the next OtakuMaker bundle.

Neon Void Runner is a concept for the makings of a potentially great game. I love the visual style, with its Retro-Futuristic polygon background and the light trail is reminiscent of the old Tron movie. The Synthwave sound track compliments it nicely. The energy blaster feels freaking powerful. The gravity boots to cut a jump short in order to time the next jump is a nice touch.

It’s a shame it never got further developed into a real game as there is just not much content to play with. There are only 6 levels and half of them just feel like repeats of the first levels and even re-use the same 3 music tracks. There are no enemies, no story, no boss fights, and ultimately no real reason to keep playing. The cool energy blaster gun can only destroy a blocking wall – what a waste. The game ends up feeling like shovelware to be released quickly as a cash grab. With more development work it could have been something much larger than just another +1 for some OtakuMaker bundle. As such, I can only recommend getting this game if it comes in a bundle.

Knight Fighter features a somersaulting knight in heavy armor, but as such quickly falls short... of being an actual game. It’s an obvious OtakuMaker bundle shovelware filler title that consists of 4 short levels (about 3 minutes long) where the player simply moves right and fights the same enemies over again. The AI is terrible and will fall off ledges or just stand still. The only challenge is attempting to do a running jump, which requires pressing the arrow key 3 times to do a sprint.

Upon completing the game, it actually just exits out of the game as if the developer never expected someone to play it through its entirety. The store description boasts about combo moves and punches, yet just watch the game trailer and you can see how simplistic the fighting actually is. There is only a single jump and attack button, which I guess the jump kick is considered a combo.

This is a fake game used for shovelware in OtakuMaker bundles. It only contains 4 extremely short levels that can be completed in under a few minutes. There isn't even a driver in the car. That's how little effort was put into this.

The game should be named Super Annoying Robo Mouse. It starts out aggravating from the very beginning where the menu screens requires a space bar key to advance then the next screen switches to mouse navigation and another screen requiring A and B keyboard buttons. The music is nice, but there is only a single looping track that cannot be turned off. The level design starts out promising, but then I quickly realized that all of the levels are the same thing – one large maze where the cheeses (keys to unlock the exit) are spread out around the whole level so the player has to navigate the entire maze anyway while avoiding the same obstacles over and over, which just becomes a very lengthy and linear path. I just used the right hand rule and followed that on every level.
The boss fights are also repetitive and surprisingly easy compared to the rest of the game. The same strategy can be used to just walk along the edge of the room to collect the cheeses in each corner while bullet dodging and then exit from the center of the room.
Even though I played through the entire game, I don’t recommend anyone else does this – even if it feels somewhat rewarding. It’s just too tedious and requires a robot to play through it. One with no emotion as it makes me want to throw something every time I am one pixel off attempting to avoid a trap, which restarts the entire level over again. Also, nothing happens at all upon completing the game. Nothing. It just takes the player back to the level select screen.

I don't play many visual novels, however, Edepth Angel: Pinocchio's Murder looked interesting to me as it mentions collecting evidence in a timeline and presenting cases to alter the story. However, in my first play through that took roughly 1 hour I never did any of this. There was one mini game scene where I collected a blood and hair sample, but never ended up using it. The game was mostly clicking through dialog with a few choices thrown in every now and then. Many times the wrong choice would abruptly end the game.
The story started off decent and I enjoyed the art work, however, I just felt lost the entire game. I played through multiple times and got good and bad endings, but still don't understand what is going on at all. The game has some good ideas, but just feels unfinished. I think it's based off a comic series and I have never read them so maybe it assumes the player already knows what is going on. If the game gets some updates I might replay and update my review, but I just cannot recommend it in the state it is in now, especially at the $15 price tag.
