Description
FEUD
Custom control of feuds.

Stop feuds whenever you want to, like the moment one starts, just end it!

And for the masochists, start a feud whenever you want to, with whomever you want to.

ABOUT
I got bored of the F&F feud system after my first feud, and so I added the facility to stop feuds to my personal mod.

Then a particular duke from Bohemia really pissed me off when he seduced both of my daughters, and the youngest was barely out of finishing school, it was her first feast!
So I added the facility to start a feud against his dynasty and I wiped them out. I would have done it without feuds but decided to let my house have fun too, though that backfired as a few of them died along the way, but as the cooks say omelettes and eggs lol

Now after seeing so many people in various forums pissed off with the same feud mechanism, and having been asked by a couple of people for my mod, I have decided to carve out the basic features into a standalone mod for anyone that wants to use it.


HOWTO

Decision
I decided to go with a decision to enable custom feud control rather than a game rule so that it is save game compatible and can be added to existing games.

There is a minor decision called Custom Feud control which toggles the mechanism on and off.
It is off by default so the vanilla feud system is in effect.
To turn custom feud control on, open the decision and confirm your choice, and to turn it off open the decision and confirm your choice.

Couldn't be simpler right!?

END FEUDS
Open your house head's character interaction menu and select the Feud end option in the Diplomacy category.

Ending a hostile feud
Click on any landed member of a house that is feuding with your house and click Feud End.

START FEUDS
Are you mad, why the hell would you want to start a feud?

Okay, you're a crazy masochist, I get it, I have started the occasional feud myself as I said in the ABOUT section.
There are valid reasons, but that doesn't mean you are not a crazy masochist, just saying.

To start a feud select any member of the house you want to start a feud against, open their character interaction menu and select the Feud start option in the Diplomacy category.

NOTE
You can only have one house feud running at any time.

There is a very real possibility that the notification event that is supposed to fire for your house when a feud is started against your house will not actually fire due to the trigger on the event. I do not want to go any deeper into the feud mechanism as it is more trouble than it's worth, so there is nothing I can do about that.

Also there is no notification if your house head does receive the notification event but decides to ignore the feud.

In both eventualities you will have to work out you are in a feud the way pdox seems to expect you to, which boils down to the shock and horror as you realise your house members are being mown down like wheat.

haha feuds are fun but they can become a tad tedious when the other dynasty is better at them than yours so everyone you knew suddenly dies off or is seduced :steamhappy:

Thanks for this! I just got the DLC with feuds and I entered a feud with a guy who I've literally never even met, and am now his nemesis.

Although the mod starts events, it uses the vanilla mechanism so doesn't do anything different to vanilla and I have no plans of diverging from vanilla because the maintenance increases, as does the chance of creating bugs.

I noticed you can only start a feud if you are landed and the person you begin the feud with is also landed. Are there plans to make it work amongst adventurer characters and NPCs?

Glad you got it working.

For future game updates you should have a look at

https://github.com/Ant0nidas/CK3-Playset-Preserver/

It will preserve your current playset to guard against mod updates moving beyond your version of the game.

My bad. I tried playing again with Feud on 1.12 and it worked fine. No idea why it was crashing before.
