Thanks for playing and commenting, SpielSatzFail!

What a great one! Only a few elements but no chance without thinking logically and using your portals in the right way. Thank you for this.
"what you see is what you get" might only be half the story, I found the upper level after some time, more or less accidentally ^^ From then on, I needed another 10mins or so to finally make it :D

Very good map nice work, not easy at all.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 22 Mar, 2015 @ 2:43pm
Thanks, jason.wartell and Nethseaar, I've subscribed to some of your maps.
Also, the grated-off area is just there as part of the decor, but maybe I should remove it because that could be misleading, hmm...
Nethseäar 18 Mar, 2015 @ 4:14pm
Superb, sir! I had totally forgotten that I had a lightbridge, but lo! it was there from the beginning. I do wonder about the grated-off area to the left, when facing the exit door -- is that accessible? And I hypothesize that one could take the companion cube's turret guard and toss it to remove the cube from the button . . .

Would you play my chamber, even though it is the intro to a series? http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=327607773

You really will play mine if I play yours?
stormsend 20 Dec, 2014 @ 3:24am
This is a very good logic problem. I couldn't see the exit strategy until I studied it from a dozen different angles. Finally that aha moment and the set-up. The actual sequence was a cinch but it took several tries to get it right. You make the best maps. Thank you for the workout. See ya round the worksop.

Thanks psn_markm1978, BlacKy, and temporarymanwastaken, I appreciate you playing! I've subscribed to your maps and will play them eventually. (except you, temporarymanwastaken, it looks like you don't have any maps yet--try making one! But be careful, it's literally addicting.)

I haven't logged on in awhile.

Much easier than I initially thought.

I'm glad you had that moment, kimist108! And Mike, I hope you're not still staring at the wall. Need a hint? At the end you'll use the same portal to both create a funnel and then a light bridge. ...maybe that's not a very helpful hint... Anyway, good luck! My hope is, of course, that this is a challenge and fun to solve.
MrHuge 6 Jun, 2014 @ 5:42pm
Currently sitting in this level staring at the wall going "uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".

your welcome
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 12 Mar, 2014 @ 8:25pm
Thanks, mood3rd, I think have an idea of how I can fix this.

And to anyone who has ever gotten stuck with the funnel on this map: you're right, it's a main course of bad design, with a side of too lazy to fix it yet. I'll fix it eventually. Thanks for playing!

to stop players using the funel & getting trapped-like me :)
one solution, is the following:
you could make this area non-portable.
http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=236258182
I would probably just leave the area the light bridge goes into portable.
then make this area portable.
http://cs2bus.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=236258086
I would also make the drop to the splat, a lot deeper.
for a bit of adrenalin, for the player.

I kept this comment seperate, so you could delete it if you like.
but keep the well deserved praise, in the 1st comment.

True Logic Aperture Puzzle, i enjoyed a lot becaus of logic and not guessing as most of recent
maps, congratulation and thank you for this Awsome map, hope to see more of yours
here is my playthrough : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Yn5n3wFcsE
DTKinetic 18 Feb, 2014 @ 6:01pm
I enjoyed this puzzle. The "extensions" of the room were intriguing and had me guessing for a while, but the essentials of the puzzle were challenging in their own right. I think I found a deceptive technique I used to help get out, but it still required a ton of thought and wasn't an easy exploit. Still, it was a fun map.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 17 Feb, 2014 @ 8:23pm
*headsmack* Geneosis, I thought I understood what you had done, I didn't, but now I do, so I changed things accordingly. Thanks again!
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 17 Feb, 2014 @ 2:49pm
Thanks for playing, Stagger Lee!
And I just made an update thanks to Geneosis's & mechtakendall's feedback. ...well, I still don't know how mechtakendall solved it, but maybe this makes whatever that was impossible! Anyway, no more portalable surfaces on the floor in the middle of the room. Thanks again for subscribing/playing everyone, you're simply the best.
Stagger Lee 15 Feb, 2014 @ 7:46pm
I enjoyed this one a lot. It took me a few minutes before I noticed the grating above hid portalable spots. I was trying to sove the puzzle without having gone up there and was having a perplexing time. : )
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 15 Feb, 2014 @ 6:16pm
Geneosis, I hadn't thought of that, thanks for the info! Now I have to decide if I'll force the intended solution or just leave it. I'll try to replicate what you did, too.
And mechtakendall, thanks for your review. I tried to solve it without using the white paint up top, haven't been able to do it yet, I'll try some more...
Thanks a ton for playing and for the comments!
Geneosis 15 Feb, 2014 @ 11:06am
Okay that was a cool chamber (with a cool easter egg) but I think I found a little exploit as I solved it without using the funnel... What I did was to reach the companion cube area, from there place portals to disable the fizzler facing the exit, place a portal in front of the door, then jump and place my second portal where is the light bridge : this way I land on the light bridge leading to the exit ;)
mechtakendall 9 Feb, 2014 @ 1:40pm
Nice puzzle. I didn't have to use the white paint up top though. Difficulty 4/10 Design 7/10
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 7 Feb, 2014 @ 7:29pm
Jade, thanks for the great feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
Jade BGE 7 Feb, 2014 @ 7:05pm
Haha Yes!!! I did it! I loved it! What a brain - you not me. I had to come back to it twice. I watched the video but I knew I couldn't do that. I'm sure I did it the intended way too. That was fabulous and a favorite. Thanks Mitch for notifying me about your great test.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 7:35pm
Updated: [hopefully] eliminated an unintended solution (standing on pedestal button--thanks Brave and Prototype) and I made a few design modifications.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 6 Feb, 2014 @ 11:05am
Thanks, Prototype! Yep, I'm going to move the pedestal button tonight, I have an idea . . .
Prototype 6 Feb, 2014 @ 1:34am
My blindrun , same solution as Brave by the sounds. Nice one, I'm sure the intended solution is much nicer.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 5 Feb, 2014 @ 7:46pm
That sounds good, Picton, thanks.

