Evil Spirits starts out rather enjoyable with its B-Movie style cut scenes, but unfortunately the numerous bugs and lack of a tutorial make it difficult for most players to get past the first level or two. Although the game uses many prefab Unity assets I found it to actually be rather well made - especially by just a 2 person development team. The 12 levels progress the story, while keeping the game challenging and interesting with plenty of short cut scenes. It also has a distinguishable feature of a hunger and thirst meter that depletes over time, turning the player into some sort of vampire cannibal where they must keep moving forward to take out the next group of enemies who will drop meat and vodka to reset the meters.

Tips: In the first level, be sure to travel to each checkpoint on the radar – going out of order will break that level. On the second level, ignore the radar checkpoint at the boat and just head over to the cave on the other side of the beach.
Only save at the beginning of a level as it only seems to store the player’s location and nothing else – so when reloading all of the enemies will be re-spawned and you won’t have the weapons and ammo.

I’m on the fence about recommending it. It’s a fairly entertaining game with around 2 hours of content. If it weren’t for the bugs I would say it’s appropriately priced at $3, however the bugs make it almost unplayable so if you can get it for a decent discount and willing to work past the bugs then it might be worth a look.

Jailbreak Craft would fit right in as one of those free flash browser games on Newgrounds. I went through all choices and saw every animation\ending, which took less than 10 minutes. There just isn’t enough content to justify selling it as a complete game. It just seems like it was hastily released as another +1 shovelware title for the next OtakuMaker bundle.

Laserium is a concept for the makings of a potentially great game. It has a retro arcade feel with the graphics and sound, but an added twist of drawing temporary platforms in real time. It’s a shame it never got further developed into a real game as there is just not much content to play with. There are only 11 levels and most just feel like repeats. There is only 1 enemy type (moving blocks) with no story. I just can’t recommend buying anything with only 5 minutes of actual content.

Edit (July 30, 2018):
The developer has been very active in improving the game and I will continue to update my review as the game progresses. Unborn is a very simplistic evolution/survival type game in which the player starts out avoiding viruses, while collecting nutrient cells to grow big enough to then consume the viruses. It’s themed around sex cells to give it a shock value, but unfortunately lacks any real substance. There is only a single evolutionary path where the player grows one size and is then able to finish the level. The controls are cumbersome – where the “spermatozoon“ follows the mouse, but the cursor is hidden on the screen.
There are only 3 actual levels: survive and then consume the viruses, a simple boss fight with single fire pattern, and a timed consuming challenge. Each level is roughly 3 minutes long, which is around 10 minutes of gameplay. These 3 levels are then duplicated along 7 virus themed worlds, each consisting of 6 survive/consume levels, a boss fight, and 3 timed challenges. This makes the game very slow and repetitive as each level is the same thing over again, but with different enemy sprites and background image. There is no change in mechanics to keep it interesting or challenging. I don’t know why someone would think making a 10 minute game last over 3 hours would be fun. It does have some simplistic story cut scenes (like the original Pac-Man), but it just isn’t rewarding enough to make up for the hours of repetitive gameplay.

Narko Games is notorious for asset-flipping and pawing it off as shovelware. Retro Miami is no exception. Only the very beginning of the game is even remotely 1980's Miami with a short club scene where a song named NetworkUnknown by BONES[open.spotify.com] plays with no credit given and probably used without permission. It continues to go downhill from there and ends up being yet another mesh up prefab assets and buildings. There are numerous bugs where characters clip through walls/objects and enemies shoot facing backward.
The game changes into some 1940's WWII fighting Hitler’s army – where the walls give off a neon glow from an unknown light source. By the final, third map the dev has just given up and it only consists of a small building floating in mid-air that abruptly ends the game with the dreaded “To be continued…” I can only hope this is some sick joke and the dev will never release another game again because seriously there is no market for this.

Abasralsa is a typical GameGuru asset-flip of a single map with stock assets consisting of all sorts of characters and out-of-place buildings that don’t fit together. Assets aren't even placed properly as some are just floating in mid-air. There just isn’t much content either as the level is simply a small asylum in an open field with a playground containing a key to open the bordering gate. Then that area has another key and a gate, which just abruptly ends the game. No story. It’s about 5 minutes of actual game, another 10 boring minutes of walking in an open field, and an additional 5 minutes of watching the loading screen.

Kama Bullet Heritage is the typical GameGuru asset-flip with stock assets and tutorial maps all cobbled together. It’s very disjointed as it starts out in medieval town that has all sorts of characters and out-of-place buildings that don’t fit together. It then progresses to zombie infested lab/subway, which just abruptly ends. It’s about 15 minutes of pointless (find a key/object and unlock/find the next door) quests with an additional 15 minutes of watching loading screens.