Andi, thanks for playing! Yours is in my queue.
Picton 5 Feb, 2014 @ 1:58pm
No don't get rid of the companion cube :3. Perhaps just light up the chamber more and/or bring it closer so it's more obvious that it's surrounded by glass? Was pretty obvious to me though not only because of the glass but also because having another cube would make this a dead simple 2 minute test.
Andi 5 Feb, 2014 @ 1:44pm
Great chamber. I had me stumped for awhile. The love the solution, thumbs up.

Would you mind trying mine?

Mitch McWiggins  [author] 5 Feb, 2014 @ 12:18pm
and

Brave, you're right about moving the pedestal button, I hadn't noticed that! Watching a turret get fried while rising up in a blue funnel is always fun, but that's not worth having an unintended solution, of course. I'll try something else.
And I've been debating whether or not to have that companion cube there at all, because I'm not sure how obvious it is that it's intentionally inaccessable. Anyway, it sounds like your 2nd time through was the intended.

Picton, yes, that was the intended, and thanks for the feedback as well!

Thanks for playing everyone! I'm putting more of yours in my queue.
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 5 Feb, 2014 @ 12:18pm
Zoraya, thanks for the note about getting stuck with the funnel in the tunnel, I hadn't thought of that and I might try to think of a way to force one and not the other, hmm... And I've thought about getting rid of that area altogether and just making the laser cube automatically available in the main room, but at the same time I like requiring light bridge use at the start to possibly create a tricky illusion that that's its only purpose in the puzzle. Great feedback, I'll think about this!

Thanks for playing!
Picton 4 Feb, 2014 @ 4:57pm
That was really great. I love those minimalistic but challenging type puzzles. How I did it was: I put the cube on the button lining it up with the laser catcher then did some other stuff can't really remember but the end I was up the top and jumped into the backwards funnel then turned it into the light bridge. I assume that was the intended solution. It took about 15 minutes for it to click (before which i was thinking this is a paradox cruel chamber) :) but after i got it only took 1-2 minutes to complete. I thoroughly enjoyed it and that room with just the companion cube in the middle. Personally I thought that the 2 turrets were unnecessary as was the button you press just to kill one and get the laser. Other than that a really great map. I think medium difficulty is about right although I might say slightly harder... but the hair pull factor is 10/10 until you 'get it'.:p2cube:
Brave 4 Feb, 2014 @ 4:53pm
Fun puzzles, but you may want to move the pedestal button off the wall bacause the first time I solved, I stood on the pedestal button, deactivated the fizzler, shot a portal on the wall, then picking up the tractor beam, jumping off the pedestal button into the funnel then picking up the light bridge to make my exit!

2nd time I played I figured out the upper area where the converion splat and 1 turret is follow by a glass in companion cube, which that cube is just for looks! But for me to solved going from 1 side to the other was essential to deactivating the fizzler, shot a portal on the wall, then picking up the tractor beam, jumping into the funnel then picking up the light bridge!{/spoiler]
Zoraya 4 Feb, 2014 @ 3:26pm
Great puzzle, very clever and well thought out! I only noticed that it is possible to get stuck in the tractor beam (if using it to get the cube insted of using the light brigde).
Anyway, it was very enjoyable and I hope to see more from you, thanks!
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 3 Feb, 2014 @ 7:43pm
Thanks, daloboy! That's the solution. One can also use the blue funnel to push the button and to get to the area above, but I like yours, it's quicker. Thanks a ton for playing.
daloboy 3 Feb, 2014 @ 4:37pm
Hi there Mitch! I really like that puzzle! It took me some time to get it right! My solution .
Mitch McWiggins  [author] 2 Feb, 2014 @ 10:23pm
I'm only aware of one solution so far. If you have a minute, please let me know how you got to the exit and how long it took! (and then I might delete your comment, due to spoilers) Thanks all.
